Someone here in myLot told me about that idea being mentioned in the movie 2012. Is it true? The only thing I know is that we humans are really supposed to eat veggies only, but when they run out, we can resort to eating some meat. But I didn't know that it is punishable by God. That scared me.:( But I know priests who eat meat.

Our original food prescribed by God was fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds. But after the flood we could eat animals as food as long as we didn't eat the blood.
Genesis 1:29 (New International Version)
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
Genesis 9:3-4 (King James Version)
3Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
When God's new world comes, we will probably be going back to a vegetarian diet and even the animals will be vegetarians.
Isaiah 11:6-9 (Young's Literal Translation)
6And a wolf hath sojourned with a lamb, And a leopard with a kid doth lie down, And calf, and young lion, and fatling [are] together, And a little youth is leader over them.
7And cow and bear do feed, Together lie down their young ones, And a lion as an ox eateth straw.
8And played hath a suckling by the hole of an asp, And on the den of a cockatrice Hath the weaned one put his hand.
9Evil they do not, nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For full hath been the earth with the knowledge of Jehovah, As the waters are covering the sea.

Thank you! I need that exact passage where he says what to eat. But I just wanna ask: what does He mean by "4But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat"? That it's okay to eat the meat but not the blood? Why do you think is that so?

You're welcome! This passage will help you understand it better. We can eat any animal as food if that is what we want to do. We do not need to eat any meat to survive. There are many vegetarians and they are even healthier than meat eaters. But if we should choose to eat meat, the animal needs to be properly bled so that we don't consume the blood. Notice the instructions:
Leviticus 17:10-14 (New International Version)
10 " 'Any Israelite or any alien living among them who eats any blood—I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people. 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. 12 Therefore I say to the Israelites, "None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood."
13 " 'Any Israelite or any alien living among you who hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain out the blood and cover it with earth, 14 because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, "You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off."

In Edan god said to Adam and Eve that they can eat all fruits and veggies. It was the rule.
I am vegetarian, but I don't judge others. Do what your heart is telling you to do and don't be afraid.

Because I didn't know that it was a rule. I would've wanted to be vegan to free myself of all the guilt.. Anyway, if God really made animals to be eaten by humans, then that's fine. It's hard to turn vegan, you know, especially when you've been a carnivore all through your life.

I don't know.. probably it depends on his religion. But in my own belief, (and based on our Bible as well) God does not forbid us to eat meat.. actually He even created those creatures for us to eat.. but of course, everything should be with balance.. because if we overeat, eating becomes a sin.. God longs for us to enjoy any foods, but of course we should always eat ONLY with satisfaction.. We eat to live, not that we live to eat.. :)
In some religions however, they only stay away from the blood because it's a symbol of life..

Muslims or Moslems, together with other religious sect in the Philippines believe that pork is not clean that is why they don't eat it. One muslim slapped a waitress because she was not told there was pork in her meal. As for me, Catholic, I can eat everything I want even pork's blood except Good Friday coz my mom wants me to abstain on this day. No meat. Only fish or bread.

I never heard anything like that before in my life. If anything it's a sin not to eat any type of meat. It seems like your body won't get proper the nurishments without meat, despite what all these vegans and fanatics say. Back in biblical times, man use to go out and hunt lions and deer and for his food and to clothe himself. Now, it is a sin to hunt animals for sport and vanity purposes (Bear skin rugs, mooseheads on walls) but if it's to keep you warm and feed yourself then you doing what you suppose to do. Of course there are some animals that we're not suppose to touch because their unclean and not safe to eat. God will definant punish the cannibals. If there were really a group of people stranded on... let's say Gilligan's Island (lol), we humans are at the top of the food chain. It would take time, but we'd resort back to our anicent ancestral roots, why hunt each other for our flesh, that ain't how our ancestors did it. It was too many goats, cattle, and oxes running around.
