The love and hate relationship between bloggers and Word Press rages on. Is this networking site worth the headache to be a part of?

Easy, set up your own server with full mySQL and PHP support. There's nothing about it that you can't customize once it's on your own server. I guess PostgreSQL would work too, but I'm not a fan...

I have done this in respect to gain readership, but I am not a fan of word press, it seems to be a one sided love affair.

I am new to wordpress, but I don't think that it is as user friendly as Blogger. Well, I would like to make my own background and customize theme but until now I haven.t figured out how to do it.

If you mean hosting with wp as a subdomain they suck, but if you mean hosing on your own sever they rick and there are so many good templates and plugings for wp out there

My sentiment exactly, this is one of the reasons why I do not spend much time using or promoting word press.

I used to update a blog on Wordpress but it became a little tedious. Adding images and videos was quirky at best. And many times the images needed some tweaking before it'd appear the way you want it to. Overall I wasn't impressed and won't be updating there much more.

Thank you for your comment on this post, I feel the same way you do about this, many other people and users feel that word press plugin is somewhat biased in how the community works.

I'm not sure how the main wordpress.com works since I use a self-hosted wordpress, but since it's a social networking site I'm guessing that there are options to ignore unwanted users. As for the wordpress site software itself, it's pretty awesome. Though the amount of control a self-hosted wordpress blog may be overwhelming to new users, it only takes a few days to get used to it.

'may be overwhelming to new users'/ I agree with you. But I like more wordpress than Blogger now for their tools etc... It looks more professional if you serious in marketing.
