do you look good in your ID?

I love to take pics and I am very photogenic. I think I like OK in my ID's. You arent allowed to smile now in the new VA state drivers license so you just look blank lol

My only real form of ID is my driver's license. It is simply horrible. It reminds me of the mother of some group of thugs or something. Horrible. Just horrible. I am embarassed to show it to people. I hope as some point to get it retaken. I really feel it is that bad. Ugh!

Hello there.:) before anything else, want to say good question you have there.;) Ok so regarding your question we just had an I.D. renewal at school and I can say that I think my recent school ID is better than the former.:) My other IDs however are not that good because each time i have my ID usually there's not enough time for preparation or either I'm haggard during that time.:-) hahahahaha..

My last one looked better, but then I was 38 when that picture was taken and in the replacement I was 51...

my id? every id, i don't look good in it. i don't know, every time i have my picture taken, i don't look good.

I am not photogenic so I try hard to get the right angles when I have my pictures taken except in IDs. I hate it when I look like a drunk felon in my student's license.

Hi, abitcurious. Yes, I feel the same way too. When I went to the DMV to take my State ID picture about 12 years ago, it came out ugly. I did not like that picture. And I had to keep it for about 5 to 10 years after that. I was so glad when this picture expired. I did take one picture that looked good on my permit, but that was the only time. I took a state ID picture in December of 2009, and it looked okay. But, my other ID pictures did not look so hot at all. On the outside of these pictures I am considered a very beautiful girl but when I take pictures at the DMV, I look like a whole different person. There was once a receptionist that saw a picture of me and she was like, this picture is so ugly, but you are very pretty. I was ashamed at what she said. Even she knew that this picture of me was not pretty. It did not look like me at all. So, I know exactly how you feel. Believe me I do. They should allow us to get a couple of more poses so that we can choose which picture that we want the best. I don't like to show anyone a picture of me that looks bad. I want to say congratulations to you on getting your license. Please pray for me because I am planning on going for mines within a couple of months from now. I really want to have it so bad! I am very happy for you. Did you have to back up straight?? I was having problems keeping the wheel very straight. I was also nervous when I was backing up straight too.

I've the same dilemma as you do, Abitcurious.:-) I always think that I don't look good in any of my IDs or in any picture in particular including this one here in Mylot.But, there is nothing that I can do. I am not as photogenic as some people are...:-( My only consolation is, I'd rather look ugly in my picture than looking uglier in personal.LOL Have a wonderful evening. :-)

...Hi abitcurious, Of all the pictures I have ever had taken, my driver's license photograph is the very worse. I wore a hat to the DMV, not thinking that you could not wear a hat for the picture. It was the last day that I could get the license renewed so I could not go home and make my hair look better, so I got the picture taken. I really want to burn it, it is that horrible. So ticked with that stupid picture, so far I have only had to show it once. Hope it stays that way, I don't know if we take a new picture or not for renewal, but I would sure like another picture. They only take one shot, no choices. Take it easy.

Im sorry you dont like your pic in your ID. I used to love my pics. When Id go to have my pic taken at the licence bureau, the woman there was so funny, she'd make jokes, help me with my hair and took my pic when I had a nice smile on. This year I was so surprised when I went over for my pic. It was a new lady and she must have had a very bad day. She said I wasnt allowed to smile, she actually told me to "wipe that smirk off my face"?!?!?!? I told her that I would smile if I wanted to. She then said that we werent ALLOWED to smile on our driving ID anymore ........what??? Well its true, we're not allowed to smile. What an awful pic of myself.....!!! So what I did was to cut off the pic of me before and I scotshtaped it on this horrible pic. Who makes those rules......I hate people making stupid rules and wish I could get to meet them to make their lives miserable also.

no i dont think i will look good in my id . i think those who take photos for the identity card are the worst ever photographers . i have seen only a few person who look good in their id or the same as they would be in straight . i cant understand the reason why the id photos are poor . i always look bad in id...

I am in the same situation like you- my photo of the driver's license is really awful, just because the woman in the driver's license service didn't want to accept my photo, because it was older than 6 months and I was very angry, because i have to walk in the deep snow and in the cold just to make a photo and it costs me also a lot, becaues I had to give it to 1 hour and all the anger you can see on my driver's license photo :)

I actually like my driver's license photo! The only problem is that it looks nothing like me now, lol! Every time I use it, people ask me if it's really me - I have blonde hair and green eyes (i.e. contacts) in the picture - and now (4 years later), I have dark brown hair, brown eyes (i.e. no contacts) and glasses. Luckily, they have all that info on the back of the card! My student ID card, on the other hand, ...I hate that picture! Here they use the same picture as our student ID cards on our bus passes, so, I'm constantly having to show it to people...yikes. If only I could use my driver's license picture on my student ID, lol!

When I first got my ID in High School. It was hideous!! They gave me about two seconds to get ready and while my other peers were peeking in to laugh, it kind of is just an uneasy feeling. Fortuneatley when I took my picture at the DPS office in the small town that Im from luckily there wasnt a long line and the lady snapped a few pics. So luckily I "think" my picture looks good. However its about the only one. Also I think a lot of it has to do with us being very critical of our appearances, one person thinks it looks fine and on the other hand you don't. Im sure it is just you thinking that it looks terrible.

ahhh to be young again and think a photo ID picture is so important. You do know you get new pictures each time you renew your liscence right? As for the school ID you'll probably just loose it and have to get a new one or a new one the next ear so what is the big deal?

I am glad that I look good in my ID card. Actually at that night I had a haircut, and then I went to take a photo for my ID card photo. So perhaps this is why I look good:) I love China

I just got a new one not too long ago. I expected it to look really terrible, but it's not that bad. I thought I would have my eyes closed but it came out better than I expected. I put on makeup and did my hair for it so I could try to get a decent picture.

i really i do hate if i don't have i have a nice shot on my id picture, so what i usually do after a couple of month is i intentionally misplace it so i will have another new id

I have never looked good in any id picture. I think they want them to look bad so if you get pulled over or arrested they can just use that for your bad mugshot. Ha.

Unfortunately no and I'm sad about it lol. I wish I can be more photogenic but I get shy around the camera since I dont know the photographer. I hope someday I can overcome this shyness.
