Do you prefer to work for others or be your own boss? To me, I really hope to be my own boss and work my own flexible hours. However, to achieve that, I need to save up more money to open my own business in the near future. I am still an employee now, but I really hope to be my own boss as soon as possible. What about you? Are you an employee in a company or you have your own business? Are you happy with your current situation? If you have a choice, which option would you choose? Working for others or be your own boss? I guess both these choices have their advantages and disadvantages as well. Do you agree?

I prefer to be my own boss. I have worked for others and have been self employed. For the past 10 years I have worked on my own and also held a job where I was the employee. I needed that financial stability of knowing I had a paycheck coming from somewhere other than from my own devices. 3 months ago I started with only working as my own boss. I have worked long enough as my boss and have had my own business long enough to know what I need to make it financially and work towards making that the minimum goal. I work harder but being my own boss has advantages that make the work satisfying. I like being able to set my own schedule and having my own priorities. Being my own boss only has been worth the wait.

I have done both been an employee and also working for me,
I can hand on my heart say being your own boss is totally awesome, I started my company up 10 years ago doing affiliate marketing and 10 years on I still have it.
It is hard work being your own boss as there's no one to blame if you don't succeed but think about all the money you make for your boss,
when you are your own boss the money you make goes to you woo hoo happy days.
Not to mention no rush hours and as many holidays as you want.
Not sure why anyone would want to be an employee he he he

I hope your dream will come true soon. I also hope to be my own boss because I can make the final decision. I have flexible working hours and the income is either good or bad. If it is good, then it will be a good profit. It is better than a fixed salary.

I would prefer to be my own boss, but there is a lot to be considered. Nothing is ever as easy as it seems, that is think of the expenses you'd be making for supplies etc, and if you were to have employees paying them, getting health benefits for them, and also keeping up the location of which your business is. I mean, a leaky roof or even faucet would need repairs and fast, especially if your a restaurant owner. None the less I would love to be able to have my own business, maybe something like crocheting, knitting and sewing, something I could do from home, whenever I want and whilst doing something else like watching t.v.! Plus when hubby and I have kids I could stay at home and watch them and work around them... When baby's a napping if I'm not tirec I could crochet for instance. Well good luck in all you do and have a wonderful day.

it is much better if you'll be your own boss.you can help yourself as well as help others.you will learn a lot when running your own business.you will learn how to be a great leader, how to take risks, and to work on your passions.you will not get financially successful when you are working in a company.

If it's just a choice, of course i would like to be my own booss, without the various restriction in company, i will do as i wish , go for a trip as i wish, i don't need to care about others'faces
But i don't have enough money to start up a business. So i have to work for others to accumulate a certain amount of money,i think after this pocess,i will runmy own company, responsible for the toal profot and loss.
Owning a business, u goto care for the operation ,not just for the huge money taken up ,at risk,u have your employees'hopes in hand, u goto care about the too.Being an empolyee ,has little risk, but it's a little misery, because ,you don't have many resourses at hand,if u wanto do a big business.

Personally, if I could work for myself, then I would. I don't mind working under someone else. Working for someone else can really give you experience for the time when you do decide to go to work for yourself. I wish that I could go to work. I love being home with my son all day, but it gets to me alot. When I work, I feel like I am bringing money to the home and helping out.

modesty aside, i'm so industrious. i can work for longers hours if needed. realizing the benefits of my characteristic should i work for myself, i set a goal, to become my own boss by the age of 30. i was an employee since i was 18 and became an entreprenuer right at age of 30. the feeling is really different! you have the control on almost everything. its hard indeed especially when problems arise but i always look at it as a benefit and even challenged myself to improve more.

I choose to be my own boss. in this situation, you can manage your own time most especially the time we spent to our family. We have only one lifetime and spending most of our time working for others is just a waste of your time here on earth. Its great to be your own boss, your will be satisfied with your life.

I've been offically out of work for about six months or so. I personally didn't like working under someone. Not that I really had much of a choice. But, aside from being completely out of work, except myloting I think I'm doing preaty good. I mean I'm getting by and every little bit helps somewhat so that's always good.

Its a very difficult question that goes easily answered.
Many of us wish of running our own microsoft's, apple or HP ! my father works as a n area manager and if you look at the post, you're kind of a boss (to the ppl below you) and you are questionable by the company (whose employee you are)
To become a successful boss, you have to walk in the shoes of an employee first. you have to learn their ups and downs, their strengths and weaknesses.
you have to meet their demands too.then only they will give you sweet returns.
simply being a boss and saying "Forget your mom and start working, private !", doesnt work.
For me, i would like to be a boss but before that i would like to be an employee so that i can understand how and what to expect from an employee

its obvious that being a boss is lot better than working under someone....
i think u r right in saying that both have their own advantages and disadvantages but i feel being the boss is like holding the authority and u r like the king so i prefer being a boss...

I would definitely want to be my own boss and to work at my own time. But working for yourself is not as easy as it sounds. You would have to be disciplined enough to manage your time. Plus, when you own your business, you have to worry about the operation of the whole business instead of just a specific job. So I agree with you that there are advantages and disadvantages in having your own business.

I'm an employee for about 5 years. I become clerk, secretary & now sectary still but on a different field. It's really stressful I went out to do collections. Ever since I hope to have our own business and being the boss and promise to treat my own workers well. If there are disadvantages between having own business or working for others maybe it is the 13th month salary that employers must gave to her employees imagine how much money they need to pull out from the business for their workers and to the side of the employee it's an advantage. lols, But the advantages of having your own business is you can have something what you can call your OWN and it's less stressful, and the disadvantage for being employee is that you have the chances to be FIRED.

there are different categories of people.... and all have different mindsets....
the mindset of an EMPLOYEE is such that he seeks security...
the mind set of a SELF EMPLOYED (a professional such as a doctor, lawyer) is one who seeks control....
a BUSINESS MAN would seek to have system in place..
and INVESTOR would focus on how much ROI(return on investment) he can generate...
before making this shift you have to identify what is more important to you.... because when planning to make a shift from the "employee" to "business" , people usually get stuck in "self employed"
The big difference between the business and self employed is that of a system. A self employed builds a business that is dependent on him. If he is not physically present, the business suffers. Lets say a doctor, if he is on a vacation, he can not treat his patients and the income stops.
But if the same doctor builds up a hospital, and creates a system. Builds up his team of doctors. His business would not suffer if he is not physically present at the hospital. because he built up a sound system. Building up a system can be difficult, because initially the income is very low. If you can choose to work for less money and build up that system, it pays rich in the long term.
I think it is a good choice you are making. Hope you make a big business.
Best wishes:)

straighaway, without blinking, i prefer being my boss, liumay. well, it's not easy when you have to consider a lot of things, particularly the area you want to go to business as your own boss. some but need a little setting up, like capital, manpower, technology and equipment. but there are also others that hardly need capital, like what is teeming in front of you, when you are surfing. frankly, i did some checking on those home-based businesses, but i haven't made any significant progress yet. whenever i reach a point that i have to purchase something, i stop. it's difficult to separate what's real and what's not, in terms of income generation. so, i continue with my professional consultancy in public relations and publishing, writing and editing for clients and organizing campaigns for image/brand buildups. i've been doing this for the last 15 years and i manage to make enough for my family, including my children's college education. the key is, if you go into self-employment, it should be in the field you know best and love to do. that provides you a good impetus plus, doing it in the field you are already familiar gives you an edge in terms of contacts, a vital component in doing business.

in fact i believe everyone prefer to become the boss, because it is more free and getting more salary.but in this finacial surrounding, i have not enough confidence and funds to create new company.being a succeful boss not only require the conspicuous power and intelligence, but also the wide net of all people and the social skill.
