Hi Mylot Friends, We just celebrated Valentines Day and is now celebrating the Chinese New Year... there's another one we are celebrating-----THE TEACHER'S DAY. We all experienced having a teacher once in our lives. If we will be given the chance to thank them and show our appreciation and gratefulness to them what will it be? They in a way contributed to what we are now... Do you have anything in mind for your teachers? i will appreciate any views from you. thanks!

Hello my friend How are you, hope all is well. I use to think about things like this alot when I was younger, to let my teachers know I appreciated them I use to write them little notes when I handed in my work, just to let them know how much I learned and how grateful I was to have them, we have some great teachers out there and they should be appreciated for their hard work. Great post my friend

Hi Kitty, Finally, you're back friend. i am so happy to hear from you again. it's been a while dear. anyway, you are smart to appreciate your teacher's effort that early. at least they know from that time how grateful you are for all the things that you've learned from them. notes are sweet and will last for a lifetime. they may be keeping it until this time. we too in our own simple ways are teachers to our dear kids as we re-enforce messages learned in school when they reach home!

Hi Winky, So you are on celebration mood too, ha ha nice dear. When you are celebrating teacher’s day? We are celebrating teacher’s day on September 5, it is the birthday of our former Vice President Dr. Radhakrishnan who was a great teacher too. So honoring him, his birthday is celebrating as the teacher’s day. Kids are taking ‘rose’ and cards for their teachers.

Hi Sreekala, WE used to celebrate Teacher's Day on the 15th of february. That's why in school, my kids celebrated it together with the valentine's day (and the chinese new year too for this year). Yes, i learned about that date with one of my mylot friends from your country. we do the same things here too--roses, cards and something that the teachers will use. i was to thank some of my teachers last december 2009 when i attended the alumni homecoming celebration in our school. they were so happy and proud of me. I honored them because they been part of my success in life and in my career! thanks for responding and have a great weekend!

Hi CK, It's February 15th. But we celebrated it in my kids school last february 12. actually it was a triple celbration--teacher's day, chinese new year and of course valentines day. it was really fun. angelo led the opening prayer during their program. that prayer will keep give them so much strength to continue reaching our to kids patiently teach them what we learned from them. we are so lucky for having the chance to attend school and have great teachers.

This is a tough one for me. Good teachers are gratified in the achievement of their students; great teachers are few and far between. If someone has benefitted from the influence of a teacher the best way to acknowledge it is by writing a letter to that teacher.

Hi Canellita, Nice to hear and see you again here my dear friend. A letter is one of the sweetest things that we can do for our teachers. I got your point friend...a single letter became a word, single word became a phrase, phrases became sentence and single sentence became parangraph ---and that became possible with our teachers' patience, effort and hardwork to make us learn from simple, difficult and even complicated things. a "letter" is very symbolic about our learnings from them. it will surely touched their hearts. thanks friend.

Hi msf, I had the chance to say a piece of my mind to my elementary school teachers when I was invited to be the graduation day's guest speaker 12 years after I finished elementary grade. I was fresh from college and was on my first job when I received an invitation to give an inspirational talk to the school graduates. After giving my inspirational message to the graduating class, I went on to thank my teachers for their untiring efforts in giving me the the knowledge and skills that helped me face challenges and triumphs. Some of them had tears in their eyes while I was saying my speech, I was teary-eyed too. Amazingly, most of my teachers were still there 12 years since I left the school, and their presence made me feel nostalgic.

I haven't even thought about gifts for my daughter's teachers. I typically try to do gifts for them for Christmas and for the end of the school year. As far as they go, I like to give them something that is useful to them in some, way, shape or form. I'm thinking that when the end of this school year comes around I am going to set up a little basket of Tupperware pieces for them because I am a consultant and I'm able to get the things for a deep discount.

Hi Dorann, That's a great and practical idea for a gift to teachers. they will love it. they can use it at home and even in school for their lunch or snacks. my mom was a tupperware dealer too and i know the quality of it. it's expensive here but really durable. thanks for sharing friend!

Hello friend, Well I have changed many a schools during my childhood. So I were never a student whom a teacher could notice. My final years at school were quite miserable so that aggrieved the situation further. But I was at Alliance Francaise and there this teacher who taught us the first level of French was an incredible one. She taught us the new language so beautifully that the learning was so easy. I would remember her for a very long time she ought to be my favorite and I owe a great deal of respect to her. I just hope that she continues the good work at she is at her best. Bodhi

hello friend, Actually,i could still remember some of my elementary teachers. And i can still figure their faces in my memory. My elementary teachers i love mosts. Some teachers lost their temper easily. But i am so lucky to have good teachers way back in my elementary days. They were very supportive and like mothers to me. I respect all teachers for having the patient...courage and endurance. It's not easy to motivate more than 20 students/pupil in a class. So,being a teacher needs a good person to bring out good quality of students from the class.

Hi, my friend, as a student studing at a normal university, I am very interested in this topic. Actually, most of my classmates will become a teacher after we graduate. I once work in a high school as a practising teacher, I never realise how difficult to be a great teacher until then. To be a great teacher, one should always care about every student. Love, responsibility, patience are the basic requirements for this job. From then on, I respect the teachers of mine even more than before. I think the Teacher's Day is a very improtant day for both teacher and students.

Hello MsFrancisco, I was a grade-A student. Didnt need to listen or study much to be first of class. Ive had good teachers and bad ones. Many didnt pay much attention to me as they knew I didnt need their help. I was also the clown of the class. So Ive spent many days outside the classroom instead of inside, being thrown out for disturbing everybody. I do remember one teacher who knew that if he kept me busy, Id be quiet and he sure did. He helped me learn even more and Im so grateful to him. I wish I knew where he is today so I could tell him how much a difference he made in my life. Teachers dont have it easy and yet, nobody thanks them for shaping up the future generations.

I have respect to the teachers. Teachers are the guide of us. They are the lightening in the darkness of our ignorance. Alleviating our ignorance they lead us to the light. Celebration of THE TEACHER'S DAY is the respect and honor to the teacher. We should remain grateful to our teacher. And gratefulness is the quality of the student. We can't compensate out teacher with anything. So we need to be grateful to them ever in our life.
