What do you think of this proposed bill? Renewable marriage after 10 years.

That is the headline today in some Philippine newspaper. Said bill is creating an uproar because of the obvious negative effect it will bring to the institution of family. The bill sought to remedy the problem of battered women. What do you think, should this be allowed?

Dear friend,
In India here we do have marriage law as law that is from western culture. Moreover after marriage a women can get the partner and his parents to jail without any solid reasons. Just a word of a women could spoil whole reputation of a decent man. More over it has come to a situation that most women here are misusing those laws that is implemented for their betterment. I hope this renewable bill could make a better impact if implemented in India.

When i first heard about that bill. The first thing i remember is the korean novelas.. their story always have the same idea of being married for a certain period of time.. LOL...
But seriously, for me i dont agree with that. I still believe that matrimony is sacred and should last a lifetime.

Like so many others have posted here, Marriage is a sacred thing and should not be taken lightly. Yes, sometimes things happen in Marriages that do cause a divorce but to lightly say in 10 yrs. you can leave and marry someone else is just wrong. I am going on 11 yrs. of marriage myself next month and could never look to wanting to be with anyone else either.

marriage is a life long commitment, once you entered that commitment its final. as a rule, before you enter marriage, make sure you are 200% sure about it. no turning back and you must promise your partner that you will take care of him/her for the rest of your life.

Marriage is a sacrament, with Christianity as a reference, in some cases it may be bounded by human laws but I really do not agree that it would become renewal just because of some issues. To avoid battered women, teach the women on how to protect themselves and let them be aware that there are institutions that would help them. Renewal marriage would only promote family instability. Here in this age and time we find siblings in our country with different fathers or mothers if that bill would become a law then we might find ourselves in a super big family tree of half siblings and step mothers and fathers.
