If you were stranded on an island, there are 3 things that can help you survive, namely:
1. cups and plates, of course you not want thirst and dehydration, right? there is cups, you can take water on coast. you not need hold water in your hand. There are plate, so you're not hard find a container when you will eat.
2. flashlight, useful for illuminating you at night, and
3. mobile phone, very useful if you are bored trapped on the island, you can call home person/ your family to pick you ... or at least, you can use to order food from a restaurant that you like

hello friend,
It's fine if luckily i will be able to had those things prepared before i landed and got stranded on a secluded island.
But,what if,someone kidnapped me and leave me alone on that island..how could i bring those things(hehehe)
Ok...i guess we need to be back from the basic, learn to live in the jungle like primitives...nothing at all...just foods everywhere but no material things to use for cooking of catching fish.
At least there were fruits,so i can climb up the tree to have some.
No wild animals pls

yeah right! It depends upon how you got stranded. For me ok, I can survive w/o a cup or plate. hey there are banana leaves or coconuts around the jungle to use for drinking and eating. If we really talk of real survival, this is it. So about the flashlight, yeah it is really needed but what if I lost it or I wasn't able to bring it because of adrenaline rush especially if I got stranded because I was kidnapped or the boat sinks?LOL And even I bring match or lighter it might not be working anymore because they are wet. So then I am going to rub the woods then until there is fire. I wonder if I can do it, but I guess you become at your best when adversities come in your way! ^^

Very, very interesting choices of the things that you would want to have with you in able to survive on a deserted island. However, those wouldn't be the things that I would think of that I would need.
Here are the things that I think that I would need.
1. Flint (or something else that I would be able to start a fire with).
2. A pot for boiling water and cooking in. This would be necessary to ensure my survival as you must have clean water to drink.
3. A blanket so I wouldn't feel like I am freezing.

I hardly think you are stranded if your mobile phone has reception.
Cups and plates? Good grief, tell me you are kidding. These are the least of your worries...where will you get the food to put into them???
A torch might be useful but only for a short time of the day and you would hope that the batteries last.
Nope, for me, it would have to be a knife for cutting things to make tools or such so as to make a shelter and for finding food and preparing it to eat. A lighter for making a fire and adequate clothing for suitable protection. I would forgo the latter for fresh water if there was none available.

When stranded on a small island, what is the use of cups and plates if there is no ready supply of food and drink? What is the use of flashlights without batteries? Same for mobile phone. And if you can order food from a restaurant, I do not think that one is considered stranded! I certainly welcome the restaurant sending me my 3 meals.
I do not mean to challenge you, but i feel what one needs when stranded on a island, what one needs is only one thing - survival skills. The ability to look out for food and drinks and survive through the night while waiting for rescue.

Hey man!
Are you kidding? I think you're born in a aristocrat family and get things very easily. What made you think that those three things will be available if you get stranded on a deserted island? No way. You'll have to rely on natural objects. You can use large leaves as plates. You can use the shells of snails as cups to hold water. You'll have to light fire by rubbing together dry woods, no flashlight. You'll have to make a smoke signal to get attention of the passing water-vehicles. and you'll have rely on the fruits available on that island or you can catch fishes from the sea, let alone restaurant foods. How funny, isn't it? Think about it seriously.
Have a nice day.

The three things I would need are:
1.) A fishing pole and hooks.
2.) Some stick matches for making a fire.
3.) A sexy native WOMAN who's crazy at me!lol

But the cups won't help if the only water is salty sea water. The flashlight won't work once the batteries die, and the cell phone won't work if you're roaming and anyway, you can't charge it. So here's my answer: a source of fresh water, fruit trees, and something to make a spark for fire.

and we dont have an idea if how long are we gonna stranded in a small island. So having a food plate is useless and so phone, it wont be long you need to recharge the battery and you cant use it for ordering food in a restaurant while in an island lol..i better go with the deliver boy out from the island. Same with the flashlight..make sure we are bringing a thousands of battery for it lol..
So fo me the 3 very important things that make to survive in island is a match or lighter. a little knife for cutting something you can find on your exploring the island
and last is paper and pen lol.. to jot down all things that i will encountering lol.

Well, I find your choice of items quite weird. But perhaps you didn't mean the uninhabited island?
Anyway, if I was on one, I would like to have a knife with me. Useful for all kinds of handicraft and self-defense against animals, also for hunting. Another thing I would like to have would be a pair of durable shoes, so I would be able to walk on rough terrain without injuring my feet. The last thing would be matches or flint for lighting a fire.

I think that these three things you have chosen are not all that helpful. Apart from maybe the flashlight. I would perhaps include that.
One thing that I would have is knowledge on what plants are edible and what are not. Obviously having some prior knowledge of edible weeds and herbs and their medicinal uses also would be a great advantage, but if not, then a great detailed book on wild edibles would be an advantage.
A machete would also be of great use for cutting trees to make a shelter, cutting paths through the jungle to find more edible plants and for harvesting coconuts if you were deserted on a tropical island. You could live off coconuts alone!

Okay I am not sure how long you'd survive with yours LOL I mean what if the cell phone can't pick up a signal you need a local tower for that! and batteries for the flashlight....just thinking like I really would be stranded here..
Since I can only pick three-these are the three that I would pick instead:
1) a lighter (to get fires started-I'm terrible with the rubbing two sticks together method...
2) a knife-I'm going to need it for various things-including getting food, creating shelter and personal protection.
3.) and lastly-a first aid kit

hi
if i am alone on a island i will definitely prefer to choose the mobile phone if their is signal in that island or else i will choose the cups and plates . i dont think that their will be a signal in a island where we are alone . but we can use the cups and plates . water will be very important and thus we may definitely need it . we dont need a flash light so importantly since their will be a good moon light for most part of the month .

there are more essential things than that of number one and number three on your discussion. For me, firstly, I have to have food and water to survive from hunger. Secondly, I should have a knife to use for cutting woods or logs that I can use for fire, and lastly, flashlight or lighter.
In addition, I would like to let you know that not all islands do have signal and wifi so I wont be needing a mobile phone and the idea of food delivery is just so impossible.

If I have a cellphone then I would be rescued right away. I just hope that the batteries are not gonna get low. If I were stranded in an island I would need a 1. knife, useful for defense and and looking for food; 2. matches, so I can build fire and cook my food; 3. water, for drinking. Yeah! I think I can survive with that until the rescue team arrives and see me and take me home.

Well water is my first thing in my mind second will be a match/lighter and third would be knife .
First, i need water to survive when food is not available.
Second , i need a fire to keep me warm to i need a lighter/match to make a fire.I And fire is important to let somebody notice us for rescue, smokes can help people noticed a distance.
Third..i need knife to protect myself from any harm and knife to make things easy for me to manage especially if i need to work for food.
Those are the things i need to survive on a small island.
Happy Lotting!

Those three things are really the life saver, but when someone is trapped on a island they wouldn't be carrying all that stuff with them. No one leaves the house or go on a holiday thinking that they will be trapped on the island.
What I will suggest that use the nature to your expense. The people who can learn to use nature, are the ones who actually survive in the most extreme conditions.
