I have seen and been adviced by many mylotters to post quality discussions but I have not really seen what a quality discussion means. Also, mylotters have told me that quality discussions fetch you more rewards!
Google's dictionary describes quality to be " SOMETHING OF HIGH STANDARD ", but I am still not satisfied! Please help..

Check out the dictionary for the meaning of 'discussion' too and then you will maybe start to understand.
Just posting a topic and leaving the responses with no comments in not a discussion and it is certainly not quality There is no point in posting many topics one after the other and then just leaving them there to take care of themsleves. Over time you will see fewer and fewer responses if you do not comment.
Those who respond are giving you the chance to earn by commenting back to them and then they can comment back to you again too. That is when it becomes a discussion and you will see your earnings increase too. If you involve people in a topic and your posts are informative, then it will be quality too.

Yes, knowing what a discussion really means could help the starter know what quality in here is all about. I try to make the discussion active usually when the user who started the discussion seems to be busy on other things. Well, I forgot to include on my response about that but good thing, you already posted it as I got lost for several days so I didn't noticed that there is a situation again where there are lots of discussions from the same user and didn't managed to make it active simply by posting comments and repeating that cycle. Nice one, friend!

Oh good to see you!
Yes that same old trend is setting in again Seems that too many think that they earn for starting tons of 'discussions'. Not the case at all but we are almsot losing the battle again

I don't know why some people disregard the word discussion, it's one of the keywords that greatly describes the beauty of interacting here in mylot. It's a good thing that the deity is here keeping an eye on those who are like lost sheeps

Hi there! Same with you, so I rarely start my own discussion because most of the topics are already posted by other users. Well, I spend my time by posting responses and comments and it can also help to earn especially when it is of good quality. When I come up to an idea, I check if the topic already exists then will post it right away. I avoid posting discussions about current events or controversial issues as it seems to be a race, the first one who posted the topic will have his/her discussion stay in the list while the others have the risk of getting deleted. Just enjoy posting as the way the earnings are calculated is the same whether it is a response, discussion, or a comment, they depend on quality.

Well donna22, I don't think it is solely about starting discussions. It is about offering opinions and feedback to those posts already started. Why does everyone thing you have to be the one starting a discussion in order to make the incentive? I seem to be doing well without having started a single discussion. I find most of the topics started very interesting and want to add my 2 cents. Good luck to you.

Hi friend,
quality of a discussion means the quality of the topic. Topics that what people like to discuss are called quality discussions. If you have gotten such a nice topic and have given a very good description for that, then you have posted a quality discussion here. While responding also we have to post quality posts, there quality is what you have to say and contribute to the discussion.
As an online earner here we have to pay attention to quality as well as quantity of our each posts here. Good luck friend.

Hello there! That was a good question. Well, participation earnings depend on quality of the post and on the rating of the user. In order to earn more, you must post with quality. In order for a post to be considered as quality content, it must have length and substance. When starting a discussion, try to use the search box above to check if the topic you want to post already exists. If it is, view the subject in another aspect. In that way, duplicate topics will be avoided. Next, make your post as long as you can by adding details, don't rush for posting it, you can make it better, just take your time to think. Don't compress the idea into a few sentences, remember that short posts will not be paid and what we earn from discussions depend on the quality of our posts, as stated on the response box, be descriptive as possible. Keep on posting quality content so you can get positive ratings and it helps you to earn more (the rating of the user is included on the calculation of participation earnings). I hope it helps, have a nice day!

That was a very helpful guide boogerman. This will guide us new mylotters on how to make quality responses in whatever discussions here in mylot. Responding to interesting discussions not only gain us more points but likewise help enhance our writing skills. I am not into writing but when I joined my lot and started responding to informative and interesting discussions I, found joy in sharing ideas and opinions with this community through writing.

Here quality can be expressed in many ways. One main quality is English should be important. And your answer should be correct to the point. And you should write atleast 4 to 5 sentences. And your answer should be worthy. If more quality answer posted, then automatically best quality will become less quality. There is no quality standard to speak on ....
I think you understood the point

Simply start a discussion that is inviting and has a great potential for interactions. Don't start discussions answerable by yes or no because it may get a lot of responders very quick but it will likely to be very boring in the long run because all response could just be categorized as yes and no and that's it. It will never grow

Using right words without grammatical error, using appropriate punctuations, commenting and rating the to responses, avoiding single line postings constitutes quality posting.

Yes, the paragraph construction is also considered when posting quality content aside from length and substance. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation counts. Some users are here to practice those things and it really helped them to improve their writing skils such as proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation and it also helped them to improve the way they write, you will notice it on the quality of the post. Stated on the guidelines, we are encouraged to post quality content because quality is a factor for calculating the earnings on participation. Making the discussion active by posting comments on responses received can also help to earn and it will be considered as a quality discussion.

So are you sure that a discussion with more than considerable amount of comments is going to fetch you money? I also think likewise as mylot is not so easy to understand !

look up discussion and quality then put together, you must select a top that will appeal to most anyone then ask some questions about it so that we can give some input, and try please to make your discussion at least four or five lines long so you can develope your ideas clearly, and understandably. do not just tell us a short story or long story, because that cannot be really discussed also do not ask a simple question that can be answered in one or two words.we need something we could all discuss and give our own opinions on. A word of warning,do not just post a lot of discussions then never return as thats sort of like a slap in the face to the rest of us who took time to respond to your discussion. so comment on all the responses as its the right thing to do, and you do get paid for each and every comment too.

They probably mean a fairly decent response or discussion topic. I know that someone gave me the advice of trying to always write responses that were about four sentences or longer because it would help my earning out. Also they probably mean to try and respond with useful information or something like that as well.

...Hi there kar295rocks, Well, I gave you my version of a quality post and evidently it was too detailed, so we will try again, maybe this one will make it to you. For a quality post, I think you should answer the discussion question in as much detail as you can, make your response interesting and possibly noteworthy with your answer to the topic. In other words, try to have substance in your response. One line answers are not good, at least four lines as I understand it, are good. Try to stick to the topic and be as helpful as possible. Good luck and take care.

Quality discussions are the ones that have deep subjects, and the ones that will attract more people to comment about them, in a site like this one you want to write about subjects that people would want to debate about, subjects that don't be black and white, where people can debate, expose ideas, you can write about contemporary subjects, subjects also that you see in the news, things that upset you, social issues.
