After I buy new clothes, it is usually I wear it directly without wash it. Just now, I read an article about the need to wash new clothes before wear it. And I am just aware it. That article I think it is correct. There is probably some bacteria is hidden in the new clothes which can cause skin disease. Moreover, in the shop, that clothes are also big possibilities worn by many people which we do not ever know how their health's record. Anyway, how about with you? do you also wear your new clothes directly? or will you need to wash it firstly? what do you think of it?
Best wishes,

YES...always,...you do not know who has tried them on for one...and there is preservatives put in the clothes for shipping that is not healthy and many people are allergic to it. So by all means, take the time to wash them first.
Best wishes!

yes of course i will wash my new clothes frist before wear it. You know new clothes look like it is clean but in fact that there are many bacteria on it on the way they produce those clothes until on our hand. also in shop there are many people that touched clothes and maybe also bugs walked around on clothes that are so dirty and brought many bacteria.

I have done so for a long time now, and this was reinforced when I saw a news report about the bacteria, germs and chemicals on new clothing. They took some items (shirt, pants, underwear) to a lab and got a scientist to test the clothing, he swabbed the items and tested them for bacteria, and found lots! Even on the shirt! Plus there have been reports of formaldehyde being used in clothing as a preservative. That sounds not only gross, but dangerous. Also, I've worked in stores that sell clothing, and even my current place of employment, I see clothing that has been returned and you can tell it's been worn already, and it gets put back on the sales floor more often than not. It's the reality of the retail world, unfortunately.

I always do that. I can't imagine that there's someone else with a skin rash or something has tried the clothes before and I have never known it. I don't want to be paranoid or something, but I just don't want to take the risk of getting skin disease just from wearing the new clothes. Especially for undergarments, I would do that with extra care, I would dip them in the anti bacteria solutions before washing them and wear them. I need to know that it is safe.

Oh, yes--most of them. A new jacket, no. Most things, yes. Underwear, pajamas, etc--definitely!

I personally prefer to wash new clothes before wearing them as I feel that in a shop they may hv remained for days or months and passed through so many hands and might hv also become dirty.Though my husbands makes fun of my this habit, but i still continue with this habit.

Hi Atleya,
Yes, we need to wash clothes that we just bought. We just don't know who tried them on at the store. Germs are easily passed on to us. Also, I don't like the smell of new clothes. They smell the smell of the stores, lol.
But ... before you wash newly bought clothes, make sure to iron them first. This is to preserve the color of the garment. Try it!

Yes, I always wash the new clothes first before wearing it.,we should, because clothes used to wore by other people as they fit to know if the clothes looks good to them or if the size fit them, you said it right..there's probably a bacteria hidden, so we should be very careful to avoid of getting skin disease.

Yes I do wash & I think that is a must as you do not know where the clothes were lying and what the surrounding conditions were- they cd have been even stored in a rat / insect ridden warehouse- so why take a chance and invite infection or illness- so be safe rather than sorry- wash all new clothes before wearing them.

Of course I wash my new clothes. Just the thought of another person whose hygiene habits I don't know about tried on those clothes prior to me purchasing them makes me want to wash them.

Hello atelya
I do not wash my new clothes but after reading your comment here maybe I should.
I undestand about shrinking and stretching can occur after the first wash. I never though about the germs being there from others touching the garment etc. Maybe if we did that more there would less colds and flu going around etc.
Thanks and have a great day

Yes, my mom always wash the new clothes before we wear it. There are many reasons behind it. May be someone else has tried it in shop and another reason can be that new cloth is having some kind of microbes in it or some kind of chemicals which may affect us so we should wash them before we wear for first time.
