Do you like your job?

Back in December I finally got a job after being unemployed for almost 7 months. I thank heavens every day that I have a job. I love my new job! I finally got a job in my field, doing what I was trained for, with great people. The family I work for are wonderful! My patient is appreciative of what I do and never tries to take advantage. The only thing I dont like is that my patient has a 50 year old son who lays on the couch shouting out orders. He's useless and in my way. Neither here nor there I suppose. I love going to work. They are literally happy that I am there. This is probably the best job i have ever had. I enjoy the whole thing. What about you? Do you like your job? Why? dl

We own 2 small business's and I love every minute of it. It is harder when working for yourself and not someone else but it is great being able to do your own hours and choosing your schedule and what jobs you would like and those you would not.

You are so fortunate, and you also probably drive yourself harder than any other boss would.

We do push ourselves and our employees harder because we want to perform the job the same way we would like it performed if it was us ordering the service. If a customer is not happy then we are not finished with that job until they are satisfied and happy with the service that they paid for.

hello! congrats that you have your job already. But sometime in getting a job is also a luck. First you should know that having a job is full of adjustment because you are not the boss. So being an employee is full of sacrifices or even patience to your work as well. But just enjoy your work and show your boss that you work hard so that promotion is positive. For me I've been a government employee for 25 years now, yes it helps a lot to my family needs, enjoying life to accompany to other employees, but still I am an employee. I've tried to have business five years ago, you know it really different to be a boss. And having a business is really good and it's one way to financial freedom. http://www.waysinlife.com/index.html

You are so right Judelen. Being a boss is much different than taking orders from one. When I used to work in that type of situation I remember biting my tongue so many times I thought I was going to expolde. Im an now working as a visiting nurse. I go to peoples homes and take care of them. I have someone I report to but she isnt over my shoulder. I Love that. dl

Congrats on gettting a job! Too bad the couch potato isn't a help, but if he was, they might not need you. It's amazing how many people who are not really useful. I've been learning more and more about that. I'm not getting enough work. I'm getting work, but 1/2 a day here and 1/2 a day there isn't really enough to pay all my bills. So I have to take money out of my retirement and savings.

Hey Writers! It does stink that you have to use your savings and retirement. Hold on it will get better. I hope... Enjoy the time you have not working. Eventually they will want you back full time and you wont have free time. This job crisis cant last forever. At least I hope not. As for the couch potato he makes me sick. He is a big peice of SH*T! The funny thing is that he walks around like he's the man just because he helps lift his mother out of bed. The minute he sits her in the wheelchair he is gone. Nothing more. He is a waste of space. His mother is the nicest woman you ever want to meet. I just ignore him. He's not worth me quitting my job.The person in charge of my patient's care loves me. She appreciates how good I am with her mother so I am not going anywhere! Hold on it will get better. dl

Hmmm. I don't love it that much, but I don't really hate it.. so I'm kinda neutral.. There are some things that I love, like learning new things, and training on technical matters, or findings way to improve a system or something.. The things that I don't like that much is that there is so little time to study and understand everything... I love my working hours, just 9 hours, nothing more, nothing less. No overtime for me, and no work during weekends.. And I love the people,.. I have a good time everyday with my teammates and with my team leads.

At least you dont hate it. No one wants to have to work but we do. We are unfortunately not blessed with millionaire parents. If you work hard who knows maybe you can become a CEO of your company. That is very possible. Or maybe you can create your own company. Who knows. Anything is possible. And you have good friends to work with. that makes it easier to go to work. dl

That's true.. we have no choice but to work. Hehehe. Anyway, I don't know about being the CEO of the company. LOL. but that sounds nice.. Hehehehe. I just wish that I could have a work that I really really love.. I really envy those people who just love their work and would not trade it for anything else.

Well you certainly have a great attitude about being unemployed. That's admirable. You are funny. What about a comedian? You have one fan already.. ME I think your hilarious. Seriously though I know how you're feeling. I just got a job in my field. I was working in stores, laundry mats, then nothing for 7 months. I thought I was going to die. But then I went online to Care.com and found a job. They even have dog walking jobs. SO I knew I had to have experience for that. Luckily I didnt have to find out. I was contacted by someone who needed a home nurse for their mom. Here I am. I love it. Browse the internet sites. You never know. Good Luck with your job search my friend. Hope to hear from you again. dl

I don't like my current job, not the content of my job but the condition of the company. I feel the company is cofused and niggling. I want to change a job when I return from New Year vacation. I hope I can find a better job and I like it. I will work harder. Bless me. :)

Hey Vams! You have to give a job a fair chance before making a final opinion. Some people become impatient and quit. You waited and in the end you are doing well. dl

I was really grateful for my job for the last four years. They worked around my crazy class schedule, gave me raises, holiday and quarterly bonuses, along with Christmas presents and days off whenever I needed them. On the other hand, the last few weeks of work have been torture to me. It feels like my employer no longer appreciates the hard work that I put into making the workplace run so efficiently. He spends all of his time blaming employees for the poor economy and is constantly paranoid that we are trying to sabotage his company. I'm just tired of always having to defend my integrity. I was planning on working there as long as possible before moving to a different city for my husband to go to school. Now, we're leaving as soon as he takes his last final for the semester.

Hey Lindsiko you are the other side of the coin, if you will. There are those who hate the job and do it just to make ends meet. Then there are those who enjoy working and really prosper. You are lucky. I am loving my job right now too. My patient's family allow me to care for their mother. In this particular family they are extremely close so I was shocked when they allowed me to get right in there and do things my way. The daughter even went so far as to go on this employment website where I had applied to this job and leave the best reference you could imagine. As far as your employment goes dont forget that everyone has their moods. Maybe your boss is going thru something. Whatever it is dont let it get to you. Something is going on in your bosses head. Maybe, depending on your relationship with your boss, you could discuss what is going on. dl

I don't like my job (working with people). It is good to have your own business. When you work, you will find a lot of people (your boss, your staff, your client, your supplier etc.) and usually most of them are ok but a few will irritate you. On the hand, it is not easy to manage business especially competition.

First let me welcome you Hasida. Your feelings are not uncommon. I think most people dont like their jobs. More so they dont want to be the employee. Unfortunately we are not all cut out to be bosses. Some people have a great way about them and that makes them great assistants. We are all good at something. We all have our place in life. It is up to us to find out what it is.Happy MyLotting dl

See I think that most people dont love their job. They are doing it because they have to. They have families to support. Its a case of doing the right thing. With finances being what they are, we have no choice. However if most of the people you know love their jobs, than hey that's wonderful. It sure makes life easier to love your job. dl

Yes, because there is less paperwork to handle. The only problem with my work now is that they seldom allow us to render overtime because we are rightly staffed for now. I need money badly. Other than that, love my work - the environment, the people and the works!

You are very lucky! Most people go to work everyday to a job they cant stand just to be able to feed their family. I hate when they deny overtime. Overtime becomes addicting. I now do overtime everyday. I act like I hate it. In my place of business if they know you like it they'll take it away. It's a control issue. I play the game. I make the money. Dont worry you'll get the overtime. Act like you dont want to do it. Supervisors love to aggrivate staff. Play their game and you'll get your wish. Good luck my friend! dl

As for the job I am taking,it is too complicated to summarize it in one word. The general manager who is shanghainese people is nice, while the company is so inefficient and the salary is too low for me to bear.I am thinking if possible I will change my job from R&D into marketing. All in all,I am waiting the situation will be improved by me or others.

Welcome to MyLot Xiapengyu( hope I spelled it right). I am honored that you would choose my discussion to be one of the first few you answered. People think that in your part of the world they have alot of companies making computers and cars etc. They automatically assume that your country pays you large wage to help create these things. NOT! You are going thru what so many of us are only its a much lower wage for you. What is the minimum wage you can be paid over there? For us its $8 per hour. I cant live on that

having a great working environment along with great co workers is the ultimate. Where you love your manager it makes for easier working conditions. It allows for office relations to better serve the clients and workers by not having to deal with arguments and take sides. You have a good thing my friend. Keep up the great work. dl

Hi dlove, that's funny because in the last year I found a job in my field of study as well. It is the first real job of which I feel is putting me out there on my toes and I'm trying really hard to stick it in to excel. I guess when you're doing something you like, the time goes by quickly as well. You overall become more happier and motivated to advance yourself completely. It's like a 360 you. Thanks for the discussion! See you around.

To tell you the truth, I'm not satisfied with my current job. The company I work for has several legal and economical issues, my payroll is being held up almost for two weeks already, some money is owed to me from last year and things don't look to bright in the near future. But I'm still hanging on there, at the same time looking for some other job opportunity, even if I don't get same payment or near what I'm making here, which isn't that much kind a think of it.
