Do you find that some days your mind is more stimulated than other days? I know this is true for me. Why do you think it is this way? Do you know what kinds of things stimulate your mind? Can you control it? Some days I can listen to an audio book or read a book, and I'm just not in tune with what's going on. I figure, I'd rather do something else than waste my time "reading" when I'm not comprehending anything. Do you have these moments or days? Some days I can come up with tons of discussions, but other days I can't come up with a thing. I suppose it goes to show we should definitely take advantage of all those brainwaves on our "good" days when our minds are stimulated! What do you think?

That would be the ideal situation - to use 100% of our brains. I wish I could learn how. I'm sure there's stuff to read about it and exercises we can do to cause areas of our brains to function. That would be a really interesting study!

You're right - it really is hard to concentrate when your brain is tired, when you're stressed, etc.

I think that is good advice to take. I tend to be distracted lots of days. I joke that all of my life I have been ADD and no one ever figured it out. I put starting discussions on hold for awhile because I have some that need me to choose best responses. I find that if I travel somewhere I often come up with ideas for discussions so I try to have paper and pencil with me when I do. I guess it is that new experiences stimulate new thoughts.

I agree with you, Gerty. I, too, always have something handy to write on (or type) in case a discussion comes to me. If I have a new experience, like you, it stimulates. Sometimes I'll be listening to the radio or an audio book during the day, and an idea will just come to me. I love that! Other days, it's just not there. Thanks so much for your response!

It is believed that we experience a cycle of up and down in our intellect, physical, and emotional status. In case youhave not heard of it, it is called biorhythm. They have added the intuitive cycle. Even though they all started the moment we wereborn, they have different lengths. There are free software which casn be used to track biorhythm. In general I find it useful to know and understand what is happening to me on a daily basis. Having all four in the negative cycle means that everything that I do seems wrong, and I need to put in more effort to carry out a task.

Thank you so much for putting an official word to this discussion - BIORHYTHM. I am going to have to look into this more and do some research. This is extremely interesting! Thank you so much for sharing, friend.

There are definitely days when my mind is more stimulated on select days. I find that these days are the ones when I have had something drastic happen to me in a day like a certain experience, be it good or bad. Sometimes when you're happy the ideas flow in but when you're in a bad mood then it can also be a good day to just keep releasing stuff on your mind. For me it affects the content in terms of the kind of direction or mood it takes. I also had days wherein you have a lot of information coming in but your mind kind of goes on auto-pilot. Not really not comprehending anything but it's like you're just storing stuff in your head that you might use in the future. I think it's important to take advantage of those moments as it's always rewarding for me to let the stuff in my head out so to speak. My head just feels lighter afterwards

Wow, very well said! I completely know where you're coming from. I feel better, too, when I let the ideas out of my head before it explodes! I also have those "auto pilot" days, like you said, where there are no memorable thought processes going on. I agree with you that it's best to take advantage when we're having those stimulating days. I find that personal experience work the best for discussions and for stimulating the minds in general, whether in a bad or good mood. Thanks!
