my 5 year old daughter is in Pre K and can read and write sentences. Sometrhing that I do different than a lot of people is spend a lot of time with my daughter learning new words and reading books. Many people put their children in daycare and expect the school to do all the work. I hope to have a very smart daughter and she loves to learn on her own so she just makes it that much more fun and interesting. We always come up with new activities and she doesn't even realize that she is learning something new so it's wonderful to spend spare time doing this.

my mom used to teach us writing and reading books when we were kids.she would spend her free time with us learning at home.we didn't go to kindergarten and yet we were accepted as first-grade pupils.i'm sure your daughter would grow up smart because of all your efforts.keep it up.:)
