Yes, giving birth is scary especially for first time moms. When it was my turn I was so ready to give birth. I've read everything I can about it. Prepared myself mentally and physically. But during labor, I was so exhausted. I can't get to push anymore that the doctors had to do an emergency C-section. I guess this just shows that giving birth really is scary. But once you see your baby you'll forget all about it.

It is natural to be fearful of giving birth for the first time, and for the time after that too! It is a fear of the unknown more than anything else and if you talk to a lot of women about it, each one has had a different experience so you have no way of knowing how it is going to be for you. My first experince at giving birth was just exhausting. It was a textbook 36 hour long labour and most og that I had pain relief so I actually slept halfway through the experience. My second was completely different and somewhat more frightening. I was in a foreign country and it all happened so quickly. My waters broke at home and I just got to the hospital in time to have my baby there. In less than an hour it was all over, and yes it was painful, but it is quickly forgotten when you have your baby inyour arms.

I have given birth two times and it was scary. In fact, second time was bit more scary. first time, I was in lanor for 12 hours, but second time it was only for 2 hours. It becomes more scary after giving birth, not much before.

I have 2 children and another on the way and I am still scared of giving birth. There are so many things that can go wrong. People always say that a pregnant woman has 1 foot in a grave. Then worrying about that needle they put in your back. If they stick it in the wrong place you could be messed up for life. Worry about if the baby will be ok. It is a very scarey thing to go through but once everything is ok and you hold that tiny life in your arms you forget about that and start a whole new list of things to worry about. Your in charge of protecting that little life.

I think you worry about it and get scared until you're close to delivery date and very pregnant and uncomfortable and just want to have the baby and get it over with. Once you are pregnant, you pretty much accept that the baby will have to come out!

When i got pregnant, many questions came to my mind even though i am prepared theoretically. It is really normal to be afraid specially for first time moms because no matter how much you know in theory, every giving birth experience is different from the other. Labor pains for one differs because each of us have different levels of pain tolerance. But once you gave birth and see your baby for the first time, all the pain goes away. It is indeed a very fulfulling experience when you see and hold your baby for the first time after carrying the baby in your womb for nine months. Cheers to all moms out there!

I was terrified of having a baby. Before my due date, my blood pressure keep going up, I think it was because of the stress. Once in the delivery room, and I had the epidural everything was ok.

I am not scared. I have given birth twice. The first one was quite difficult because my doctor admitted me too early. However, my 2nd one was easy. I only labored for 10 minutes, no anesthesia. :) it is so cool being a mom.
