If you were to donate an organ when you die, which one will you donate?

After a California Highway Patrolman told me that they actually check for organ donation to determine how hard they try to save a life....I changed to no organ donation. To think that law enforcement would not try as hard to save me because my organs may be donated is SCARY! This was about 15 years ago and hopefully procedure has changed but until I hear it for myself I'll keep my organs, thanks.

Basqui, I hope policy has changed but haven't heard. That also may have been just that one department with that policy, perhaps unofficial. It still was enough to stop me from organ donation.

thats scary. but im an organ donor. i remember before, when i ws in high school. they gave us a form to be an organ donor and i didnt know what that was all about so i just fill out the form, then when the question ask me what part of my body i will donate if i die, i stop and scared then i ask my teacher that i need to ask my parents first. then they said they need the papers now, so i have no choice but to put my heart instead coz i was thinking that even if im already due my heart will still go on hahaha... besides i know its one of the important part of the body. then they gave us a card. and i showed it to my mother. and my mother was very angry so she went to the school and talk to the principal, and told them that we are still minors to make any decision and its a very serious things that need parental decision. she was thinking that what if someone will intentionally kill me only bcoz a rich person need a heart surgery and they are willing to give out money so it means im on the list coz i signed. scary really

what school was that? they should not let minors sign on as organ donors coz they don't still know what it means eh? good thing your mother clarified your decision.

It's unusual for someone under 18 to agree to a donation, even to a family member. Pressure to donate is just wrong, though I don't think you're in any danger of being hunted down and killed for your vital organs. Really.

i would donATE MY EYES TO A BLIND PERSON BECAUSE I THINK THERE IS NOTHING MORE PRECIOUS AND IMPORTANT IN THIS WORLD THAN BEING ABLE TO SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL GOD'S CREATIONS ARE.

I can't say what organ I will donate, because I will not know what organs will be usefull at the time. All I can say is whatever they can use from me. Who can really know something like this? What will you give?

I'm a registered organ donor already; if I have parts that someone else can use, more power to them when I'm done! As to what, it doesn't matter to me. Most likely it would be my corneas, heart, lungs and liver, which are in pretty good shape, even at my age. Less likely would be bone marrow. I'm not sure if my skin could be used or not.

Yes, but not every organ. and I also want to know the person to whom I will give my organ to know if that person would do the same in my situation.. It's good to know.
