colors of skin, which would you prefer?[white, brown, black]

I live in the Philippines which were dominated by brown color just like any other Asian countries.Lately there's a lucrative business which is tremendously booming, you will have an edge if you are a merchandiser of beauty products like skin whitening creams, soaps or in capsule forms which claims to transform you to have a beautiful white silky skin in just a few months.Testimonies say it works but most of the time not because some fly by night businessman join this craze only to earn money disregarding the true effects of their products. But had anyone notice that Europeans, Americans, and other white skin people prefer brown skin, mulatto or tanned color. They do mostly sunbathing especially during summer time to have a tanned color. Some Asians do anything to have their skin turned white, staying mostly indoors to avoid the heat of the sun.My co-My Lotters please to this topic, Thanks.

I'm just wondering why a lot of our countrymen want to become white whereine white people put themselves under the sun to get the "Tan" look. What they don't know is that our brown skin protects us from the tropical sun we have in the Philippines. That's why I'm proud of my brown skin, there's no need to go to the beach to tan myself. Most of all, I'm proud to be a brown-skinned Filipino.

I wish I have a pinkish color. I am a Filipino but my color though not dark is just lighter but I wish it is pink because pink gives a different glow. I don't like to be white because it is oftentimes accompanied by freckles. I don't want to be black either because it looks so awful. I think we Filipinos are somewhat blessed because we are in the middle not white but certainly not black. I wonder why I still could not be contented and would hope to have pink. Well it is because men sometimes are weird. When it is black they want it white, if it is white they want it black, if it is brown, they want it pink and so on and so forth.

The color of my skin is neither white nor brown or black,it's yellow.I's no different between these skins, some white man made them looks deeper, but some black man made them looks like white.I will do nothing to change my skin, for the most beautiful skin depends on health and smooth but not color.

well the truth is this products on sales now will have an effect later and destroy the skin of this lovely looking brown poeple what every your color is, its better you leave it that way and enjoy the beauty of the skin, besides that now the best world respected skin is the brown skin every bady loves it its firm, smooth, and long lasting and withstand any weather condition. but when been mixed with this new products that these companies just want to use in making a living for themselves and destroy the innocent low self esteemed person who thinks changing his or her skin will give them a qualit level.

Hi, etioewe.I agree with you that this companies who are promoting this products only thinks of themselves, how there income increases disregarding it's effect to consumers. Thanks.

I am from Singapore and also have brown skin. I use whitening cream and it helps me with my pigmentation. I am happy with my colour but the cream just helps to reduce my brown spots on my skin. So I am happy to have good skin especially when I am turning 41 this year.

hello nice comments ,i will tell you my angle on this it is better to have a darker skin because of the sun ,white skin is pretty useless if you are in a hot country remebeer white skin is the weakest skin you can have because it has virtually no resistance to the sun and the sun burns it easyily

I am Hispanic but my family is originally from Spain so I have a very white skin color, living all my life in the Caribbean people would always tried to be tanned, and I used to get annoyed when people used to bother me telling me why I was so white and why I wouldn't tan. I would always answer that I was comfortable with the way I looks, and I was not going to change for any society pattern that has been imposed. I applaud the poster who said she was going to boycott all those whitening products.

I'm a Filipina and I'm boycotting whitening products right now. I'm really comfortable with my skin tone right now so I think I don't need those. It's consumerism at work. The supplier manipulating the market so the demand for his product would go up. You wouldn't sell tanning products to people who don't need tanning.

i rather have my true color which is brown... i am a Filipino too.. so i not ashame of my color... as u said americans love the color brown, and some of them as i see also during summer days we do have many visitors from different countries to go some beaches like BORACAY which is the most popular place to go... why should i prefer to be white so many things to be done especially those bleaching and what so ever that is so expensive... being natural is the best we must do...

I have mocha colored skin and I love it. It's not the color that I have a problem with it's the uneven tone and it's tendency to hyper-pigment that I don't care for.

Lately??!!! In india we’ve had this product called Fair & Lovely for as long as I can remember LOL and the fascination of my aunts to use it regularly…I’ve grown up seeing this craziness all around me so kind of immune to it really as I know that it looks so horrible when just your face or neck parts are white while the rest of your body is your true skin colour! None of us in the family are very dark…we have what is called bright wheatish coloured and that is perfectly OK with me. I would rather have a healthy glowing skin than a sick pallor on my face.

I'm Filipino too, I don't need need whitening soap or any kind of whitening products. because I have a fairer skin. I don't understand why majority of the Filipino wants to have a fairer skin even if they spending much on whitening products. You need to be proud of your color. I think they believe if you have whiter skin you have many opportunities.

hi there stanley. im from philippines too and im working as a beauty consultant. im handling an international brand and im assisting clients from different countries. i love my skin color. here in philippines i can say that my skin tone is fair than to a typical type of morena (filino skin tone) but if i compare my color for those who have realy white from other asian color, im still brown to them. base on my own observation asian skin is really good compare to other country. specially japanese, chinese, and korean. but they also want to make their skin more whiter and whiter. they are obsses w/ a whitening skin care, however some of my clients from states and eaurope they are after w/ all different types of tanning and bronzing products. well there was a saying that people really dont satisfied for what we have. white want to be dark, dark want to be fair, straight hair want to get curl and curly hair makes their hair rebonded!! :)) happy mylotting :)

My opinion of people wanting to change the colour of their skin is that with that skin they look and feel inferior;which is not suppose to be.Do you know that any attempt to change what is natural will make life uncomfortable.God that created you either white, brown or black has not made a mistake.Your skin is like that so that you will be able to survive in that environment where you are.
