Many persons sing their national anthem with pride ,stoutly defend their country against those who belittle it ,wear their national colours to matches and even paint themselves in the national colour .
However would they be willing to die for the president in the name of nationalistic fervour or nation before self philosophy .Could they look beyond the fact that they never voted for this president or do not agree with his policies and just take the bullet or whatever si required .Or would they just say "what the heck" ,they can find another president but my children need me .
Thanks in advance for your response .

hi! no way, i will not sacrifice my own life for the president of the republic, just because I don't like politicians, because they have turned my country in one big nothing, and I really hate them and will not make such a thing. I will sacrifice it for a person I know it worths, but for a politician, i will never do it!

NO WAY. I have never in my life heard of or saw a president who is more worth than my life or those i love. I personally feel that most presidents in today,s ife ain,t worth any citizens old shoes. If they want a fight with another country, let them take that step themselves.

You have asked the question....but you have not said whether you would do it. What would you do Ronnyb? As for myself, I don't know. These things can happen only on the spur of the moment. It is so easy to say that I would die for my country or president or anything else, when you are sitting safe and cosy. Lets see if it is that easy, when you actually have to do it. Lets be practical.

The answer to taht my friend is easy ..hell noo lol I know right off the bat that I woldnt die for no president irrespective of how much I love him ,I would only die for my family .That is the only worthwhile reason for me to die for someone else and not all family too, more liek a close family member

There were on 4 presidents I would die for. Thomas Jefferson, FDR, Kennedy , and Clinton. Thomas Jefferson is my favorite. he wrote down the dream I live. " The Pursuit Of Happiness". FDR saved the u.S. and with his leadership the Allies saved the world from the Nazis.Kennedy. He was a symbol of hope when we needed it . And if I could die Nov 22nd instead of him the world would have been a better place. And as for Clinton? I just like him.But The current prez , no I wouldn't die for him. He is a good guy and he is of the correct party I just wouldn't die for him.

I love my country and I´m proud of many of it´s achievements. But I would not die fighting for my country or my president. I already helped and fought to get democracy back. But I think that politicians don´t know what the word democracy means. Many of them like better the word power. I don´t belong to any political party or any establised church. I can imagine myself fighting in a man to man fight with someone who wanted to hurt the ones I love. That is all I´d do.

Well since I am not married and don't have any children and voted for the current President and believe in what he is trying to accomplish I would do my best to protect him.
That being said protecting the President and actually getting shot are two very different things.

Well I was not born a nationalistic or patriotic kind of person. I can't die for a President. Why should I? I don't think he can't also die for me either. Politicians are politicians no matter what. While there are those like Ninoy, I don't think dying for President or any politician is something for me. I could die for my family or a very good friend but not for any politician.

Of course not, I am not out of my mind yet to get my own life just for the sake of our President. Our President is very famous for being the most corrupt official in our country and all she did was to robe and rob and rob and rob the wealth of my country just for her own and her family. Is that the kind of President worth dying for?

Sorry but I won't. There are other things that I can do for my country other than be in the coffin.
Besides I didn't vote for the current president that we have right now and I do not see any reasons why I would protect someone a person like that!!!
This president didn't thought of the people under this regime, so why would we care about this person. I have to admit this president did a lot of headlines and this president is very hard to believe as a national treasure.
I'll just wait for a president who I truly admire and truly believe in. Protect him/her but not to the point of giving your life.
My family needs me as well. I can die for them but not because of other people.

im a very patriotic person and i would die for my country if circumstances permits me to. but when it comes to the president, i wont. here i our country our president doesnt have the reputation to be called as "hero" and worth dying for. even the former president here has their reputation of a corrupt and bribed leaders. i still have a lot of things to do in life rather than wasting my life for them.

I don't think people risk their lives for the president. I think they do it for the country as a whole, meaning their family, friends, neighbors and others who uphold the same cultural values, and also to defend their way of life from threats. The president is only a temporary leader anyway.

I would not. I would die for my country if we were invaded by an evil power and if our freedom of religion and values were threatened. But when someone, even our own prime minister that i admire, demands or gives the opinion that you should die not for our country, but for himself, he becomes a dictator.
I \ assume you are talking about Obama. Okay substitute the word, Hitler instead of "would you die for the Fatherland (meaning Germany(" or Stalin for "would you die for the Motherland,(meaning Russia)" or even if you were a Filipino and you were expected to die for your leader, or for the queen if you were English.
I am sure you would be shocked, but apparently some feel it acceptible for die for Obama. Why the difference?

My country is a democratic and we have president as the higher leader of the country. But he was chosen by all citizens from a neutral democratic voting and the leadership period is very limited, usually between a range of four to six years only.. I think with such voting system, everybody has a same chance to be a president, although the fact it's not an easy thing to reach that position. However, i think die for our country is as a hero is an honour. But if die for a president who was chosen from one by one voting, it seems not really a brave thing to proud, especially if the president is not a good president, a corrupt president, or haven't make any good thing for the country. And since the president was chosen from one by one voting, i think it should be the president die for our country if it's really needed. Such governmental system is totally different with a kingdom country system or popularly say as a monarch system. But since we all are living in this modern world, i think we all know what is our purposes for our country. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

If the president would ever have to rely on someone like me to protect them, then I do not know what to tell you. I think I would leave him in more capable hands. That way, he has a better chance of actually living to see another day. Besides, I doubt I would ever find myself in that position. Even then, I might respect this company, but there is a difference between respecting something and being fanatic to it. Therefore, I think dying for the president will be a bit much for me but it is hard to tell unless I am in that situation.

No! Never!! Obama isn't doing anything besides putting crappy ideas out there for everyone to discuss like he's actually helping with something. He makes me so angry. He and his family are only trying to put an image out there that shows they are a "good family" and that they have ideas. Obama technically shouldn't even be allowed to be president according to United States laws and Michelle Obama is a thief. She stole millions of dollars when she was an attorney a few years ago. She went to jail, trial everything yet she's in the white house?! Who knows what this president is going to destroy!
