I HATE my picture being taken. It seems that I dont have many good ones. When I was younger and had no kids I loved it. Then you have children and nothing is where it should be anymore. I dont like to be taped or photographed. Reason being that It doesnt come out good.I always look like a dork! My photos remind me of stewie griffin of family guy. maybe even the father. How about you? Do you like to be photographed?

Im with you BING! I also really really hate when someone trys to take your picture without you knowing. I hate that! I have literally got into several arguments as I have caught people. I have erased pics on peoples cameras because Ive been so mad that took them without asking. I dont care. Next time they'll ask. dl

I also hate to have my picture taken. Being shy most of my life it is very difficult for me to pose or feel I look okay for a picture to be taken. No I am over weight, old and missing a tooth in the front of my mouth that I can't afford to get fixed yet so it is nearly traumatizing for me to have my pic taken. Also, I have social anxiety and that is never condusive to having your picture taken.

Having your photo is bad enough but when you're shy its traumatizing for you. Listen no one is perfect. I am not a thin girl either. I had a tooth issue as well. They have dentist who work with low income. Sometimes if you call the schools of dentistry they will use you as a teaching subject. I have seen it done before. They do a great job. If I were you I would contact the medicaid office in your area. I am a visiting nurse and I have had my patients do this and they were referred to a program that provides dentistry to those who cant afford it. Please dont let your insecurities hold you hostage. If you need to talk, please PM me and I will gladly share my stories and experiences with you. I hope we can be friends. dl

Hey, thanks alot for your kind and caring words. I would like your friendship very much. That would be nice. Thank you. As far as the dentistry thing goes I understand what you are saying but I have had a couple of traumatizing experiences with dentists and I just don't trust them in my mouth. That is the bottomline. When my teeth get bad enough i guess I will have do something.

well, once long time ago you did enjoyed in being photographed. the child in you is still there. Dloveli, its nice to have photos taken as time will show the changes in us, the maturity in us, then comes the wrinkles, the thinning of hair getting the salt and pepper look or the silver haired look, the heavy round the belly look, whatever. as years go by, out photos takes in the 'new' you. every year, take a few photos to show to your generations and generations to come or even to reflect how you have grown and prosper. it does not matter how the photos turned out. that photo is you, the original you that God designed and fashioned as original and unique when you come to this world and yelled at the top of your voice.well, i like to be photographed so that it reminds me of my toddler's years, my childhood years, my teenage years, schooling years, my graduation, my career years, my marriage years, raising my family years, my retirement years as the golden girl with my family, extended families, friends and ex colleagues. these photos not only show changes in us physically but also give us a glimpse of the hairstyles and fashion of the days gone by. there is a time and season in life for everything. capture them in photos. its so easy nowadays with camera handphones. just delete the photos you dont like and snap some more till you get a nice pic and pose that you adore.keep the ones you like. i am sure your family love to take photos of you.

Very well said Graceful! From reading your response it makes me want to photograph myself. It's not like I care about the weight gain. Let me re-phrase that. I do care about my weight gain but its not the reason I dont want to be photographed. Or at least not the main reason. I just hate the way I look. The camera seems to always capture the bad side. I think they're made that way. Really! dl

hie, just keep reminding yourself that is you and the camera has a way of capturing you that way. as you look long enough at your photos, you will grow to like your pics, that familiar look, pose and gestures which are truly you. remember you are like a 'grain of sand' out of million and million of sand perfected in God's way. your family and closed ones surely like your photos, right.

Well my friend,
Though my photo never pleases me, I don't hate getting photographed when required. There was a time my voice sounded very hoarse and I didn't like to hear that taped and replayed. Even I hated my own voice heard with my ears. But now, it's got better. I don't feel embarrassed seeing my photos as like before.
Have a great day.

I wish I felt like that. Unfortunately I hate it. Even when I was younger I didnt like it. I didnt even have my yearbook picture taken. I hate it. Its true though it would be better if I tolerated it when required. I am going to work on it. If you can do it, so can I. Thanks for giving me the idea my friend. dl

I am with you. I hate pictures of me. But I have come to accept it because I know the day will come when that will be all my children/grandchildren will have, so I try to tolerate it. I tell them "fine, just don't let me see it!" I think I look like a beached whale, a squirell with a mouth full of nuts, and a ruffled pottato chip with air pockets! But while I hate to have my picture taken I really dislike the people that will stick a pillow in front of their face, or make a really disgusting face (all the pictures of my dad are with a made up face!) Or they see you getting ready to take the picture then they bend down and hide!

Thank you for your compliment. My daughter was here yesterday and we went through photo albums, boxes of pictures, etc. looking for pictures of her grandparents on her dad's side...we could not find ANY! She was doing a school project with her daughter, it was a family tree and she wanted to put pictures on going back through the family. We spent hours looking for these pictures..we did finally find a couple that she could use. If anyone reads this I would encourage you to think of your future family coming up and please write WHO is in the pictures and the dates on the back of your pictures. I have family pictures from before I was born that I don't know who they are and I have NOONE that I can ask!

I like to spread the goodness around and let everybody and anybody have a good look at my beauty
But seriously, I am vain enough to be miffed if a bad photo is circulating but in general don't really care. My wife on the other hand HATES having her photo taken and will do anything to avoid it - I think it's a kind of vanity though, if you are that worried about how people see you...

Well far be it for me to hate on all the goodness you spread. lmao You are a humanitarian if nothing else my friend. Your wife should be thankful she has been given a photo of you and your beautiful self. Seriously it must be hard for you two to get a photo taken since she doesnt like it. I have one good photo from the right before xmas that I give out when necessary. My daughter made a good point what am I going to do in a few months when scarves arent necessary. HELP. Keep on spreading that goodness Livewyre. Happy MyLotting dl

funnily enough my wife has never asked for a photo of my beautiful self, and I just can't work out why that would be???
The only time you can get her in a photo is either by sleight of hand, dowright craftiness or if it is a family portrait so she can hide behind our daughter...

No, I really do not like being photographed. Even as a child I did not like it. I'm more the shutter bug. I like being behind the camera. My sons do not not having their pictures taken either. They will turn away if you try to take their pictures. My daughter does not really like hers taken either but she will let you take one.
She was a model and in pageants when she was younger and had her picture taken a lot.
I don't like the way I look in pictures, they never turn out right.

I can totally relate. Although my kids love to have their picture taken. My youngest daughter is a bit too photogenic. She documents everyday with at least one photograph. THen she puts them on the computer and does different little things to them. I must admit she is talented both infront of and behind the camera. I will leave the photos to them. dl

like you and many others, i too am one of many who is uncomfortable with having their picture taken for similar reasons as yours. i never ever look good in any of the pictures unless they're impromptu. then once in a blue moon, out comes a good picture of me.
it's also because i feel shy i guess. it's embarassing to me to watch myself on video or on a photograph. i tend to wonder what others think of me in the video or picture, and that i don't look good at all.
but there are some who enjoys having their pictures taken, one example being my younger sister. hehe since young, whenever my parents say to take a picture, she's already giving a pose of some sort or smiling at the camera. hehe that doesn't come to me as easily or as naturally. it would look fake if i tried. grins

A few generations of haters!lol Thanks for saying that I just like everyone else. I usually dont like to blend in but in this case its ok. My grandma told me that if I dont want my picture taken make sure I keep good diaries and write letters so that I can remember anything important in my life. I have literally about 20 Journals filled with memories. I even have a few pics in there Thanks again and Happy MyLotting. dl

I remember in High school I took photography and the assignment was to dress up and photograph ourselves as what we think could tell a story. I didnt even dress up. I just had no idea how to even express anything photographically. That says it all doesnt it. Thanks for letting me know Im not alone. dl

I'm not fond of my picture being taken, either. I always look fat, greasy and burnt. Not at all attractive, if you ask me. I don't like to smile because I have a gap between my front teeth. Since, my eyes hurt from the flash, I usually close them and look worse. So I try to avoid having my picture taken.

Girlfriend you've said it all! lol I wish I had thought of every word you used to describe having my photo taken. It always comes at the worst time. I hate when my man takes them because he wont erase them. He keeps all them. He's a donkey sometimes. That's okay cause when he's not home I go and erase a few here and there. I dont know what happened maybe he pushed the wrong button. How do I know? lmao I try to avoid photos at all costs. Happy MyLotting dl

I hate looking back when I was younger. Someone always has the worst profile of me in a photo. Why is it that the camera creates double chins when I never knew I had one? Cameras were created as a form of torture. I hate the whole photographic deal. I want no part of it. I am never captured in a positive light. dl

I hate having my picture taken. Always have. My dad was a pathological picture taker, so he took hundreds and hundreds of pictures of me. When I was little, I didn't have much of a say in it. I actually hammed it up for the photo. Then I hit my teen years, those awkward, ugly years. I had glasses and braces. What a curse! I dreaded the school picture day, and I did not allow my dad to take any pics of me. I love being behind the camera now though I still do not like having my picture taken. BTW, I think Stewie is adorable.

Thanks Katrinka for you kind words. Stewie may be adorable but I am a 40 year old mother of two. I dont think its really a good thing for me to resemble any of the griffin clan. lol I have felt the exact same ways about photos. Even before I had children and had gained weight I hated them. My family wasnt that big on photos but when the video camera came into play, forget it. I hated school picture day too. I think those little black plastic combs are jinxed. Happy MyLotting dl

Hey there friend! I think child hood innocense makes for a good picture. Now that Im not so innocent, pictures are awful. I hope you dont have to be pestered by people wanting to take your photos. You need to worry about feeling better. You dont need some one bothering you for photos until you feel better. I hope you feel better. remember that at least you are here to age. You can use this as a rememberance as to what you survived. Hang in there my friend. I hope you feel better soon. dl

I hate it because I always try to stay out of pictures. I'm going to get older and hate that I was never in any family pictures.

Pictures are over rated. I think that the film is made to purposely make certain people look bad. I think the film is cursed. Yeah that's it its cursed. Lol What I do is take one unwanted family photo. And make sure you your family knows how much you have sacrificed for them and their darn photos. lol Have a happy family photo. dl

Not that I really really love my photo taken but it serves as a memory of the past. I mean true that sometimes we have snapshots that were badly taken but it still is a part of who we were then.
I mean if you see a photo taken when you were in high school and you see the date on the right-hand side of the photo, all the memories of what happen that day rushes back to you... and then you laugh about it or you know, get misty-eyed.
Though I do love my photo taken when I'm all made up... it kind of makes me feel that I'm beautiful :)
