if you set-up a company of your own,can you really employ your family member??

No,I wouldn't employ my own family.Just think how uncomfortable it would be if you had to have a word with them because they did something wrong!But if you do employ your family make sure that they understand that work life and your (and theirs)personal/family life are 2 separate categories.So no hard feelings if you have to yell at them like a normal employee

Legally, of course you can. The quiestion is, do you want to? You know your family members better than most people, and you know what kind of skills and attitude your company needs. The needs of the business don't always match up with the desires and abilities of your relatives and friends. As well as possible, separate out your feelings of love and/or responsibility toward family and consider the business need. In some cases, your spouse or child might be perfect in one job or another, but in others, you don't even want to bother with a trial. A family that can and will truly work together is incredibly dynamic and usually very successful; family members that can't or won't organize to see to the health of the business are better off seeking employment elsewhere. Your business will be better off, too.

My english is poor ,hope u understand.I have a small company that only have 4-5 people there. I hired two of my cousins at the begenning of the last year.As i am their older brother,I'm always doing a lots of work instead let themselves do what they should do at first.When they got used to that,they always became relying on me in the end.I confused with that.Cause I can not fired them,they're my cousin anyhow! But now I'm sobered.Only be strict with them can help themselves improved.So this year,I won't regard them as my family member at work-hour.I just look on them as one of my staff.I wonnt let them call me brother in the office. Won't tolerate any of them go work late. I suggest u that be strict with your family member if u have to employ them.Don't afriad the "rule" of family.THE more rigorous u treat them, the more useful for them in our society.Hope u understand.
