There are many scriptures that claim to be the word of God, some are contrary to others. Only Jesus Christ lived a life free of sin and therefore only he is in full communion with God. Therefore his words as recorded in the Gospels take precedence over all other scripture both prior to his time and that which came after.

It would be the best answer if it was based on some Logic, instead of wishful thinking, since Nothing in the Bible was written By Jesus Christ, nor by His disciples, and the Statement that "Only Jesus Christ lived a life free of sin" can do Nothing with the authenticity of the Bible.
and urbandekay,
How do you know that Jesus Christ Lived sinless ? Did you stay Him during his existence on the Earth 24 Hours a day, 7 days a week ?
or do you say so because there is no sins mentioned for Jesus in the New testament of The Bible ? and If so, What are the Sins of John the Baptist ?

Catholics and Protestants (followers of Christ) believe that the Bible is God's words written by men who were inspired. The Bible is not a geography or science book; it is meant to instruct human beings to follow the teachings of God (Old Testament) and of Christ (New Testament).

If you read the Bible with for yourself with Open Mind you will find out that not All the Bible is the word of God, The bible Contains some of God's words in it but with hundreds of changes and corruptions made in it over centuries, The Bible contains a mixture from God's words, and words of God's Prophets, and also words of Unknown people, All under one cover in the Bible.
I have started a discussion about this, Unfortunately I got no valuable answer nor there was any serious comment regarding the discussion.

Dear friend,
i didn't talk about the quaran, actually i'm talking about the bible and i'm saying that there are a lot of mistakes and contradictions, and we aren't talking about the quaran now.
Actually, i am claiming that there are a lot of scientific mistakes in the bible and i'm ready to expose them if you want.
And concerning the quaran, my specialty is the comparison of the religions. And i think you won't find any scientific mistake in the quaran because one of the miracles of the quaran "are the scientific proves" more than this if you don't understand arabic, you can't understand "the quaran", i personally speak 5 languages and i learned the religions and i know what i'm talking about :). for more information write just in youtube "miracles of the quaran" and you will find some british scientists who are talking about that. Otherwise you don't speak arabic so you won't understand the quaran by reading it

First of all - Speaking to one above who said that there had never been any changes in the Quran:
Wrong – there have been changes, and there’s a website that tells of it.
But we’re not supposed to post weblinks here, or so I’ve been told.
Secondly – the Bible wasn’t just written by “men” – it says that it was written by “Holy men of old, who were moved upon by the Holy Ghost.” If the words therein cannot be accepted as true, then we are all in peril, for Christ spoke of Him being the door to heaven, as well as THE WAY.
He was not just a man – but God come in a flesh and blood body, to live among us as an example. One of His names prophecied to be Immanuel was interpreted as “God with us.” {In the new testament} and He was also referred to as “THE MIGHTY GOD” in Isaiah 9 (over 400 yrs. before his birth.)
Excavations are bringing forth proof of the Bible’s validity in our lifetime.
When Jesus said you must be ‘born again’ – that is a ‘spiritual experience’ not something that takes place through infant baptism, or church attendance, or trying to live right.
Paul said that if anyone is in Christ, that person becomes a new person - - and for those of us that have experienced this, we are indeed “new creations” through the work of the Holy Spirit, by accepting Christ as our Saviour, and believing what He said.
Rejecting the Bible {which contains God’s words} is just what the devil did in the beginning, and how he got Adam and Eve to question. When they doubted, after they’d heard God for themselves, they opened the door to humanity for deception, and looking for another avenue to be “spiritual” – or to just become our own god, and of course when that happens, we are not reachable by what the scriptures say, because we are rejecting God’s words.
I wish you peace.

Yes the Bible was the word of God when it was not changed/altered by the people who came after Prophet Jesus(pbuh). Now it has become doubtful due to such man- made changes. Therefore there was a need of a divine book which should be divinely protected for guidance of mankind till the Last Day.So God Almighty revealed the last book, the Holy Quran to the final Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)which has remained unchanged for centuries. It is also a live miracle of Islam that thousands of Muslims in each country have memorized this holy book by heart even if Arabic is not their mother language.Even seven year old children have memorized it.It is not an easy thing to memorize such a big book by heart but God Almighty has made it easier for us to do that with the divine intention to protect it in our hearts. No other book of such size has this characteristic in this world.God Almighty says:
"THIS IS OUR BOOK AND WE ARE ITS PROTECTORS."(The Holy Quran)..

1400 centuries? The Quran is 1,400,000 years old? I had no idea there were God words that old.

Hi NefariousFox.
You wrote...
---1400 centuries? The Quran is 1,400,000 years old? ---
Perhaps Tushavi made a typo. But then I understand some Babylonian literature in dealing with genealogies of rulers reaches that point.
--I had no idea there were God words that old. --
No ye not that God is eternal?

I honestly believe that many things from the bible are not words of god. I think people should actually be more concerned on how the interpret the information. I honestly and truly believe that the bible has more to do with astrology than most other things in my opinion. This is the way I interpret it. All I can say is look deep within in the lines of what the bible is really talking about and what the meanings are.

You can be sure that the Bible is the word of God. What other book compares to it? The science, history and prophecy has been proven correct. Throughout it's history there as always been someone who has tried to prove it a mere myth, but no one has ever been able to. What other book as been written over thousands of years by many different writers, but still all the different books within the Bible still manages to harmonize with each other? The Bible is the word of God and can be trusted.

After reading your discussion with PastorP about four legged chickens and flying reptiles, I did what you suggested to him and when to someone who reads Hebrew. This person is a college professor and has a doctorate in Old Testament Hebrew from Yale University. According to the Professor, what the Hebrew literally says in Lev. 11:20 is, "Every swarming-thing the-flying-thing the-one-going on four, detestable is it to all-y'all."
As far as your original question goes, yes, I do believe the Christian Bible is the word of God. It has never been proven wrong, but has been proven right. There is no god like our God, who loves and cares for us. Why would anyone want to choose another?

In olden days whatever they have told, and practiced, still it is relevant and we follow it.Similarly We can not dispute the sayings in any way. Good thought were put in the Holy Bible, Quran, BhaghavatGita etc;
