What do being single means

I am still single and living alone in my house but I am not lonely or sad. I have my computer, get out from time to time with my friends and enjoy life. So it's depend on you how you are going to face your daily life. Be and enjoy life

...Hi stand, Now I am going to lecture you a bit here. So please forgive me in advance. I have a friend, who has a problem connecting with women and he always wants to be in a relationship, but they always fall apart and he too is sad. I try to tell him, you have to first be happy with yourself. You have to be content by yourself, and to be redundant enjoy the company of you. Because no one else is going to be able to make you happy, if you are unhappy being you. They can add to your happiness but they cannot bring all your happiness to you I don't believe. It must come from within you and flow outward. If someone does bring happiness to you, it will be fleeting, and then you are back to being with yourself. Even if you are married. It is too much to ask of someone, make me happy all the time. Also impossible for them to do. You have to be secure enough to be content with yourself, this is what I have told him and what I am telling you. I love my singleness, I can laugh, enjoy a dinner or a movie by myself. I have traveled by myself and loved it. I like people, but have no problem being alone. We have to love ourselves in a healthy way and find happiness being with ourselves. You can do it. Practice enjoying the company of yourself. "o) It's a good thing.

Some people say single people have a sad life. NO. They have friends that makes them happy. Some say, no one cares for them. That's also a lie. They have God and a family who loves them. The reason why they are still is because they look forward for a long term relationship at the right time with the right person and not just for an experience. =)

I would say, beign free. You do not have to be sad, when you are single. This only means, you can have so much more fun. Don,t you worry, you will not stay single for long, as i blieve, every pot eventually gets his or her own lid. Just take it easy and have fun. Do not rush into aything.

single is being free? HEHE. sometimes single benefits more than those in a relationship. you are loved, but you just need time. look into the bright side, we can love whoever we want to love without hurting someone. ^^

Well according to me being single has a very simple meaning. Being single means thinking about yourself only. If you are single it means you are thinking only about yourself. If you have to think about others apart from yourself then it will not come under the category of a "single". To be called a free person means you have no time for others. You are single. Have a nice day friends.

i think you can have a lot of fun if you are single. you have no one to report to, no one that wants to know where you are going, you can eat when you want, do what you want, etc. how great is that?

Ugh.. thats a hard topic. I'd love to find the special someone who I can be with forever but being "free" has its advantages too. You don't have to worry about making the other person mad/sad/etc.. and you can do what you want and whenever you feel like doing so. But with someone else on your side its a lot harder. There have been a lot of times when a friend of mine wanted to do something with us but couldn't because if his girlfriend. It might be a little annoying but than those people seem to be happy that they have found the special someone. As for myself.. I'm not sure. I do like my life how it is now but as I already said. I would rather have someone on my side than living alone forever... :s

To me single meeans freedom and to be happy. I can do what I want when I want. I don't have to answer to anyone. I have my privacy. I am not sad being lonely or that I'm not loved. I do get lonely but everyone does. For me I wish i could have someone in my life. I doubt it will happen. It takes to much time and hard work to be with someone. I am alos hard to understand and when a person can't do that they turn on me and I end up being used. I can't go through that anymore! I'm better off being alone.

At this point in my life, if I was to find myself being single, I truly would be sad and depressed. However, if I was not a parent at this point in time, I don't know exactly how I would feel. I always took breakups really hard, but I was always okay after the initial shock. However, I had also never been in a relationship that was eight years old, so now I think that I really would be lost with my life and myself.

Sometimes i feel bad, especially when i see that all of my friends are already married with kids ( but there are some who are single parents as well). I want to get married, but i don`t want to force myself to have relationship with someone who doesn`t understand me/ i don`t love. What i do now is enjoy, focus on job, keep making friends and be selective. because i planned to get married before, then i decided not to continue my relationship because he is not honest about himself

I guess a little bit of both. I like companionship, but I don't like to feel trapped or controlled. I think everyone looks at their relationship status differently. I don't think being single is all that bad.

it means freedom! sad is for the lone, loner and lonesome unless it's their personality. well, this is just me wanting to single when my significant other nags around, lol. there're lot of ways to be happy, and being single doesn't get kicked out from the list. those who feel hell rather than heaven in their relationships choose being single to be happy.

For me, to be single is to be free. Sure you have times when you are lonely, but I personally have a great circle of friends. I would love to meet a special someone, but am in no hurry to find someone just because. I have been single for most of my life, as opposed to some people who always seem to have a boyfriend. So i have always been very independent in that sense. It takes a certain kind of guy to catch my attention and make me find time for him.

Being single means different things to different people. For some it's good, for others it's sad. Depends on the person. For me at the moment, it's sad.

You won't be alone forever! I think being single means being free. Fre to do anything you want and see anyone you want. If you are married , then Must do what your partmner wants. ps. As long as you can private message me, you trully Won't be all alone. If you ever need to talk , write.

It really depends on what your mind set is. Do you feel you are not whole unless you have someone in your life? Do feel strong about who you are, where you are going in your life, and what your goals are? If you aren't then you aren't ready to have someone in your life and you may feel alittle sad about that.

being single means you have all the right to enjoy life whatever way you want. I think you will be able to love your self more if you are single. you will give more importance to yourself than anybody else. It is nice to be single once in a while. Well, it's true that it's lonely but you have friends anyway.

This discussion reminds of that statement shirt which says "Single and Ready to Mingle." and maybe it is. Being single means able to mingle LOL. I think being single is having more time for yourself.

Being single even when we are above the average age for marriage is normal case in city.We just not meet the right person,but I believe I will.I think single is better than together with a man that not the cup of my tea.We are named the "residual girl/boy" in china.But we have family, friends, belief and more.We can do something meaningful,such as help those people who need our help,do exercise to keep health, learn more to inprove ourselves, do something we are interested,hiking and so on.
