Lately, I felt tired of washing dishes every mealtime so I suggested to my hubby that we will use paper plate for me to rest once in a while washing plates or if he doesn't agree with it, I will declare to wash your own plate.. hahaha!!! he doesn't want to wash it either so, he agreed to buy paper plate so that we can use it once in a while and I can rest washing plates every meal time. Of all the household chores, I hate washing plates... What about you? did you ever declare to wash your own plate? Curios!!!

Ha!ha!ha! That is very funny! You are only two in your home and yet you have this rule! You made me really laugh my friend! Well I can't blame you my friend! If you really hate this task then your husband should understand. If he doesn't really like to wash plates either then he should buy all the paper plates and disposables to make you happy!

or how about putting in an order on your wish list for a dish washer?
When I am at home and the dishes are huge because of sometimes many people and meals, I have said to my dad, you should get a dishwasher. His response is that he has one, while looking straight at me.
One night just kidding to see what his reaction would be I said "Dad, the dishwasher broke". He wasn't impressed.
As kids my sister and I did the dishes every night. Every Night!
YOu can bet I am sick of dishes and can totally relate to using paper plates.
We do that sometimes just for ease sake and is a nice change once in awhile.

hahaha I don't know my friend why I hate to wash plates all the time. If only once in a while it is fine with me but every meal time? and lots of plates and glasses? Oh my!! hubby keeps on eating snacks, deserts whatsoever when he is home and use saucers now and then. Oh my glasses everywhere. huh!!!
and yes,I think I have to ask for dishwasher. Hubby has dishwasher before but he gave it to a friend.. and now I am the one washing the plates all the time.. I hate that, honestly ... heheheh

Dearest Bebs; Thank you for your discussion. Now I know that I am not alone.
I get so tired of washing dishes every night but also during the day. Breakfast and lunch but also dinner.
I tend to wash dishes as I am cooking because I like order and cleanliness.
By the time we have dinner, there is only the plates left.
I have asked for ones own breakfast dishes and 'mess' be cleaned as we eat at different times. This includes lunch dishes as well.
Other times I have said, everyone washes their own dishes.
Sometimes it is only fair.
Sure it is nice to have the family in for dinner but how many heads are there? That is actually going to be three loads of dishes. Ug!
I learned this from having roommates. Everyone cleans up after themselves.
It is nice when others can pitch in.
Or just give you a night off all together. This happens occasionally and is really appreciated.
Another one for me is cleaning the tub out after you use it so that the next person doesn't have to wash it before using it. What a drag that is and I have had to do it too many times to even try and count! Drives me bananas. I'll take dinner dishes over a dirty tub any day but yes, I have declared wash your own plate on more than one occasion.

It is good to declare washing ones own plate after eating, especially when eating at different times. I feel that it is only common courtesy not to mention a more responsible thing to do. This is a good habit for everyone to pick up.

hahahaha!!! I'm glad I am not alone in this situation.. I really hate washing all the time. and that's right!! it's hard when we are not eating at the same time.. there are lots of plates and glasses and cups every now and then because we use it in different times. Messy sink all the time so, it is good to declare washing own plate after eating hehehe.

You are so lucky to have a hubby who likes to wash plates. I understand also my hubby if he doesn't do that because his work is too hard during the day and while I am not working outside home. I just work online and most of the time I am home. There are times that I am not home and when he is there alone he would do the cooking and the washing of plates but that is just once in a blue moon.

Once in awhile I do, especially if I'm tired and had a busy day, and the last thing I want to do is wash dishes especially after cooking, I'm ready to get out of that kitchen. We use paper plates all the time, its easier and they're microwaveable, good for heating things up. Now if we've got company over for dinner or something, I'll break out the real plates, but I'll usually wait till the next day to wash them..lol.

hi bebs
This topic is funny he he
I remember when I was still in high school our eldest sister assign me with this chores
after dinner I always have to do the dishes, we are 6 in the family so there are lot of dishes to be done, after been doin it for so long time I asked my mom to declare " wash own plate " and so she did it. I was so happy cos I don't need to stand for 30 minutes with all the plates.he he
So starting that day, we all have to wash our own plates.
But, now that I am married I have no choice but to do it every after meals

It is really tiresome to wash plates all the time. I agree it is a good feeling when everybody wash his own dishes. I know only very few people want to wash dishes all the time so, they will minimize using lots of dishes to avoid washing lots of plates specially if each one will wash his own plate hahaha..

We use paper plates sometimes, and also have a rule... whoever cooks does not have to wash the dishes. Someone else gets to do it, or everyone washes their own. Everyone works outside the home(or at least used to till recently) and so we all have to chip in around the house as well.

It's just my husband and me in the house now and there are many times when we use paper plates...especially if I've made a casserole or something that doesn't require the use of a lot of pots and pans. When we cook burgers on the grill I normally have potato or pasta salad and heat up baked beans in the microwave so I don't use my stove. Using paper plates then makes clean up a breeze.

Correct I agree with that. I feel relieved now that we used paper plates once in a while. Tonight for supper we had soup, so we did not use the paper plate. hahaha But I agree with you. It is cleaner when we use paper plate and no washing anymore I like that.

Hey Bebs! How are you girlfriend! I agree with you! Only once
in awhile if I cook a really big dinner my boyfriend will wash
all the dinner dishes and do all the cleanup! But, when he eats
something at night or for lunch when he is home on the weekend
he leaves the dirty dishes for me and it drives me crazy! But,
he doesn't want to eat off paper plates! He has to microwave
all his food until your tongue could fall off!lol So he refuses
to allow paper plates in the house! And I also hate having to
always do dishes! And if I leave dishes to soak in the sink
overnight he has a fit, but won't wash them! What am I going to
do?

hey Opal, I am Good...hahaha... I hate washing plates honestly!!! but I have to do it, hubby sometimes helped me but I pity on him because he is tired from work and he heard me complaining about the pile of plates on the sink he will offer to help. But then i would not let him. I am embarrassed to let him wash all the dishes while I am just home.. hehehe.. but again, I hate washing plates. I am just glad he agreed to buy paper plates hahaha it solved my problem.

Hello bebs,
I think I was able to declare "wash your own plate" already. But not exactly at our home but at my mom's home. Since, I am already separated from her. I still have three younger brothers who are so lazy in washing the dishes. They would always pinpoint who will wash and will result to endless debate. To cut the fights and debates, I told them to wash their own plate. I even suggested that they would name their plates so they'll know who didn't wash their own plate.
It was a bit effective at first, but when its school time and they are always in a hurry to go to school, they just can't wash their own plate. In the end my stepfather will be the one who will wash the dishes.
Take care and have fun myLotting red_amethyst

well! We have this habit at home of everybody washing their own plates once they have eaten and its good. The worst thing will be cooking and doing the dishes too.
But using disposable plates n cups at home is a no!no! for me again.

We haven't experienced it, we all have task during meal time and the duties for dish washing is rotating so we don't have arguments in terms of that. I am assigned every weekend because I am working during weekdays, my younger brother and sister are assigned in dish washing during that day because they stayed in the house.

Oh that is very good when you are lots in the home so you can schedule the dish washer. What if only 2 of you and once in a while there are other people who will stay and don;t wash plates? that's kind of hard.. that is why paper plates are good or when they don't use paper plates they should wash their own plates.
