I had a motorbike accident this morning. I was driving and about to turn right to another road, when all of a sudden, a bike which was traveling fast, tried to overtook me and clashed with my motorbike. The impact was so strong, i lost control and stumbled on the ground. I got couple of bruises and my left arm is now swollen (Good thing that there was no internal or any serious injury, and that i was wearing a helmet).
During the time that the ground was scraping my hands, arms and knees --I was thinking and telling myself "it can't be true"..I was also thinking that "it's the end of the world for me".
What about you? Were you thinking something while you were having an accident?

Hi underdogy
I never went through any accident, but I can feel what would happen if you go through an accident, you are right one will definitely feel that it would be end of life or they may think they may become hadicapped. I wish never in future this may not happen to you and be happy. Have a nice day.

Thanks...I wish it would never happen to you as well. It's a scary situation really one would not want to take place. I cannot imagine me being handicapped either. The thought of it scares the crap of me. It's good to know you never went through any accident. Take care and have a nice day too.

I've had a couple of accidents, both motorcycle and car. Those accidents that I "initiated" were both scary and funny. But the one I couldn't forget was when my friend drove my motorcycle, taking me and another friend home, when the collision happened! Guess what, I didn't wear a helmet! I was battered and bruised! Imagine me screaming "Oh my God...my face, my face!" I chewed out the other driver for knocking us down. I was brought to the emergency room and my eyes were welling up! My mind went blank on the actual accident, but when I got back home, I realized that (1) no one is invincible when we talk about accidents; (2) no matter how a skillful driver you are, accidents still happen (otherwise, it's no longer called accidents, lol) and (3) life is so short, so we have to live it to the fullest. Yet... i love driving! Hopefully, there'll be no more...

Exactly my friend. I couldn't agree more with your statement. You wrote things i would wrote myself if this discussion was posted by other mylot user. Life is indeed short and that we need to live it to the fullest, otherwise it's boring hehe. I wish no accidents too. It's a scary thought eh. It only tell us that no one knows what lies ahead, experienced or inexperienced drivers can have an accident anytime, anywhere. Oppps, welcome to mylot. Hope you will be active this time hehe.

I haven't had an accident like that for many years and I was in shock so have no clue what I was thinking or not. I ended up in the hospital for several weeks and when I woke up and looked in the mirror I said, oh sh....
I'm glad you are ok and do not have any serious injuries. Is your bike torn up badly? Yay, for wearing a helmet too!

Some years ago I was involved in an accident. I was biking, and the street was really slippery because of the rain. I wanted to turn left, but I was going too fast, and I lost control over the bike and fell down on the street. I don't remember my thoughts while the accident happened but afterwards I was feeling really strange.
I had a concussion, and I lost my memory. I didn't recognize the streets, and I didn't remember the name of the place where I worked. At the same time I had a strange feeling that I was dreaming, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't figure out if I was at work when it happened or if I just imagined that I was at work. I just sat down on the sidewalk not knowing what to do. After half an hour I my memory returned, and I was able to tell my co-corkers about my accident.

It's good to know that your memory returned. Were you wearing a helmet during that time? Perhaps it was because of the impact that your brain was jolted. I can't imagine myself losing my memory even for a second. Seems like unbearable. We all have a story to tell time and time again. Thanks for sharing yours. I learned something from it. Have a nice day..

I also had the same accident as you have last year. But mine was because of a dog who was passing across the street. That is why, I stopped dreaming of having my own motorcycle. During that accident, I also think that it is not happing, that it cannot be true. But the next minute, we are already driving towards the nearest hospital and have our bruises be treated. Thinking of it nowadays just drive me crazy, that some point in my life could have just ended in a bit of a second. And I am so thankful the Lord that nothing terrible happens.

Yeah..I am so grateful to the Lord that He did'nt allow something terrible to happen to me. You know what? After the accident, i put some medication to it. Covered my bruises and asked my friend to dropped me off to work. After two hours of work, the wounds started to hurt. I cannot stand it anymore so, I asked my co-worker to take me to the hospital. There the nurse cleaned it. It scares me to drive my bike again.

We are all around with different kinds of accidents in our daily life.Once i was walking along the road, then all of a sudden somebody riding bike nearly collided me.And i did't realise unit he apologized to me.And I didn't get any hurt,so just forget it.
when the accident happened,i always have nothing in my mind.

Yes i agree. Sometimes we don't have anything in mind while having an accident, and then realized that we just had one. Things happen so quick we can't think of good things to at least not to get too hurt.
Sometimes the wounds are so painful i get angry easily. Blame people who don't have anything to do with the accident. My apology to all those people. Anyway, It's good to know you did'nt get hurt.

I can say that i didn't get hurt "A LOT" lol...It's still painful though but not that serious enough. Thanks for empathizing by the way..That word you mentioned cannot be deleted from the scene. I wanna say that to the person who collided with me. I didn't say that upfront because he was so scared of what had happened to me. His eyes were full of empathy too. But i still did say that to him only to myself.

I've been in an accident when I was nineteen, this was back in the 1980's.I wasn't driving, but me and my friends were out drinking and people that have drank too much to drive, they never admit it.The accident happened so fast I don't remember what my thoughts were. There were ne serious injuries though. But the car was smashed up and it was my car. That was my very first car I ever owned.I was upset. It makes me annoyed how people can't admit that they're not ok to drive.I never allowed anyone to drive my car again.I learned a lesson from it.I remember how just because I didn't have a car anymore,I suddenly didn't have any friends.

Ouch...It is really annoying if people won't admit their mistake or say, not drunk and not ok to drive anymore, yet pretend still that everything is ok. So many things can happen because of that, or worst yet,..it can cost someone's life. That's another lesson learned..Never allow people to drive if they are drunk. I was just surprised knowing that because you don't have a car anymore, the people whom you thought your friends, were suddenly gone.

When I was in senior high school I got a bike accident. It was snowing on that morning. My home was a little far away from my school so I have to ride my bycicle to go to class. The road was mostly covered with snow and ice and few of people rided their bike to their workplace even there were almost no car on the road. The time was near the class and I rushed on the bike.I turned right at the corner and suddenly my bike lost control to the left.I tried my best to make it turn right but it was useless. My bike and I were throwed down to the ground. My leg was broken and the bike was damaged a little.I thought that time:"What the hell has happened?what a day and weather".But only for a moment,I had to drag my borken bike and leg to go class.Luckly, I was on time.

Some people say that you can't sometimes think of a better thing to do to get you out of harm's way, especially during an accident. I agree to that statement because we are preoccupied of what had happened or was about to happen. Mental black can be evident too, not to mention other important matters, say family and the like.
After my accident, i sat for a moment thinking and looking at my bike. I can't really believe it happened. Anyhow, it was good you weren't late.
