Well, economy is not recovering that fast, not like what they said in the radio, and news. I still feel the recession is still going on, and many people still worrying about bringing in bread to the table. In the meantime, I would very much like to increase my personal worth, simple because I don't think I would stay on my job for too long. I definitely need a skill to better me off. About the financial aid, that is the biggest obstacle I am facing now. I either have to spend a lot of money, or I can get some help from the government. What is your suggestion?

I think acquiring skills is good but need a lot of time & money to spend. We have to be practical now a days & make sound decision in life, to invest in more sound business or skills.Going to school again maybe a waste of time try to concentrate on your skills but if you have not acquire it then you have no choice but to go ahead and make some help in the authority to make scholarship in your study.

I think that persuing your degree or concentration is remarkable, and I can say because I am doing the same thing, just make sure that whatever you decide to pursue that it is worth the time and the money that you are spending and that the field is a lucrative field to where you can get ahead in your current job or find a better career

Its a good idea to go back to school and learn a new skill. These days, I think formal education is not enough to get a good job. There are so many jobs in the world right now that has something to do with skills and nothing to do with your four-yeart course or major. The cost of living these days are getting higher and higher and to be able to put more money in our wallets, we need to learn skills like baking, sewing, etc because they are in demand in some areas.

I do agree with you, now in this economy employers want to hire someone that has a marketable skill that they can use to help their company grow and succeed, and having an educational background in something can make you that maketable person.

You might be able to get aid. I know a lot of people are eligible, so you should definitely look into it. Also you should look into the current job market and the prospects for this job in the future, so you can decide if it's worth the time and money. And good luck to you, whatever you decide.

There is no problem with going back to school for acquiring some new skills to better up. If you are able to afford it in this recession time without counting maximum financial risk, then its alright. Since, when you have got some new skills pertaining to your current ones, you will definitely get a more nice job with an increase in your pay grade which is always an option later!!

hi kingparker,
uhmm... I think going to back to school is a great option if you have enough money to support both your needs in school and home. I've been longing to enter a fashion and arts school here in our main city but due to my job, time and money (to support my schooling) I chose to set it aside. Then lately, I want to learn web designs/IT so I checked it on our company's scholarship program but then again it (our admin) says that, the courses I must take should be inline with our company's business (banking/finance/management) which I don't want to spend my time again. Haha! so yes, I'm waiting for the right time.
Have you checked on your locality if there is a scholarship program that you can try? I think that is a great option to take.

Oh yeah, definitely. I want to see if there is a scholarship program, or a financial aide program I can sign up, so I can get my dream fulfilled. I just tired of working like an animal while I am making so little, and people taking advantage of me.

Aquiring a new skill can always be useful, but you also need to consider if it is something you want to work with in the future or if you believe there is job oportunities in that area.

Don't let money be the reason you don't go back to school. I am planning on going back to Adult School myself and getting some computer classes. There are many schools that will help in financial aid for students and you can even look into getting a grant. Talk to the school you are interested in and see what they have to offer. The more skills you have the better chances you have of getting a good paying job. And with this economy it is had to get a job. Do whatever you have to do to get into school. If this is what you want go for it and even if it takes a little longer don't give up. In the end it will pay off for you. Wish you success in going back to school. I hope everything works out for you.

Try to take some scholarship to be enrolled in some skills training you are right we should maximize our self worth in order to bring food to our table aside from the income that we have we should also have an extraa income to be used for emergency purposes. We should not be contented of the present but we should do something to maximize our talents.

I am wondering am I able to get a job that I want after I graduated. It seems like everyone is talking about their income is not enough to cover the increasing cost of living..the economy will become better after I graduated? It is great that you willing to learn and acquire a skill. But you need to plan wisely when you choose to go back to school, because you going to lose your source of income and you have to make sure you won't finish all you money while you are on half way of your study. If you are considering of acquiring a skill for a job, why don't you try apply some job or company that will offer you a training program? I think that will be ideal, you get to learn something while you are working..
Hope you get to solve your problem soon.
