Do you ever feel to write a book?

Yes. I am in the process of writing a novel right now. That's actually why I'm on mylot answering posts. I'm at a sticky point in the plot and I'm taking a break. I have had success in writing. And, as any writer will tell you, I have had dismal, heart-wrenching failures. I would ask anyone that wants to be a professional writer two questions: 1) Why do you want to put yourself in the position of making a living from your writing? If it's to lead some kind of glamorous lifestyle, or make a million bucks, I would advise you to go into publishing, medicine, or acting (your chances may be better as a thespian, than being a writer). 2) If you do find success are you willing to commit to it? Agents, editors, and publishers all have needs. It's like having three spouses. If you let one down, you've let them all down. As far as what encourages anyone to write ... you simply have a story to tell. It's fun, a rush. In the microcosm of your story you are allowed to play God. You'll breathe life into your characters. Take a blank piece of paper, and turn it into something that evokes emotion from your reader. Why wouldn't you want to write a book? Even if it's just for yourself. As for what kind of books inspire me, I have no idea. It's like asking, "What's your favorite song?" It just depends on where your head is at. Hope this helps.

I have written and published books of short stories in Spanish. In my short stories usually the characters make me write. That means I have to do it. I am an avid reader and read all kinds of genres. Probably I pick a book depending on the moment. There are books I would only read on vacations. There are books that I almost know by heart, so many times I have reread them. Ive had the feeling to write a book for as long as I can remember. My book would definitely be about my personal experiences throughout life because heaven knows I have a lot to say. My book would probably be titled, "How to deal with a passionate strong woman". I would give it that title because my girlfriend is a Passionate strong woman. So yes, I would love to write a book someday.
