As you can see from news report, Chile, a south america country was rocked by earthquake, followed by the Haiti incident. Also, on the pacific ocean, tsunami is threatening those island countries too. Especially Hawaii, many coastal residents have to evacuated the local area. Like the movie 2012, are we toward the end? I hope not, that is the best prayer we have for everyone.

I was just talking to my Mom this morning and we were both saying it seems like the world is coming to an end. There was also an earthquake in Japan, a 7.3 on the Richter Scale that happened this morning. With now threatening tsunamis from Hawaii to New Zealand. It is really unbelievable what is happening all around the world and a bit unnerving.

Like xfachtor said below, it has always been here, it's just that now we hear about it thanks to the internet. It's not the end of the world.

Very true, But why Haiti first? Is America next? I hope not, because then we have to rely on Europe and Asia for support.

I don't think these recent natural disasters are a sign of the end times. I think there have always been these types of natural disasters, but today with the speed of the internet we hear about them a lot more.

The Bible tells that those are signs that the end of the world is imminent.

Many say we are toward the end, but you have to remember the end of the world has been guessed many times over. 1999, 2000, 2001, and on and on. In fact, they were trying to guess the end of the world back when my mom was a child and she's 58 now. People use the end of the world often to start a rise, to scare people. Most people enjoy it, others seem to panic about it. The truth is, no one knows if the world will end, and if so when. We know that wars and rumors of wars is the start of it, and then the signs will come. However, there is a lot more to it than that. There's also quite the controversy regarding how the world will be plunged into a great terror following the Rapture, and some even speculate the Rapture may not even exist. Then again, how would they know when it hasn't occurred yet? I mean people once believed the world was flat right? It is sad these natural disasters are happening everywhere, but on a Christian's perspective, I think it may be a warning for us to wake up, help each other, and pray more often so that God can be near us. I also think it teaches us to have compassion on strangers, a great teacher indeed.

Well I certainly do not hope that we are going to that. I was actually expecting this kinds of topics would sprout out again since the Haiti incident there has been a lot of topics such as this sprouting here and there and again since the earthquake was really strong it cannot be avoided to think that there is something major going on around. I would say that things will wear down as these incidents passed away in time. I do hope that the end is not near at all and we can have a much more longer and happier lives ahead. I know that this happens every now and then and we have always recover from these tragedies.

Natural desasters have always happened and will go on happening. Since that movie people is overreacting a little, but I'm here in Japan, we were hit by the tsunami and I'm still alive, so don't worry too much. Natural disasters happen, and the human being is going on. Is so sad that there are always victims, but that doesn't mean that the world is ending.

I know there is a lot that has gone on, including the states having one of the worst winters its had in 20 years, but I'm not concerned about them. I doubt the world is going to end, and if it does like all things eventually do we won't know it. As for right now we have to deal with what's going on around us and take it one step at a time. Worrying about what may, or may not happen won't help any of us in the long run reall y.

Um, no. The reason natural disasters seem more frequent and more destructive is two fold. First technology keeps advancing that we are able to find such things, we know about more quacks in the middle of the ocean for example, 50 years ago we were completely ignorant of such facts. Once we learn about such things we can now warn people who may be effected, the warning makes things sound worse. As for why the seem more destructive is simply we are populating more and more regions, we have more people and more places to be destroyed by such disasters. It's no proof that the world is ending in a few years or even now, it is just the tragic nature of the world and an expanding world population.

I hope and I pray that this is not yet the end. I live in the Philippines and we are also on alert level 2 for possible tsunami. In times like this, let us not forget about God. Let us pray and prepare ourselves for whatever might will happen. I personally believe that all these disasters are connected in some way to global warming which we humans caused. Help us reduce global warming. Read this article for infos on how to reduce global warming. -- http://quazen.com/kids-and-teens/school-time/things-we-can-do-to-stop-global-warming/

I would hate to think its gonna be a massive earthquake that does the world in. God's promise was to protect his children so why would he do something that is gonna to kill us all and hurt so many of his children. I dont think its the end of the world and if it is may god help us..

The worlds not going to end only man kind j/k.....we hear about all of these and make a big deal b/c many people think 2012 is going to be the end. I dont think so because we always have disasters like New Orleans but we never thought it the beginning of the end. Last year i remember not even having a winter it snow like 2 days and that was all. The World will end when man ends it.
