I used to eat white rice because that's the common rice in the market. But I found out that brown rice is better for it contains more fiber than white. and brown is better especially when you want to lose weight.. so I started eating brown rice, at first I didnt enjoy it for it has different taste and kind of hard unlike white. but I read and learn the right way to cook it so now, im used to it. When I visited the grocery again, I saw different colors of rice black, red and even purple.. I wonder if these varities have better benefits than brown. anyone who has an idea? how about their taste?

brown rice seems to be the most nutritional. good thing about it is that it's planted on the uplands and they don't use fertilizer to grow it. So besides being nutritional it's also natural. hope this helps.

red, purple/pink and black rice are more nutritious because it has more fiber and vitamins compare to brown (unpolished white rice), this type of rice are organic and they usually grown on highlands and it doesn't required much of chemicals..red, purple/pink, black and brown rice are perfect for people lossing weight or losing fat while maintaining there muscle because this rice are low glycemic..

I also found out about brown rice awhile ago and am now eating that whenever getting the option. However, I thought I would clue you in on a little thing I picked up on with bread. They say wheat is better for you but when looking at the packages you want to make sure that it's not just some wheat flower and molasses coloring that your buying. You may think your eating healthy but really it's just as bad for you. So keep an eye out for things that say whole grain and oats. Those are beneficial. Just thought I'd let you know, wasn't sure if you were as healthy curious as I am.

I have read that brown and red rice are healthy alternative to white rice.brown/red rice has more fiber and less sugar than white rice.I love rice and I would like to healthy now,so I want to switch to brown rice.experts say that, for rice lovers, 2 cups of brown rice is healthier than 1 cup of white rice.I think there is no difference in terms of taste.

I honestly haven't heard of black, red or purple rice. I know that brown rice to white rice is like wholemeal bread to white bread. I don't think that these other coloured rice have any special benefits, rather just food colouring to attract the eye. I could be wrong though!
