My first reaction will be to doubt and of course I would not want to believe that. However, if it is really true I will be really scared. I will be scared not for my self but for my 4 months old baby. There's a news going around and even discussions in the net, forums and even in the Discovery Channel that this year of 2012 we might all die. They said that Scientists found out that there is a tenth planet (not really a planet but some kind of small galaxy) that will hit the Earth this coming December 2012. They even discussed that this is the reason the Mayan calendar is only until December 2012. They said that the US Government is keeping this as a secet. I really don't want to read the discussions regarding this topic especially in the Discovery Channel because it gives me goosebumps. The first thing that came into my mind was poor baby of mie. If that will be true then he will not even be able to make it on his 3rd birthday. I still don't want to believe it even no matter how many proofs they show just to validate this theory. I choose not to believe it and I do really hope, wish and pray (even If I am not a religious type of person) that this is not true. Please tell me friends that this is not true. :(

There's no proof to support that claim yet. Anyways, if it happens, it happens. There's nothing that we can do about it. So why worry?

Yeah. You're right. Maybe I am just worrying over something that I am not even sure if true. This could be the effect of watching too much sci- fi movies and reading sci- fi novels. Add to that the fact that I only watch Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and National Geographic nowadays. It is just kind of creepy sometimes the things that they show in those channels. Maybe I should try watching more entertaining T.V. Programs sometimes.

Hi,Ladyslipper
i think you needn't always keep this in your mind.If it really happends,no matter how seriously you are worrying now,it just happens.
Why not enjoy your life instead of thinking something unknown.
Maybe when the day comes,a lot people won't be scared but feel regret——I have many places to go/i have many friends should be cherished/there is so much more left to say.....and so on
i just want to say now is more importment lol
Have a good day in everyday////

Yes. I agree to that. What is important is today so we have to make each day worthwile. Worrying about that thing might just depress me. I would stop thinking and worrying about it. :) Instead I would think of something positive.

Hi...Ladyslipper
A good username. Mayan Calendar, Nostardams etc...etc.... why to believe all these things. Do we have any guarantee that we are going to live up to that 2012 December. If we have that guarantee, then we have to worry. In the past six months how many lives lost because of floods and hurricanes. So we cant predict or foresee such things. Even if it ends on 2012, we are helpless. we have to face the the reality. So dont worry be happy with your baby

Thanks. You got a point there. I should stop worrying what will happen on 2012 and focus instead on what is happening right now. Instead of worrying about that 2012 thing which I am not even sure if true I should spend more quality time with my family especially my husband and baby boy. Whatever happens in the future what is important is that we will be together to face it. If something uncontrollable will happen then I can't really do something about it so I guess I will just use my energy doing more important things rather than worrying about that 2012 topic. :)

I am scared... I dont want to think that 2012 will really happen... It could just somehow thwart me from doing something... if its true then I will just wait for that year to come... if thats the end of life, we can nothing but wait for that exact day. I watch 2012, alone. The theater was so fall that time, at the first night... excited to watch whats really behind the title 2012.

To be honest with you I did not like the movie that much. People were comparing it to modern Noahs ark which for me is not true. What I hate about the story is that most of the people who were saved were those people who don't even care for other people's welfare (selfish people). Most of them were saved because they have the means to pay for their lives. What a perfect portarayal of one of human's disgusting characteristic. I mean, they were supposed to be the people who will continue human race right?

It is scary to think of these things especially when your a parent. I fear what is in store for my children just with how things are going in the world right now. I'm not sure if the world is going to end. They were saying it would in 2000 remember? I ended up staying at my mom's just so she would feel safer...lol. If it does happen then we just need to understand that it is fate. But you can't ignore your fears about it because that is natural.

Hi Ramsey!
It feels good that you understand how I feel. :) Sometimes there will be things that will scare us even if we're not even sure if that is really going to happen. Most of the time the reason for this is because we are scared not for our selves but for the people we love and consider very improtant in our life.

Yeah, me too. I don't want it to end so soon. However, it is not because I still have dreams that I want to achieve but for me it is because I want my child to have a chance to grow and enjoy life. He is just 4 months old you know. So just in case that 2012 thing happen he will just be 2 years old then.

I don't believe the world will end in 2012. The world didn't end in 2000 like many people though it would. If the world were to end in 2012 then I would live my life one day at a time. I wouldn't loot or anything like that. I would live my life as if there is always a tomorrow.

I would also do the same thing. I would live my life to the fullest. I will spend time with my friends and all people I care about. "Live life as if there is always tomorrow." Well said. :) This is an inspiring one. Full of hope and so optimistic. :)

The Big Event will be, at most, all our digital technology being fried by the massive solar storm that's due to happen around that time, courtesy of our dependence on Things Up There (i.e. satellite signals). Which could well lead to The End Of Civilization - but not as we know it, Jim.
Remember, to the Mayans, their world was the ONLY world; even if they did see something in their calendar, they were thinking about events as they would pertain to them. Maybe they did foresee weather disruptions, floods, earthquakes - they're all possible events in 2012. But they're hardly Armaggeddon.
I'd say, get some groceries in, buy some factor 500 for your little one - and enjoy some brilliant sunsets.

Hahaha! You made me laugh on the last part of your comment. Yeah you're right. Maybe I should start doing that especially that it's raining for almost 4 days already where I am right now. And then just about 5 days ago there was an earthquake here. Just a mild one though. I believe that's one of the reasons the topic scared me a little. It made me connect the things that have been happening here to what they were discussing. I could be such a worrywart sometimes.

Well honestly I would not even worry about this theory. I personally think people are getting too spooked about this story. I also think this whole doomsday thing is getting out of hand. There is really no claim good enough to make this story true. One thing could have many different meanings to many different people just like the bible has different interpretations to different people. Don't worry about 2012. If I actually met you and knew you I would spend that whole day with you. We could just sit outside all night and look at the stars. Don't be afraid of this date. I strongly feel that nothing will happen.

Yeah. I guess it is just the same thing as the year 2000 crap which they also prophesied as the End of the World. Thanks a lot to those who have responded. Your responses made me feel better. :) I just don't know what is with the "End of the World" topic that people are so interested in knowing when or if it will ever happen.

The world could really end at any time. However, I somehow doubt that it is going to happen during December 2012. I am going to go onto my life. I think by the time that day comes, when there are people who are freaking out, I am going to be laughing and just enjoying my life. And if it ends, it ends. I doubt there is going to be any time to think about it. I think when the world does end, it will be poof, gone, over.

Yes you are right! Why waste our time and energy thinking about something that we're not even sure when to happen. Rather than getting my self depressed because of thinking about it It's better to live and enjoy our life to the fullest.

No one can predict what will happen to the world in the future.. Only GOD knows His plans in this world.. If He thinks that we are not worthy anymore to live in this world then so be it.. But predicting that the world will come to its end two years from now is a big no no no.. Maybe we are just influenced by the movie 2012 isn't it..? Come to think of this, the movie is a FICTION and was created as a result of the wild imagination of the Director/Writer of that movie.. We don't have to worry guys because the world won't end by 2012.. In 2013 maybe.. Hahaha.. Just kiddin'! Cheer up!

I was actually thinking about how it has a lot of parallelism with the movie 2012. The question is, "Is the discussion regarding the end of the world this coming 2012 caused by the movie or is it the end of the world this coming 2012 that has inspired the movie?" If you will ask me this question, then I would prefer the first answer. That this was just a result of that movie I also watched. :)

don't worry about it , if it is true , no one on the earth can get away from it , and all that we can do is not to be afraid of it . just to make everyday of present better , and enjoy each moment of our life .
anyway , calm down , try to love everything before your eyes .

I would make sure that I will have all of my dreams within the 2 years.
And be happy. Leave no regrets and do everything you wanted to do.
That's what I think.
But I think there is still no valid proof for this end of the world thing.
Even the NASA denies it.
But it is also possible that the government will keep this away from the people as to keep the mass from panicking.

Hahaha! This topic is kind of crazy. Have you watched the movie 2012? They have some parallelism. That's why I'm beginning to think the topic just got so sensationalized because of that movie. Remeber the Blairwitch Project movie? People kept talking about it and even said that it was a story based on true life experience. I don't know if that's true but I'm kind of skeptical that it is. If there will be one thing though that I will really wish not to happen even if there is still no proof then it will be the 2012 thing they are talking about.
