May be the story is copies but I admire the move maker for the graphics and visual effects. For me it doesn't matter the story is copied or original but I admire this movie for the presentation. Yes the story was not up to my expectation but still it was good.

I've seen the image and made me think that they do have similarity. Pocahontas didn't cross my mind, since I'm thinking more of Dinotopia, another film that people who appreciate visual effects would love to watch. But I can't find the script to prove my point; you have to watch them both to see from my perspective.

i saw the movie too. it was a fun movie. it is just a story about war and politics that seems to happen over and over again. maybe they keep doing the same thing in movies because people will never learn and they keep creating the same mess.
it is similar to the pocahontas story as well as what has been going on in iraq as well as other wars with other countries. it also reminded me of Star Wars.

to be honest most films now a days are always on the same subject there is only so many times that a new totally different storyline can be made.
Look at all the disaster movies they are always usually a plane or a boat or a natural disaster.
Or action movies its nearly always about cops and there some love scenes a car chase and the good guy always wins etc etc.
So as for Avatar the weak storyline doesn't bother me as most recent movies have weak and predictable storylines.

When I saw the picture,I instantly believe that it's not original. Now I get it why I got the feeling I know how the story would flow when I watched it.

Agreed in all aspects. Selling point of the movie as discussed in the trend is the visual effects of the movie. I guess since we are in an era that lives on technology
much focus was given on how to lure the audience on the graphics that the movie would offer and not much dept on the storyline.
