Do you work because you want the money, because you want something to do with yourself, to feel productive... ? Just curious what gets you into work everyday. I'm a stay at home mom and although I don't go to work, I work hard every day because: 1) I'm needed 2) I love my family 3) I want to be a productive person. How about you?

I work because I have to. I need the cash to pay the bills and to help pay for the stuff I want Although I don't particularly enjoy working, I know that if I didn't, I would get bored really quickly.

Work is important.. besides paying for the bills and providing for the family, I think that it keeps one's mind healthy too. That's because when we work, our minds are active and it's like exercising too..

I think everybody's work to earn, to provide for the family, to be responsible. I am also a stay at home mom, my husband is the one who provide everything for us, I also wants to help, but he don't allow me to work cos our son needs more attention. happy lotting

Is your son okay? My son also needs additional attention due to health problems. I used to feel more like you and wished I could work, but now I'm very happy being a SAHM. I hope that you find that same satisfaction either in a job or where you are at home with your son.

Different people will answer this differently, depending on the kind of work they do and how they feel about it. In my case, I go to work in order to get paid, in order to pay for the things I need. I wish I had a job that was fulfilling for its own sake.

Yes I wish that everyone could find fulfillment in their work. I think some personality types do find fulfillment in doing a job well, but some jobs make it hard to find satisfaction.

I go to work for my self fulfillment. Of course it is a given that I work for the money to help cover the bills and all. Though even if my husband told me to stop working and that he's take care of everything, I would have to decline. I do not like the thought that I would have to ask for money all the time if I were going out or if I needed to buy something. Not only would I feel stagnant, I would feel worthless. At least if I worked and earned my money, I know deep down Ican help, no matter how small the amount of help I can give...

First off, I want to say you are one lucky woman to get to be a stay at home mom. I know keeping a house going can be a very hard job, unfortunately, I have to keep the house going and work full time. I am a single mother, so honestly, every day I wake up and MAKE myself go to work, I do it for my kids. I do it to provide a roof over their head, health insurance for them, electricity, food, water, all their needs and wants. If it wasn't for my kids, honestly, I would have a reason to even get out of bed in the morning. I know things are stressful and hard for me right now, but I also know that it isn't always going to be this way and I want to enjoy every minute I have with my kids while they are still young.

Hmmm. Well, the main reason is that I need to earn money. Cause if I really don't need it then I would just stay at home and enjoy myself and just surf the net all day, or just read some books. Maybe, if I get the chance to do the things that I like in an office, then maybe I would go to work, because I love what I do, and not only because I need to earn money.

Yep, I get bored really quickly, that's why I like the kind of work where I would not even realize how time have passed. Hehehe.

I have to work for my living. I admire you can work at home which is my dream. But now I must save money with my husband, because we haven't our house. If I have enough money, I don't want to work in any company. I hope it comes true early. Good luck!

I hope so too. I wish you luck as you save for your home. I used to work as well, in fact my husband and I met while working for the same institution, so there are some benefits to work besides the obvious ones.

I've got two reasons for going out to work. First and foremost, to make a living. As we are living in this world, we need to work to support ourselves. Second, to realise personal value. I went to college years ago and i want to do what i'm interested in.

Well, I do work simply because I want to earn a living. The bottom line is for survival considering If we do not work, naturally we will not earn to buy our basic needs as well as to give us comfort. I am doing this not only for myself but for family as well.

Right now, I can say that the reasons I am working is to be productive and to gain self improvement. I am a stay at home mom as well, I used to have a regular paying home-based job but due to the recession, my employer can no longer maintain her business. At present, I still do my best to get projects even if just once in a while. Then again, money also matters, it is part of why I work because even if my husband can provide well enough for our family's needs, I still want to help.

I am often very envious of people like you who can both stay at home with their family and also contribute to the finances. It is very hard to find work that allows you to do this, and also very hard to budget your time. I'm very impressed.

I go to work for all the reasons that you have mentioned. I wanted to have money so I can help my family and at the same time sustain my own needs without asking cash to my parents. I also find it fulfilling that I am useful to the company and able to n a way have my own niche.

Main reason for me to work is to earn living for me and my family. Second reason is getting professional satisfaction and third reason is an earnest desire to contribute to the development of my nation by my productivity.
