What are some of your study habits?

When I sit down to study I turn off everything that I find a distraction, including music and the computer (I never watch TV, but if I did then I would turn that off too). I keep my school notebook by my side to take notes. I also have a personal notebook out because if I get distracted by thinking about something else that I need to do, I can write it down in my other notebook so I won't worry about whatever it is while I'm trying to study.

I usually leave TV or music playing on the background, because I am not used to work in complete silence. If I am having problems with remembering some formulas, I write them down to those note papers and place them on the wall by the computer or on the bathroom wall, so they are often in my sight. It really helps to memorize the things. Just place the text you need somewhere, where you could see it many times a day, and keep checking the notes, you'll memorize them soon!;)

I also do the same thing Biomechanoid. When I'm studying in complete silence, the tendency is that I will doze off soon, so I prefer studying with some noise. I usually watch TV since it has an effect on my studies. It makes me associate some things that I'm studying to certain portions of what I'm watching. It makes it easier for me to remember them just by thinking of what I was watching and studying at that time.

Hi junaed! Wow, I'm impressed that you really take time to make your own tests. How big of a help did it give you on actual tests? Because I think if you would be making your own questions then certainly you would get a perfect score? I think this is a good idea. I should try this some time!

Yeah, those are also the things which i do when i am studying but I could leave the music alone being play on a low volume as sweet music even makes me think fast it inspires. For me it is best to study during the wee hours of the morning as my mind is still working fresh and compare to studying at night session as i observe when i study that i already know it but after i wake up in the morning all the things i study during the night is also forgotten by me. So I prefer to study during the day.

I'm with biomechanoid. Formulas, diagrams, any pertinent information I can fit on a 3x5 card gets put on the wall. I also write on mirrors with a dry erase marker. I have kind of a non-conventional approach to studying, but it works. As far as music and t.v. I usually don't care. The music I listen to depends entirely on what I'm doing. Being a student, for me, is kind of a lifestyle. I try to incorporate my writing and curriculum into everyday life. I think I retain it better that way.

I have to study in silence. I study for ten minutes and then I have a little break. I can't sit and study for hours together (I don't remember anything afterwards). I make my own notes from textbooks and I combine them with those from classes. Then I solve previous year's exams. I read the text many times and then I try to memorize it by looking away from the book and repeating the text.
