Something weird happened this morning. 2 of our PCs in the office can not start. The process always stop at Windows logo.
I tried using Windows CD to repair, and to my surprise, the windows folder is in drive D!!!.
I always split my harddisk to 2 partition, C is for windows and program and D is for data. I googled to find out why it happen, but don't get a good explanation.
So Mylotters, does any of you ever meet this kind of problem?
How can I repair and change back my system to drive C?
Thanks

thats strange?! i never encountered the same problem but i would suggest that you better start backing up important files in case worst things happen.

I don't know how this happened I can only tell you that if you get stuck with windows and there is a big problem that can't be repaird by safemode or system repair i suggest using ultimate boot cd for windows. If you need more info just ask, good luck.

its quite impossible buddy. i think the real active installment of windows xp may be still in c: ..perhaps someone had tried to install the os in d: but for somereason deleted most of it. i say pop in your win xp cd and repair the os. follow the onscreen instructions.

That's exactly what I did. I put win xp cd and try to repair in command prompt. And I got in D:\Windows
Every data was in C:\
So I tried to repair the installation, and windows that's been detected is D:\Windows. And when I tried to follow the instruction to repair it, I got blue screen.
But now, I already reinstall the windows :)
Thanks

I've done that. I run chkdsk /R and find no problems.
I got advise from a friend that he had the same problem last month and can fix it with "Acronis Partition Expert". But to my regret, WHY do I found out how to fix AFTER I REINSTALL my PC??
Anyway, thank you all for your responses.
