Does it matter if our society is becoming more unequal?

diversity is inevitable, and have you ever known society to be equal with in or to any other?

I don't think there has been a society that has had equal opportunity and I personally think there never will based on how human nature is. Even if a major disaster greatly affected us all, I think it would only be a matter of time before the scales of balance will start tipping in the favor of someone for whatever reason it may be.
