As litendark says it was created by Ingvar Kamprad, hence the name IKEA. It stands for Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd. Elmtaryd is from name of the farm(!) where IKEA was created in 1943, and Agunnaryd is the name of the village in Småland, a county in south Sweden. The first IKEA was opened in the town of Älmhult, in Småland.
