Don't You Just Hate The Task of Packing and Moving?

We're moving to another state in a few weeks, which is a good thing. But, I just hate the thought of having to buy boxes, pull down pictures, take everything off the shelves, wrap dishes, clean the closets, submit a change of address form, and all the rest on my "to-do-list" that comes with moving. Even if I were to get a moving company to do it, I'd still have to pack things I don't want them to do. Oh well, you gotta do what you have to in order to do the things you want to. The best part of all of this, I get to unpack them too! :)

I'm with you on this one! My wife and I are in the same boat right now. We just got approved for a new place in a city about 30 minutes away from where we currently live and will be moving in about a month. We have already started packing things up and getting them ready to move out. We are actually planning on selling a lot of stuff that we either don't need or don't want anymore to try and minimize the amount of stuff we have to take with us! I wish you all the best in your move!

We moved in to a loft type condominium unit two weeks ago and it was really tiring. i hate packing and moving things particularly big things like the television set, electric fan, closets and many more.. i had a hard time wrapping the dishes, cleaning the closets and packing them.. we have moved for many times and i hope that we are going to stay here for a longer time.

I have only ever moved once, and that was enough for me. I dind't realize how much stuff I had until it came time to pack it all up and move it somewhere. LOL Thank God my mother was there to help with it all, and we hired a really great moving company to transport the big stuff. The little stuff we just hauled in our pickup trucks.

Moving can be a fun experience, except the moving of all your stuff. I find that before I move, I go through all the rooms in my house and throw away or give away stuff that I don't need. This really curbs the amount of things that I will end up having to take with me when the big move occurs. It helps to get things organized better as well.

I don't like packing everything up but it sure is fun unpacking when you're in a new home.
You can start all over putting things the way you like.

Yes I see how it can be frustrating and a pain in the butt. However I've been living at the same house for quite a while and I've been living in the same town my whole entire life. So at this point in my life I kind of look forward to moving somewhere else. Hopefully somewhere warmer where there's no winter.

Since I've been an adult, I've moved thirteen times. That's a lot of moving and I don't like the pressure of getting everything done at the place you are leaving and then turn around and have to clean and unpack at your new place.
Our last move was to a house that was in an estate. The lady was quite old and disabled and there was so much cleaning to be done before I could even put my stuff away. Fortunately, it was only 15 minutes away from where we had been living, so I could go over in the evening and work on the cupboards and closets so it was ready for my stuff.
My husband said that the next time we move, we are going to have movers. We are just getting too old for all the carrying of boxes and furniture. If there is a good part about moving, it's a time to clean out what you don't want to move and get organized.
Good luck with your move. I hope it goes smoothly for you.

more than most things in the world. One time I had to move and instead of labelling my boxes with descriptions of their contents I simply wrote "I hate Moving."

Oh God yes
It is such a hassle, and there seems to be a never-ending list of things to do before you leave, like clean out the cupboards and closets, make sure all large furniture is taken apart and various other annoyances

I had moved so often over the years that now I am tired of it. Back in 2008 IK had moved three times within a five month span and it drove me crazy. I packed everything up myself because I know if I allowed my husband to help out I would be going crazy for months looking for everything. I wish I lived out by you so I could help you out because I know exactly what you are going through.

I've only moved once in my life but packing was frustrating too. But maybe you could think of it this way, since you have to pack and move things so often, you can also think about what do you still need and which things you don't, so you can throw any clutter away before you pack it and it doesn't accumulate in your house. So you have to do less of those spring and summer and autumn and winter cleanings :)
