Have You Ever Looked At It This Way?

Well it has been a long time since I have been on mylot and even longer since I have started a discussion. But wondered if anyone ever looked at it this way before. My Monday's are 12 hour work days. That makes it bad in itself, let alone the day I had today. My daughter had sent me a text message saying "sorry that you had a rough day." My response to her was, "have to have a bad day once in awhile, to make the other days look good." So I was just wondering, if anyone else ever looked at it this way before? I guess it could be compared to how one looks at a glass whether it is half full or half empty! Please share your thoughts!

I have often looked at it that way. I think I figured out as a teen that happiness and sadness was relative and each side enhanced the other. I guess I do not know what you do that makes for such a long day. Lucky us, tomorrow is Tuesday.

Thanks for responding. Yes, lucky us tomorrow is Tuesday. I work for a mental health company. I generally work in medical records, but when the front desk is short staff as they were today, I have to cover the front desk. Then Monday evenings I have to cover the front desk, which makes for a long bad day.

I don't know what to say here. I am still in shock over you starting a discussion! :-)

This is a Great way to look at things, and many times I have looked at things in life in this respect as well. Personally when it comes to situations if you are really feeling down and out, you need to appeciate what God has given you, and remember there will be better days, and what you are going thru today will not last. But this is True the Bad days do make you appreciate the Good ones.

That is kind of what I was telling my mom the other day. I had a migraine, and she kept telling me how sorry she was. I told her that having migraines just makes me enjoy all the days when I have no pain in my head. Like the day after the migraine is totally gone, the feeling of being without pain is so wonderful. It makes me appreciate those days more.

Oh most definately. My husband tells his congregation all the time that you have to walk through the valley's and make the climb...to appreciate the view from the top! If things were always going great, they wouldn't matter to us anymore. Hubby is working 12 hour days on Thursdays, after being off on Wednesday, so we can definately relate! Will say an extra prayer for you next Monday my friend! PS...glad to see you back!

I wish I had internet on my phone. Hubby and all the kids do, but my particular phone, the internet service is too expensive. Theirs is $10 a month for unlimited, and mine is $30! I just do without! LOL I do have facebook mobile, but all I can do is get and update my status.

Thanks for the extra prayer on Monday. It will be much appreciated. I probably won't be able to log back into mylot until the weekend since I will be staying at my daughters while watching my grandbaby the rest of the week and she doesn't have a pc. I've attempted to log in from my cell phone, but that doesn't work.

well i will agree with you even on our worst days you have to try to keep a positive outlook cause tomorrow is another day. i always try to stay positive as much as possible, because if you don't then you just become so negative and that can get pretty depressing after awhile. i think the worst part for you is that you have to be there so long that the day can seem to drag on and on. i'm sure by the end of the day whether good or bad you can't wait to get home. no matter what happens it could always be worse so i hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Your right about that, can't wait to get home, especially when three to four days a week I spend the night with my daughter to watch my granddaughter who is two. And today was a much better day!

I never really thought of it that way, but I like how you think! (You can keep the 12 hour work days though :-) )
