How many pairs of footwear do you have that you actually wear?

I am not a very fashion conscious person but do have several different pairs of footwear and nearly all of them get worn. I have 3 pairs of ordinary shoes. One plain black lace up pair for serious stuff,1 suede lace up ankle boot type for rainy days and a zip up ankle boot that gets worn in the garden as they are split on the sole. Then there are my PE shoes. I have a pair of flat blue plimsolls,a stiff pair of trail shoes, a squashier pair of cross country shoes and a very light pair of road running shoes. There are some walking boots that are 10 years old that I use if it is snowy and a pair of wellingtons for the garden . I have my furry lion slippers too. Wow 9 pairs! There are two pairs of ice skating boots from when I would take the kids to the ice rink but I don't count them as I haven't worn them in a long time and one pair are really my daughters. She seems to have shoes everywhere,no idea how many pairs. How many do you have ,are they all worn and what occasions do they get worn on?

1 pair warm slippers 1 pair leather slippers 1 pair walking boots 1 pair black lace up brogues 2 pairs brown shoes 1 pair black chelsea boots 1 pair wellingtons 1 pair feet to wear them. I obviously don't wear them all at the same time. That would be ridiculous. But they have their uses. The Boss had fewer shoes than I do and daughter could start a shoe shop. She's just discovered "Toms" shoes. American and quite expensive.

Toms are available in the UK and look like casual shoes to me. The link is here: www.tomsshoes.com/InternationalMap.aspx My daughter is at university in the US and is going to have an awful culture shock when she comes home in May! LOL.

I haven't heard of Toms shoes. We had a goth shop near us that had very nice but expensive shoes,my daughter was for ever looking in the window. Fortunately she outgrew the shop as she went off to uni and there wasn't one there. My mother in law liked shoes, she had quite large feet for a woman and if she found a shoe that fitted, she would buy several pairs in different colours

Its a bit of a culture shock even just looking at non UK blogs online. I read quite a lot of blogs from all over and you have to be prepared to look up lots of words and brands. It makes me quite envious when there are so many other ways to save in places like the USA.

Asics are popular here. My trainers are Mizuno for running and Karrimor for the trail shoes. Karrimor make cycling and camping equipment . Running shoes these days are much better than previously and have vents to stop too much sweat but are really light and strong too.

I have 10 pairs but I only wear 3 of them. Those are the sneaker, the sandals/slip-ons and the flip flops. The pumps and high heels are usually worn when I work and attend parties. Since I am home most of the time, those 3 are often picked.

I have never worn a pair of high heels. I think my feet are too wide. Mostly my mum put me off very pointed or dainty looking shoes. It wasn't anything she said but she had very distorted feet because she used to do ballet and her shoes would press on her feet constantly. Ballet shoes are lovely to look at but the feet inside are usually not so dainty. My shoes therefore are fairly plain and roomy. No pointed toes or tiptoe walking for me.

Hmmm. I have 2 shoes for office, 3 flats for going out, 1 pair of black sandals, and I think 4 pairs of slippers. Hehehe. I just love wearing slippers cause they are really comfortable. Though I admit that when I go to formal events, I don't really have a formal pair of shoes so I borrow from my sister. hehehehe. That formal pair of shoes have been on my things to buy list for the longest time but until now I still have not bought one.

Its strange how we ladies can have nothing for the one occasion isn't it ? I use my plain black shoes for formal but then I don't wear skirts or dresses, if I did, I would have to buy more shoes to wear as none of mine would look right.

I have 8 pairs which get worn quite often. 1) As it's winter, I need some big warm boots and for that I have a pair of Gore-Tex Viking shoes which are water and snowproof. 2) At school I war a pair of leather slip-on shoes. Very comfortable. 3&4) 2 different pairs of exercise shoes. One is Puma and one is NewBalance. 5) A pair of sandals, only wear them in summer. 6&7) Two pairs of classical men's shoes for going to concerts, parties and so on. One is German-made and the other is Russian-made. Polished very often :) 8) Last but not least, my Lotek Mike 2010 model BMX shoes. Really the best for biking and also very comfortable to just walk outside, even in the snow. I like shoes :D

Well yes, people do tell me I am either a shoe freak or I'm from a wealthy family where we spend money on all kinds of things like shoes. Actually that's not true. My mother usually buys them for me when she finds them on sales so she actually spends very little on footwear. And for some reason I don't wear slippers :D

Oh no - what have you started! I have a cupboard full of shoes - high heels, flatties, trainers, sandals, old shoes, new shoes, boots and wellies. And how many of them do I wear? I suppose about six pairs - my smart black shoes and my smart burgundy shoes for work; a pair of battered old trainers for walking; and a pair of wellies for wet weather and for gardening. Very occasionally I will put on a pair of high heels for an evening out and in the summer I will wear my favourite sandals.

We are throwing away a pair of my daughters today! She isn't here, she is at university but she wont go mad when she discovers they are gone because they have a huge hole in . She tends to leave her shoes where she last took them off so in the bin they must go. I did swipe the laces though.

I have about eight pairs, but usually I always wear the same three pairs. I have a running shoes which I make us for daily short errands or going for an hour walk. I have a brown and a black pair which I use for work. I found them more comfortable than their counterparts, which I only rarely use on special occasions.

One of my favourite pairs years ago were some black trainers that I got for running. I didn't run in them though ,instead I would cycle everywhere. They were so supple and comfortable, like wearing slippers out of doors.

I have four pairs of footwears. I like to have many footwears and keep changing them. I am planning to get another pair of leather chappals, next month. I have a pair of sandals, which I wear at home. I have two pair of formal chappals and another pair of casual chappal, which I can wear to office and outside. Oh, no. I also have another pair of shoes, which is very expensive and I only wear them to parties.

For me I don't take the shoes only the sandals because I have feet always watered so if I wear shoes it can make bad odor after all so I have 4 kinds of sandals to wear but it defends the occasion I attend.

Sweating you mean? The newer trainers have good aeration but even then I think you would need to take them off and let your feet rest . We have a thing called pit-rock which is a sort of deoderant. You can use it on your feet after washing them and they will still sweat but not smell.

My slippers are quite old, they are fake fur, made to look like lions heads. I have completely resoled them with leather from an old coat. They have had their eyes glued back on and been through the washing machine about once a year. They get sewn tighter every 6 months or so. Of course if I had worn them outside they would have been thrown away long ago but they are indoor only shoes so they have prevailed against all odds.

Currently, I have 5 pairs of footwear. 6 if you count slippers. I usually wear only 2 of them. One is for work, another when just casually going out. My other shoes are quite unique and they only go well with certain clothes.

That's good, enough pairs to have some for each outfit. I think sometimes people become a bit over interested in things like shoes . My outfits are fairly basic. My formal black shoes for 'sensible or serious' and nearly every thing else I wear is casual anyway and so trainers will do. I can see why females have more shoes usually because non of my shoes would look right with a dress or party clothes and then it would depend on style and colour too.

A lot of pairs then! I like that they all get worn even if you don't really need them all. I suppose in reality,we don't need shoes at all but I wouldn't want to walk around just barefooted all the time, stones are sharp.

Men seem to have a more practical outlook to shoes. I think also they wear less colours and so can manage to make less shoes look good with all their outfits. I don't often buy shoes, they are expensive and must last. Luckily I am finished growing so my feet stay the same size and a pair of shoes can be worn till they fall apart.

I must have 10 pairs of high heels that I must have each worn only once...you know how you buy them to go with a special dress that you bought for a special event and then the whole outfits goes to the back of the closet. I have recently thrown out my old sneakers and bought a new pair of nike's and I have two pairs of boots... one dress and one work/junk. both pairs of boots get worn a lot since the snowy weather demands it here. I have a lot of flip flops and I added a pair of those gator thing last year... I pick up the flip flops every fall discounted down to nothing from CVS. When they go clearance I can't help myself... I love to go to stores and try on shoes but I don't buy a lot because I will only buy shoes or clothing in general if it is clearance and seriously cheap.

I think your stores must do clearance sales a lot more than ours do. My daughter has a couple of pairs that were bought for 'posh dos' . One was for the queens garden party which she went to with my husband. I was invited but I don't do 'posh dos' and she jumped at the chance to go instead. It sounds grander than it is I think because the queen sits in a tent thing and people can go and stare at her eating her cakes . The other pair was for the prom at her school . Both of the outfits have only been worn the once and maybe never again but I think the shoes will see more use.

I have a few pairs but I mainly just wear the one. They are my most comfortable and the most applicable shoes I have. I don't usually dress up that often so its usually just good old sneakers for .e

I'm not sure if sneakers are the same as plimsolls or whether they are trainers. Lots of people here wear trainers. I think if schools allowed them, all children would go to school in them. They are much better than they used to be . When I was a teenager they were quite a new thing to wear for sports and the cheap ones were horrible stiff plastic with almost no cushioning.

Hi, pandaeyes. You do have many shoes, I can see! I only have two pairs. I have a new pair of white sneakers. I will wear these when it is time for me to go out. And, I have a pair of black clogs. I usually will wear these when I am at the store or when I am mopping. I also wear these to check the mailbox outside too. I really do need to get me some more shoes. In the past I had so many shoes that I did not know what to do with. I will get back to being that same way again pretty soon.

I like the idea of clogs. A man at my old work always wore them. His were black leather and quite noisy, you could always tell it was him coming down the corridor.

I don't buy shoes that much. I buy clothes more than shoes. Currently, I have 20 pairs of shoes. 8 of them are flip flops. I seldom wear my shoes that have high heels. I only wear these for special occasions. I usually wear flip flops daily because I do a lot of walking. They are more comfortable for walking.

Don't your flip flops rub on the skin in between your toes? Mine always used to and that's why I don't own any now. They are very convenient to just slip on for going out in.

I have 3 pairs of shoes only and I wear them all. It would really depend on what my mood is. The most preferable one for is the flat shoes that I could wear almost every single day. My feet are comfortable in them and it helps me to avoid being tripped off.

I wear flat shoes too. I like to be good and steady on my feet. I used to cycle all over the place and that is much easier in flat shoes too, especially if you have toe clips.

I have.... -2 pairs of chuck taylor (1 low cut, 1 high cut) -- i really love both of it!! -2 pairs of high heel sandals -3 pair of flat sandals (they are so comfortable to wear but I still prefer my sneakers. ahihihi) -3 pairs of flip flop (really compliment with my swimsuit...) -1 pair of rubber shoes. (for my workout day!) that's it.. it's all I have.. with a total of 10 footwear.

Oh rubber shoes are the kind you exercise in,I thought maybe they were like gators. Is that different to sneakers? I do rope jumping and that is possible bare foot but the rope really hurts if it hits you on your toes so I wear my plimsolls for that or sometimes my cross country trainers.
