i always want to kill them those who believe in god. what is god? it is nothing but a concept, created by few greedy, selfish and clever peoples.
what actually we need it is to bring to some self-confidence among people.

Well I can't say your idea is totally wrong, but it's also true that we cannot know, I do not believe in the god described in the bible for the simple fact that he seems to be way too much human like, loves his sons but will punish them with eternal pain , but we should never forget to forgive our enemies...uhmmm something doesn't sound right to me :/

Oh yes, I definately believe in God. The bible tells us He always was, that He has always been there and although there are times that I don't live by everything in the bible I do believe it. As humans it's difficult not to ask how and why but isn't that what faith is really all about? Believing in something even when you don't understand. If I am wrong, then in the end will it really matter?

Of course there are differences between the old and new testaments. The birth and crucifixion of Christ changed everything. I have faith because my grandmother had faith, my mother had faith and so on and so on. No, in this instance I don't see faith as a bad thing. I think this life would be very sad if I didn't have faith in something.

Agreed with your last sentence. But I don't agree when you say : " My grandmother had faith, my mother had faith and so on and so on" I think you should not "belive" all the things that are told to you just beacause your mother, grandmother or friends do belive that, I give a good value to my own mind, if things do not work for me then I think and get to a conclusion that is good for my own brain.

Yes I do believe in God. In my nicene creed I say
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
God is someone superior to us. He was not created nor made. God does not have a starting point as human do. It's very difficult to understand God with our human mind.

Sorry for the late reply. I agree with you, if God really exists then we cannot give a start nor an end it just exists, about the creed, don't forget that we should not take literally what is written in the bible, prayers or any holy book, religion is a sort of philosophy never ever take it literally

Yes, I believe. If God created the universe as is written then he is outside time. By Einsteinian Relativity space and time are a continuum; no space, no time. Therefore, existence for God is timeless, it makes, therefore, no more sense to ask who created God than to ask what is outside the universe
all the best urban

Nice answer, I like yours the most so far :) I agree with that. I'm not an atheist neither a real catholic. It is very difficoult for me to belive to the stories that are written in the Bible, is is so clear that is has been written by humans and not by a god. But this is another topic. Let's say that I'm thinking in different way if a god can exist, I belive more in a sort of spirit as it could be nature which is very important for all living things, in that case if the christian god or another god exists it has always existed; we created time, our lives have a start and an end, but that doesn't mean that everything has a start and an end.

I will do it, not now beacause I would like to hear what others think and don't influence it. :)

I respect your opinion ifa225. I would like to ask you : do you think that if you were born on another country you would believe to a different God??

God caused self, to create self with self. Now let me hear your idea about who created God.

I'm agnostic and my point on the whole god debate is that "should it really matter if he exists or not?" If he does then I believe that it would be beyond man's limited understanding. If he doesn't then it's no skin off my back. I just make it a point to become a better person as it's what is most important to me rather than ponder on a being that I know I would never be able to fully comprehend nor verify if it's true
