If you think you antivirus is not good, or if you are having countless troubels on your computer, maybe you should take a look a Faronics Deep Freeze software. Not only that it protects you from any known virus/trojan/worm, it keeps your computer in a healthy state, always optimized, runs like new.

hey man, nice to hear from you, i just got back from a months work in the farm, unfortunately we are not reached by any Internet out there.Sorry i have to missed out on your discussion,i needed to turn of notification coz emails are pounding me. there is a link for a free download, but you need to do read things about faronics deep freeze before you actually can use it. its not as complicated as it seems, to sum things up, with deep freeze installed, everytime you open your computer it uses only a virtual system to operate, so anything that happens, a virus attack, computer troubles, all you need to do is restart and everything is back to its original state.check it out, Faronics Deep Freeze

I grow chickens by profession, and work on my mango trees its hard work, about the computer, its different from a restore point, the virus will only infect the virtual computer, not the real one, so the next time you restart you pc its new again. everything thats happens and all that you do, is only in virtual mode, the real pc programs/files are frozen and preserve

I have heard about it, the only slight problem about it is i have many computers and its quite hard to remember settings for each computer.
But yes i think its much better than having virus scanners and spywares.
One concern is, isnt it that all inputs are lost the next time u open the computer?
What if u catched a trojan ,so its roams around , because u got no resident shield.
Ok now u open your yahoo mail, and the virus crawls into your yahoo, and presto
you might transfer the virus when u send emails or anything that u do online .
However if u have a resident shield, it will readily warn u and it will advise u what to do to dispose the virus right away.
With deep freeze , the virus is still roaming and u can only dispose it only if if you reboot.
This is my concern...and honestly i dont know if this is what is really happening.
Maybe u can enlighten me.

windows defender will take care of phishing, spamming and other identity theft software, its a freeware from windows, If you happen to catch a trojan or worm or something, it only infects the Shadow/virtual YOU ( the computer system and OS) which therefore when you reboot everything is back to normal again. The Main point here if that your OS is impenetrable to attacks, About the inputs, you save them to another partition in your HD, which is D and this is not affected by the restore reboot principle. (you intall the Deep freeze to your C partition which is the home of the OS.)(However in computer shop/cafes, they install the deep freeze in all HD, protecting their investment) and if you dont have a partition on your HD, all important inputs are transfered to an external drive which is a flash drive, pen drive or external HD.

Thank you for clearing some things for me.
I was hoping i can fix it myself because you know it must be expensive to have a technician to do that on not just one but many computers.
Right now im using Avast and spybot.
But i know deepfreeze is alot better though quite complicated to use at first.
Thanks.

I have checked out many anti-viruses but now have finished my search and installed Avast 4.8 Home Edition, as it is free to register and is registered under my name so I don't have to run wildly searching the internet for new valid keys weekly like NOD32. So far, many months have passed and I have found no threat or computer slowing down.

nice to hear that, it only means you use your computer very well. understanding the basics is the real key to it.

Kaspersky is a great anti virus tool, But deep freeze is different, it adds performance to your pc rather than eating up RAM

well these days I am using Microsoft security essentials for my windows XP operating system. It is working much better than the trial versions of other higher ranked antivirus programs. The all you need to have a genuine windows OS to install it...

Yes i keep telling all computer users that they need a genuine OS for their computer, its a little costly but you will have all the benefit of your computer if its running up to date. Its Windows Defender that i use, its like its not there, you just get notified when ever something malicious happens. But we could not trust anyone even microsoft, so i needed to install the Deep Freeze.

No anti virus in this world is perfect. they key to achieve a good all round protection is to use several security softwares not just one
personally, i use an anti virus (nod 32. daily updated) + Zone alarm firewall + spybot S&D + SPy sweeper
all the above mentioned softwares are great and do a great job of keeping pesky codes at bay

i have experiences with Nod 32 even daily update is sometimes not enough for some tracking cookies and worms, spybot on the otherhand seems to slow my computer coz its constantly running and eating RAM, it is with this reasons i discovered Deep Freeze, you should try it and get a first hand experience on what its all about. Thanks for dropping by, GUd Pm.

hey hi there!
actually, as i said before, no anti virus is perfect. maybe you breathe norton/symantec or mcafee but none are upto the mark. norton and symantec show off too much show in their GUI for which people think these in are the best. on the other hand, mcafee's engine is slow. i prefer an anti virus with a good engine, which can detect malicious codes before they even enter my system, even befor ei download them. But i must say out of all antivirus i have seen, Panda Titanium is the best of the best. though it will make your pc crawl and maybe it has a problematic uninstaller but its always number 1 in my list.
As per you concern regarding spy bot S&D, ive never faced slowing down of my pc. maybe you have less amount of ram (i have 4 gb) or perhaps there is some kind of incompatibility with your system and/or the software.
thanks for the comment anyway ;) keep it comin

frankly, Faronics Deep Freeze cant be better than norton antivirus or mcafee's security suite or panda titanium simply because theey are the best players in the field of security.. i think its better to get an original anti virus rather than a pirated one a genuine ones makes you eligible for updates which should keep malicious codes at bay
