Goodbye, Mylot :(

Guys, I'm so sad! I just found before minutes ago that mylot don't work with my country. I checked preferences - payment information to update my paypal information. And I just saw the script with small letters : " I am also aware mylot pays in US dollars via Paypal. Due to regulations set forth by OFAC mylot is not to send money to certain countries or certain individuals. Click here for a list of countries where OFAC prohibits mylot from sending money..." So I checked these countries and my country is in this list :( It says : " Balkans-related Sanctions[BALKANS]" I'm so sorry about it... I thought that this site is good opportunity for me. And I really enjoyed my week here! It's a social place and I was somehow ... becoming to love it! It's a social place, you know! I really enjoyed sharing my opinion with myloters. But I have lot of work to do. I'm a student, it's my last year now. I'll graduate PR and journalism this year. I was trying to make some profit here and to earn some money with what I love and supposed to do - writing. So farewell, mylotters! I'll really miss you! Maybe I'll be here from time to time to check out the posts and write something if I have time. But I'll not be able to be active this no more this way! I really had wonderful time with you! Goodbye! Have a good time !

Don't delete your account. It's enough to log in, even without posting, once every 90 days to keep it alive. Maybe one day things will change and your country will be included and you will be able to receive your payout. In the meantime, god luck with whatever you do.

it's sad that you have to find out about it only after posting more than 200 posts. But like everyone else, it's the information we gain and we imparted to others that matters. I'm sure it must have been pretty disappointing to you. As the saying goes, the only permanent in this world is change and at the rate people are using the internet to transact business, its just a matter of time before you can received payment from Paypal. Until then, lets just keep our fingers crossed. Cheers!

We can use paypal. I already have one and my account is verified. But mylot can't send the earnings to my paypal. This OFAC do not let the site do it. I'm not sure why!

oh, it is really sad to know that. however, it is advisable not to bid farewell to mylot. just keep your account active by logging in every now and then. changes happen. for example, my country does not have paypal facility. but members urged paypal to include the phillipines, then it happened some years back that we were able to receive through paypal. mylot, as you said, is great. and i believe you since i experience it too.

That is sad to hear. Like mysdianait said, you can opt not to delete your account. And just log in here to hang around and discuss things just for the fun of it. I'm sure you'd enjoy the company of other mylotters.

Yes, It's helpful site! And I'm gonna use for information basically. And for fun too. I love English language and it's also some kind of practice for me here. Wish me GOOD LUCK and hope someday the things will change. It's not mylot's guilt. It all because of this OFAC.

This is terrible news! We're going to miss you and your English is so good too, what a shame my friend. As a fellow MyLotter is correct in saying, you must keep your account open as things may change for you in the future. Good luck!Honestly, I'm gutted!

stand87, Rules and regulations may change with time, do stay around. Who knows, you may witness another "Berlin Wall" episode in due time. I feel that since you've been around, I am sure you would have had enjoyed the company here. Besides, you can still treat it like another social networking site, where your posts and comments are invaluable. Don't worry about the lack of monetary incentive for the moment, I am sure it will come by in due time. Let it accumulate over time and I am sure you will find it rewarding at the end of the day. Take care and have a nice day reconsidering.

Please come by and visit some time. The friendships you can make here are worth far more than the payout, though I can definitely understand how disappointing the news was to you.

Salute, icesmile ! I'm half-Romanian :) The problem's not with paypal. People from Bulgaria can use paypal. It's about a law or something that prevents mylot from sending money to me. I'll try to contact mylot and ask them about it. Buna seara!

...Hi stand87. I am sorry to hear that you will be leaving the site, but I would echo what the others have said. Stay connected, for certainly the possibility exists that your country will be included in the future, so that your work will earn you somethimg tangible. Check back in every now and then as others have suggested. Take care of yourself.

I think it's alright! Check your preferences-payment information. Down the page you'll read about OFAC. There's a link to the list of countries.
