Hi dear mylotters..let say you are in a public area or public transportation which doesn't allow people to smoking. suddenly someone coming next to you and without feeling guilty he/she smoke in front of you. of course you'll get bother, not just because of the smoke, but you see anykind of people around there. elderly, children, and you sure they have the same feeling with you but they don't tell. what would you do? would you like to tell him/her politely not to smoke at that area, or you just ignore it and leave that place?

i would asks the person politely that it's not a smoking area.
And that,at least he/she should be considerate to other people around.
There is nothing wrong to tell other people that they are doing wrong...just tell it a good manner not to offend them.

I'm quite a passive person.
I won't go straight to tell him but I will look at him to show my frustration.
Probably covering my nose with my hands lol

i always cough a lot and get sick from inhaling the smoke from smokers... so i will definitely say something to the person if he/she starts to smoke in front of me especially in the places where he/she not supposed to be smoking... i wouldn't hesitate to do that especially when i know that i am doing the right thing and i am protecting my health as well... i might even go as far as telling the driver to escort him/her out from the bus/train if he/she does it in the public transport... if he/she is not happy about it and start an argument, i will call the police... as simple as that... take care and have a nice day...

you should tell him/her that the smoke is bothering you. Most smokers would not have a problem with moving away a bit so as not to offend others. If he does have a problem with it then you should speak to someone that works there. It is actually illegal to smoke in most places like that these days.

I just ignore it Emediloy. sometimes it worthless to tell them cause some people just thinking about them self. They do not worry about other health. So leave it while looking him with full hate face is the best way for me to tell my dislike

in that case as long as theres a sign that the area is a none smoking area then i will tell that person that the place indeed is a none smoking area and i will show him the sign. but if theres no sign then maybe i will just ignore him since i dont have proof that its none smoking area.

I'd probably just say something like 'excuse me, but you're not supposed to smoke here' and then see what the reaction was from the smoker. I hate confrontation so I would just be as polite as possible about it.

I am quiet a straight forward person and I would surely tell the person not to smoke and would make it a point to say it quiet loudly that he feels ashamed. Infact I would go to the extent of asking him if he is aware that smoking is not allowed in public area and transport.
I myself get affected by smoking and start coughing non stop because of the smoke. My hubby makes it a point to smoke outside the house and even makes all his friends smoke out.

Yes. I meet this occasion frequently. For example, on the bus or on the train where smoking is not allowed. Sometimes someone will break the rule and start smoking. It seems that everyone around doesn't has the initiative to stop it. They are all waiting for the attendants or the train conductor to do something.
