Who is your favorite? Mom or dad?

I don't have a dad now so for me it would be my mom :) Hahaha. Growing up without a dad, I don't really know how it feels to have one. But I honor him still because it's written in the commandment to honor your parents. Besides I wouldn't be the person that I am if not for him though I haven't seen him yet. Anyway I still wanna know from people who you like most. I know both are equal but if you'll be able to choose one, who would it be? Just one okay? And tell your reasons. :) Take care and God bless!

Maybe both parents have different styles of rearing a child. ;) Never experienced the kind of love from a dad, and it's good to know that your dad does everything for you. :) I also wanted to have a dad like that but anyway, well I guess that's life... :) but I'm very happy with my mom now, she's such a responsible single-parent. She was able to raise us better. :)

I'm sorry to hear that Cecille. Both my parents are still with me but my favorite is my Mom. I don't know what is the main reason but I think because my mom scolds me less than my dad and when my dad scolded me it is ugly. That maybe the case why I chose my mom better than my dad but we are a close family. I really do love them both. ^^

Hi nykel.. :) thanks for the response. By the way I'm really sorry I was not able to reply to some of your comments in my discussions and others' because I was very busy the past few days. Probably the next week will not be too harsh on me. Haha ;) Anyway, regarding your answer, well it's kind of strange to hear that your mom scolds you less since MOST, if not all moms are known as naggers ;) Good to know that you have a very close family. :) Same here ;) again take care and God bless ;)

I love my parents equally. I couldn't choose a favorite now. I know growing up I would go through phases of who I liked better, but that was being a kid, and getting what I wanted from which ever parent. I love my parents and would be lost without them.

You are so right, if there was ever a time when I had preferences for one parent over the other, that was just being a kid. I realize, as I grew up, that it wasn't right to play favorites. They both loved me just as intense as the other though they each may have their own way of showing it, and of disciplining.

Don't have a favorite. NEither one was there for me in my under 18 years.., dad was always working and mom just didn't seem to want to bother with us kids other than the necessities. Later in life, when I needed things... like a place to live with my family cause unemploymnet for me and my husband left us homeless.... they let us stay a little while but were so "we really don't want to bother doing this" attitudes, we got out as soon as we possibly could. And now, neither bother with me other than if they want something from me or me to do something for them, so no favorites going on here!

And he is the only parent I need. He answered such a huge and life changing prayer this week that I am still shaking with joy!

Good question. I have both my mom and my dad. I've always favored my dad. Where my mom spoiled my brother and I, made excuses for us, bought us things for the heck of it, my dad's admiration and words of approval were the words I wished for. He taught me the value of hard work and disagreed with my mom over buying us toys and things all the time. I appreciated that in him, even as a child. I thought my mom's spending was needless and started working at fourteen even though my mom kept telling me I didn't have to. I favored my dad because he taught me life lessons I use today. My brother was the opposite...he favored my mom and was spoiled his entire life. Although he's five years older than me, wouldn't you know he's still getting spoiled, living at home, no job or schooling. I think favoring my dad and admiring him my entire life is why I am out of the house, married and with a house of my own, not to mention I'm a business owner...while my brother still lives at home and wishes to be spoiled. My mom worked too hard to be our friend and not our mother...pushed aside lessons of hard work and growing up...and now she has a son going on thirty still living with her. I feel bad for her but you reap what you sow.

What a great story you have. I admire and envy you at the same time. Wish i also have a dad like that. Sometimes I also have this feeling that I am being spoiled by my mom. Well I guess it's a case to case basis since I also want to help my single parent mom. I wish your sibling will realize what you have learned from your dad someday. Good luck and God bless you always.

I wish my brother could see the opportunities available to him as well. It's so sad that those with the most opportunity don't seize it. Even though you may not have a parent who can give you those chances, perhaps you could motivate yourself to build a great future for yourself and, if you decide to have children, you can be that type of parent for them.

I have to say my dad. Back when I was younger I was closer to my dad for many reasons. First, I am the youngest and only girl so everybody says I am a daddy's girl. Another reason would be, he was always around. He was easier to talk to even now but of course since I am older I have this gap between my parents for some reason. I have to admit I was the cause of it.

That's sad.. :( I wish you could bridge the gap between you and your parents.. maybe you can try learning and loving their interests.. so that you can have something in common ;) God bless you on that. Parents are always important in all stages of our lives MOST especially when we're getting older :)

I like my mom much more and I think I can't live without her. My father loves me also but he hasn't contributed to the family as much as my mom has. Also, my personality matches my mom's while my sister's matches my dad's. So obviously my mom is my favourite and I am my mom's most favourite daughter. The whole family knows that my mom is biased towards me in every aspect, but my family is fine with this and we live quite happily together.

i would make it my mom. though she don't take charge of everything in the house current;y, but i seemed to respect her more than my dad. bacause she seem to be more respectful to the decision that i make rather than my dad. she listen more than she responded. but every respond of her is very-very true. so that's why i picked my mom.

I will choose my mother, but I love my father too, eventhough he had brought so many pains in our family I still love him. Why I choose my mother, my mother is the best, like any child must have. She have a long patient, and she is a strong woman. She is a mother and a friend at the same time. She loves animals and she can do even the impossible just for the sake of her children. She don't easily give up, eventhough our family landed in too many trials in life she is still there giving her best to make it survive and we survived actually. I love her and I don't know what will I do when I don't see her every morning.

I think it will be my mom too.. hehe ^_^ Even though i'm much luckier to have my dad, but still, i have to choose my mom ^_^ My dad is nice too, but he's always working, and seldom home, thus there's not much he can do to show his love and care for us.. As such, he's very much accomodating to our needs whenever we ask for it.. haha =D As for my mom, we tend to spend alot of time with her, and will see the hard work she has done for the family, and her contributions to our learning and growing up.. As such, i do respect her for that ^_^

In the past, I did not have any favorites. But recently, I have become closer to my father. He is more lenient and relaxed than my mother. I guess that is what makes me open up to him more, especially if I am irritated with some people. He is also more open-minded. Don't get me wrong, I also love my mother dearly. I am also not a papa's girl. =)

I am feeling bad to here you have to grow without. But even though you respect him (eventually speaking you love him also)it means you are not able to pick your mom bluntly. That is natural human tendancy, e.g. If I ask you to pick which eye is your favorite, left or right how will you do?? Similarly I can't pick any one, ya but I truly admit that I love my mom bit more than my papa.

I love them both. Especially my mom although my love for dad would be considered official.:) just considering my dad's part on being me and because it is written in God's commandment is what makes me respect and honor him. But if you'd ask me my mom is the best too. I love her.
