What keeps you mylotting?

As I was checking google, I saw some results about people who have joined other social networking sites and they say those sites are better than mylot mainly in terms of earnings because it pays more than 1 cent per post and some of them even have referral commissions [as distinguished from or apart from our way of earning here thru referral posts] . I think it may be enticing for some people to join those sites because they pay more than $0.01 per post. But as for me, mylot is the most user friendly site that I've seen so far. It's very easy to post here, the earning potentials are also comprehensive. I have been paid here already and that's why I am still visiting this site because of its legitimacy. It's not that I post here like 100 a day because I've started to post less these days due to my full time work a day but I just don't disregard the fact that this place is an information highway too. As for you, what keeps you mylotting?

Well, I mostly earn more than 1 cents per post. Perhaps they who say mylot pays less, should try to make their responses on mylot longer, which will make their earnings increase. But I don't really know any other paying social networking sites so I guess I can't really compare. Mylot is indeed very user friendly. It's easy, it's fun and it's helpful. I have also been paid, it may take a while, but earning money isn't the main reason why I keep coming back to mylot. I like it here, because people help me whenever I have a question, I in return help them. Maybe in those other sites, most people just go for the payment? I don't really know, though.

Each of our post go though a review and in putting value to it is really subjective but with the help of some guidelines. Most of my post are also valued at 1 cent each but that's okay. There have been a number of times my posts were appreciated and they meant more than many dollars to me.

I have a feeling that the sites you are saying are scams..but if it is legit, would you mind telling me the names of the sites? I came here on myLot on the purpose of earning money, but when I signed up here, I began to enjoy it. At first I can't find any discussion that interest me. But when I knew my way around myLot..I began to enjoy participating in the discussions. What keeps me myLotting is the interesting discussions I have found here. If I am a bit bored posting in the discussions, I usually start one :) happy myLotting~~

Hi, bunnybon7. I haven't heard of any social networking site that is exclusively Filipino. Of course, you can participate there and precisely, you can keep up with the topics because Filipinos, Americans and other nationalities alike share the same human culture, sentiments, ideals, and challenges. I haven't visited the site though, I just readily concluded it to be so because I think it's not reasonable to prohibit other people besides Filipinos to sign up there.

As No one knows what or how mylot pays I don't think it's fair to say mylot pays $0.01 a post. Because it all depends on how much you type.. you get paid for what you type- the length and quality of your discussions and responses. those people who are only typing 1 or 2 lines probably don't even make $0.01 a post. You have to respond to your discussions if you want to earn. By starting a discussion and responding with thoughtful answers to all of your respondents you can make a fair amount.. Those that start a million discussion and then never respond to anyone are just wasting their time and ours.. the object here is to DISCUSS. if no one responds. Then it is just a questions answer game and not a discussion session. And all that opportunity the discussion starter had to earn just flies out the door. Why bother?

While mylot is not limiting their payment to 0.01 cent, and they somehow take their time in assessing the quality of each post, many users undeniably get paid only 0.01 even the paragraph they write is not less than 4 sentences and they diligently come up with it. And when you read it, you will not say it's a stupid post. I'm an average user here in the mylot community and I can say 0.01 cent is an average payment and that might have made me outrightly imply "mylot usually pays 0.01". Like me, for example, I try to come up with a fairly sensible post at all times, and most of them are paid 0.01 cent. It's true mylot may pay more than 0.01 on occasions because I can attest to that first hand and that's what I was trying to say that I might have communicated the wrong way, and that I only realized when I read back my post since I got a bit alarmed by the phrase "it's not fair..." [My apologies. I didn't mean it in a bad way]. But thanks for dropping by.

NO problem.. I just noticed that I usually get more than $.01 - when I pay attention... And it may scare off others from even trying.. When in fact some people make more than $.01.. It all depends on the post and if your star rating is higher you will earn more.. so the more you post.. and make friends the higher your star rating will become and therefore your earnings will increase. But since we don't know exactly how Mylot comes up with their payments/earnings.. we can't just say how much they pay.. as it will obviously be different from one post/poster to another.

Humans are meant to communicate with one another. Although, we have been, for the time being, separated by territorial, cultural, and language barriers, there is still something that binds us which is our common culture as human beings. Sometimes we share a universal sentiment and some things we experience on a daily basis are not peculiar to every other citizen of the world. Although some of us may not be very fluent in English that same human culture we share might have been the key why we can somehow get the context of our co-mylotters' post wherever he/she may be from.

There are a lot of reasons that I spend my time here. The first reason that I like to spend my time here is that since I joined in July I have actually built a relationship with some people that I would like to meet in real life. In addition to that, I've actually been paid by the site several times so I know that it isn't a scam, I'm really not wasting my time here. Finally, I stay at home with small children and I don't have the opportunity during the day to have conversations with adults and being on here fulfills that need.

And what's more interesting is the anonymity which keeps us safe from any abusive fellow as we may choose not to deal with anyone who ruins our day here. We can choose when to respond or not to respond at all. And no one can see right through us only those who really can read between the lines and able to discern from written communication some deep feelings embedded therein will have a slight idea about what kind of person we are.

Friends, pay, interesting topics, lack of work, a need to help others, the way the economy is going, sometimes a need to complain and find some people in the same boat. Many reasons.

I appreciate your direct to the point response. Truly, there are a number of reasons people stick with mylot besides the earnings and the discussions. For instance I sometimes browse through mylot's discussions to get an idea about something I just encountered. I check the posts if anyone from the mylot community has also come across it and whatever he/she has to say.

I like Mylot because the people are nicer than on most forums and are from all over the world. On other forums I usually only find people from India or the US. I like to get views from different countries and heritages because I'm interested in Sociology/Cultures. Plus, I get real responses not just canned responses to earn a buck.

A few months of mylotting can be enculturating. Many mylotters have learned to include mylotting to their daily routine. It has become something they can't do without for a time. And since we get exposed to different nationalities, we learn what other people eat, what irritate them, how they celebrate their holidays, what their folklores are, and so on. It's sociologically educational to be at mylot too.

Yes it's hard to earn in mylot but if you just want to earn money you won't stay here for long. I don't write posts many a day but only 4 or 5 . Mylot just has become one of my habits . You know how I learned about mylot? It was because I got driven to curiousity by many good reviews I read from reviewstream.com. There were so many people there who wrote positive reviews about this website. In my case, it takes me several months to reach payout here but I don't worry about it because being a member here does not take lots of obligation. I can log in everyday this month without going back after some weeks but log back in again when I feel like it eventually. But just the same, I could always feel comfortable, interested and could post and read meaningful posts.

I keep lotting because of the wonderful people I met here. I had somewhat a debate once with a moderator of another social networking site like mylot. His point was why do people still lingers in mylot when they can pay a lot more per post? I told him it's because of the rule difference from their site and mylot. I didn't mention about the people or anything I don't want to be rude. In the end I called it off and told him whatever people think I don't care who's better or not because as for me I'm in a win win situation because I enjoy both forum

That's true. Here at mylot, anyone whose favorite subject is argumentation and debate has his full meal. It's like anything that can be described in words can be talked about here [with the exception of profanity of course]. There might be some other legit sites out there that may be better than mylot but not being their member does not worry me. I like discussing things here.

Mylot is a stress reliever if anyone knows how to handle the discussion and watches his every post. I've seen a number of active members who eventually become uninspired and mylot even becomes their nightmare at times because of unpleasant experience in the discussion. It's either they are sharp tounged but could not handle the repercussion or counter rudeness/sarcasm drawn by their uncareful post or they are just too disappointed to see the slowness of their earnings that they had too much expectation on. But as for me, mylot will always be my perpetual abode in the net be it one post in a day or no post at all but reading discussions.

i am happy to know that you have received payment from this site and regarded it as legitimate. like you, i have received many payments and considered mylot as one of my favorite sites in the worldwide web. aside from earning some real bucks, i enjoy the connection i found with some members here. the discussions are also helpful to articulate and share our opinions. i like mylot because of the daily posting of earnings. i am particularly thrilled to see my earnings closer to the payout each day.

Exactly. We know it's not that much but seeing how our post earns some monetary equivalent makes me a bit excited to visit this site at least every night before I sleep and that's also when I see my earnings updated. It's money earned almost effortlessly.

I have been a part of two of those sites which says that they pay more than myLot but since their algorithm can't avoid spams and junk posts, they failed to survive and that is why I am enjoying my time at myLot! The only reason I come here is that I have many friends over here and they always are with me and they trust me also!

Well, what keeps me myloting is teh fact I can learn so much in a short period to time, and gain lots of friends. The earnings I have received here, just don't compare to the knowledge that I have received as it is priceless. The earnings aren't much so it isn't all that important to me, as much as the knowledge is. I like sharing my views with others and seeing what their views are on the same topic. If it weren't for mylot, I would have never heard about the sites that I am doing to earn a little extra money, so being here has been good for the most part, however at times I have been so discouraged because of the duplicate discussions. I will continue though as I just can't stay away. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

All mylot members have a story or an idea to share, a question to ask and we all can be considered as authors of various books each time we post. By posting one sensible paragraph there is so much to read from that. By just spending a couple of hours reading also through discussions and others' testimonies is like reading a lot of books and learning many new things in a very short period of time. By mylotting, many people learn how to verify their Paypal accounts, how to cook some recipes, how to deal with their personal problems, let other people know that they're part of this organization or so. They get readers to their blogs and they also read others' blogs. Indeed, it's inevitable that we learn here a lot in a short period of time.

obviously, you enjoy mylotting. you've hit almost a thousand responses. for me, it's quite interesting. otherwise, i would not have reached over 200. about the pay, i haven't reached the minimum payout yet. also, i don't know how to collect, or how the money will reach me. i have no credit cards, no bank accounts... but i keep on mylotting, driven by the broad variety of topics being discussed and inspired by the insights i get every time i get a response to my response...

I guess, it's time for you to add your paypal account when you hit the "preferences" link go to "payment information" and set your minimum payout to $10. Based on the number of your posts, it looks like you're a few posts away from your payment or a little beyond it. But I'm not sure if this is a timely advise because I only got to respond 5 wks later. You might have figured that out by yourself days ago. Sorry for the late response because I can only find time every once in a while due to my full time work.

thanks, clowdine. that's okay -- being able to respond when you have time. i've hit the 10-dollar mark already, but i don't think i'll request a payout already. that's not even enough to pay for my dsl line.
