It depends on the dream. Life can give us opportunities later than we hoped, without the dream being lost entirely. For instance, I have always wanted to be an anthropologist with a degree in cultural anthropology. I'm fifty-one years old, but I'm within one year of completing my degree in cultural anthropology. Would I have liked to have it done in my twenties? Of course. Will I give up because it's coming later in life? Of course not.

I love your positive thinking. I became a nurse at 42 years old. I've never regretted any of it...well, maybe the student loans!

Oh, wow! I admire you a lot! Not all people able to chase and live their dreams forever.Congratulations! I've known someone who give up her dreams because she has already a family and have children to look after to, but then later in life she regretted, not because of her family, but because she give up too soon to chase her dreams. Yeah, it could be depend on the kind of your dreams, if the dream is possible to attain until getting old, then it's fine, but when it comes to being a president, or celebrity, then that could be quite impossible. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy the rest of the weekends!

We've had some presidents who were quite old or in poor health when elected, such asd Ronald Reagan. It's unusual for someone to become a female pop star in their forties, for instance, but a lot of men don't become well known as actors, for instance, until their thirties or forties.
The woman you know who stopped chasing her dream might want to consider what she will want to do when the youngest child is in school or has graduated from high school, for instance. Many women find themselves freed of family responsibilities and with the chance to do what they want for themselves when the last one starts or finishes school.
All the best to you.

I haven't really given up, but I think I've accepted that not all of these things are going to happen.

Some things have a limited window of opportunity, and there are some that just don't seem as important when you're older. It's important to consider what you really want to do, and if one form is no longer possible, as yourself what else fills the same desire and what you have discovered that may be even more desirable now that you have some experience in life.

NEVER give up on chasing and living your dreams! You will never be able to predict how long you will live, and could have many more years living that dream! I think as long as you are able to chase, get to chasing!

Yeah, you're right! as long as we live, we still have a chance to achieved our dreams, the key is to be optimistic and be enthusiastic. Although that could be easier said than done, but we have no other choice, it's all up to us. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy the rest of the weekends!

If our dreams are very important to us then we continually work till we achieve them. So keep at it. Things have a way of changing. One day they may seem so far away and then suddenly they are within our reach. Things that are important to achieving our dreams are such things as: perseverance, persistence, and optimism.

Probably...NEVER!!!
I know it's a bit over optimistic. But I think the moment that you give up on your dreams that's when you stop living. You can put it on hold, sure. But you're not supposed to give up.

Hey careguarden! I don't think that anyone really has to ever
give up on living their dreams! I think that sometimes you
just might have to change them around a bit! I had all kinds
of dreams when I was younger and some were crazier than others!
And now that I am older and in some case wiser (and in others
not so much) I have realized that I can only do so much! But,
I do know that I can still dream until the day I leave this
earth! No one can take your dreams away from you!
