Today the competitions are starting in speed skating and ski jumping. My favorite sport in the Winter Olympics is the figure skating. Its just so beautiful how they skate plus I wish I had did this in my life when I was younger. As for the Summer Olympics it would have to be track and field. I prefer the Winter Olympics because of the figure skating competition. So what do you perfer Winter or Summer Olympics? Also for the Olympics which is your favorite sport for each.

I love the summer Olympics because of all the track events. I also use to run track in high school so I grew up with it around me a lot when I was younger. I also enjoy watching the winter Olympics. Mainly for the figure skating as well. The grace and discipline is astonishing to me.

i am cheering for CANADA 2!!!! the only thing i wish that Canada would do better is have more funding for all the younger people that have the talent to make it big when they are older and have the chance to get into the Olympics when they are older. i think they are the ones that should be receiving better coaching at that specific sport. this is my personal view of canadas athletic program and should spend more time with the younger people to be sure that they are getting the best coaching the can to succeed in that sport later on in life. GO CANADA!!!!!

I don't really get into the Olympics, winter or summer, but I do like to watch the figure skating if I'm around when it's on. I like the beautiful costumes and seeing them do all those movements that look impossible like the jumps and twirls in the air. I like the couples skating, too, some of them are very good at setting a mood and lending emotion to the performance.

I'm rooting for Shen and Zhao after hearing their story. They skate beautifully and with such joy and passion! I do not understand the scoring, though. Two of the guys fell and still got high scores, higher than one pair that had no falls. It makes me wonder if the games are fixed like so many other sports.

Hockey would have to be the centerpiece for the winter Olympics. It is where the best in the world get to play. Some are playing in the NHL, but the Olympics is worth their nationalistic pride. There are lots of curious sports to see for the summer Olympics. Beach volleyball would be one. I would also like to see the rowing competitions. The iron man type competition would also be interesting. Of the two, I prefer the winter games.

My favorite sport is Ice Hockey. Winter Olympics 2010 has some issues to answer. But winter Olympics is great, it is nice to have a cold sport. I have just found out about the history of winter Olympics on this site. http://sportales.com/sport/the-winter-olympics-2010 .

I don't have a favorite event. I watched women's moguls last night, and the last couple of competitors took the silver and gold, so that was exciting. Then I watched a little bit of the men's luge event. I prefer the summer Olympics, but I'm really struck with how dangerous these winter sports are.

Hi lelin; Either or winter or summer Olympics. I totally love the skating as well. It is so beautiful to watch. As a dancer, I so wished I would of gotten into figure skating as a child. As an adult now, I look back and wonder why I never did. I can watch skating for hours, days, weeks. Same with ballet or any dance for that matter. Overall, if I had to pick a favorite sport that would be it. Until something new arrives, I can not think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon but watching the ice dancing. I do enjoy the horse jumping too though. Here is a link to the Olympic Schedule: http://www.mahalo.com/olympics-schedule-2010 Ice Skating is on tomorrow at 4;30 pm. I'll be watching.

I prefer the summer Olympics have never been into the winter Olympics as the sports that are in it I have no interest in. Also we never seem to win anything in them. My partner was telling me that not one British got through to the qualifying stage in one of the events today I think he said it was ski jumping. I enjoy the track and field in the summer Olympics. I also enjoy watching the judo along with my 12 year old daughter due to the fact that she is twice national champion two years running in her weight group and hopes that one day she will compete in the Olympics.

I think I prefer summer Olympics, because there are many sports I like. My favorite one in summer Olympics is perhaps beach volley. In winter Olympics I like to watch hockey or cross country skiing.

I like watching the riding, so I prefer the Summer Olympics. And there's really a bit too much sport on the TV during the Winter Olympics, it's not so bad during the Summer Olympics. And then if we don't get good enough results, they'll go on forever about what when wrong and why and what must be done differently til the next time. I watch a bit of this and that during the winter olympics, there's no way you can't watch skiing (except turning off the TV and don't read any news), but I don't watch hockey or curling, or bob etc. And I don't watch the whole 50 km cross country or the 10000 skating, unless I'm doing something else at the same time.
