Just wondering what your opinions are on people who go on strike from work because of pay, conditions etc? I think it depends on exactly why they are doing it but some can come across as being very selfish, e.g. here in UK, last year I think, teachers went on strike. I cant remember exact reasons but what got me was parents of the children had to take time off work themselves to look after them and they may not even be earning a smuch as the teachers. Also, teachers do not like it when parents take children out of school before the summer holidays when the holidays are cheaper but it is alright for the teachers to take time off.

I am on the fence really I can see the point of striking but it is so annoying when there are a lot of people out of work and people are striking for more money feel like saying come on your lucky to have a job.
There was the recent postal strikes in UK, cost me a fortune so I started sending my mail by private courier and I know a lot of businesses have switched to private couriers so the royal mail because of the sites have lost customers and revenue as I know I will not use the royal mail since the strikes.
So yeah I can see the reasoning behind it but at the same token that is an issue between them and the employer it should never affect the general public just like the teachers.
Here in the northeast UK teachers start on about 18k the head master at my local school is on over 40k
a lot of people in my area would kill to earn 18k a year, get a grip and people need to live in the real world.

There are some reasons that warrant a strike but most who strike can not come to an agreement and they should work more on that then just jumping and going on strike. I believe differences can be settled if everyone sets down and works out their problems they should be able to come to a medium and settle their differences before a strike even happens.

Strike is the indication of dissatisfaction. Strike is against the productivity but we have to feel them who are deprived from the right and to so their dissatisfaction they are going for strike. Strike is harmful but we can't criticize the process. Because that is the democratic way of protest.
