Hahaha while reading the UrbanDictionary, I stumbled upon the word "afterclap". ;) According to the site, an afterclapper is the last person who keeps clapping after everyone else has stopped.
Normally they are parents or a die-hard fan lol ;)
I tried "afterclapping" once when a close friend was performing on stage. ;) Sometimes I can't help the emotions when a friend is performing that's why I tend to afterclap. Hehe
So are you an afterclapper? ;)

Is there a beforeclapper? Because I might be more of that than an afterclapper, hehe :) I clap when I really want to show appreciate of a job well done. I sometimes clap until everyone else stops, or before everyone else starts. I don't just join the crowd. Hehe. :)

Hey friend,
You've got an interesting topic to discuss. I've never thought it out before. Well, I'm always spontaneous in expressing my feelings. That's why I tend to react after a great performance indifferent of friend or foe. But I've got a controlled emotional state. So, I've never exceeded the limit of my feelings to afterclap. I think it's not necessary.
Have a nice day.

Dear Mylotter,
You can after-clap in both ways. First, as a discreet viewer and second, as a critic. An amazed viewer afterclaps enjoying the whole performance while the critic afterclaps reviewing it. Both of them have to concentrates before afterclapping.
Thanks a lot for commenting.

I find that sometimes I am busy talking and don't clap until I am done and then I am afterclapping. But I do get excited also and don't start until the rest of the crowd is nearly through clapping. Yes, I am a afterclapper.

Hello yes afterclapper is a new word, but it can't be seen in the dictionary because the word was just invented by someone and then it became a fad. :)) Try reading Urban dictionary dot com for other funny terms such as 'stress-to-impress' w/c means acting lng stressed out just to impress the boss :p hahahahah

Nope because I'm always afraid that'll happen to me so I've become a silent clapper meaning that I make the motions but don't actually hit my palms together so if that does happen to me no one will ever know about it except maybe the person sitting next to me wondering "what the heck is wrong with this lady?"

Hi cecille,
No, I'm not an afterclapper ;) I usually am a "go with the flow -er" hahaha. I clap alongside everyone else, but stops when everybody stops. I don't want to be caught afterclapping, especially if I'm the only one, some people get irritated with it. Also, to let the next performer or act have a chance to perform without the sounds of the afterclappers of the previous performance. ;)

hehe, i have the same idea as your thought, i would be a clap follower rather than a afterclapper or beforeclapper, i remember that i was put in a quandary severl years ago, in a speech, listen to the leader, he made a pause in his talking, and then i frist to clap, oh, no, no one clapping, and attract all the attention, how embarrassing i was!

most of my classmates including me who are enjoying the songs are all the afterclapers when our classmates who took part in the singing competition are performing on stage.and my little nephew just has learnt to speak.so my aunt is often to act as an afterclaper for his son's progress.haha, this topic is interesting to me.thank you

I usually stop before everybody else does. Hehehe. I think it's quite embarrassing to be the last person who is still clapping, specially if there's more to the performance, or somebody is trying to speak but cannot start because somebody is still clapping. Heheheh.

I don't believe that I am typically an afterclapper. There are some times that I am the last person clapping, but it is usually when my daughter is performing or doing something and I am very proud of her. I am her mother and I have every right in the world to be the last person that is cheering her on. Even then, I will only clap once or twice after all of the other people have stopped clapping because I feel like clapping too much can be disturbing to the people that are performing or to the game that they are involved in.

No, I would not consider myself to be an "afterclapper". I am usually one of the first to stop because I either get bored of clapping or the clap itself is starting to die down

Hahaha I agree it can be tiring to clap sometimes especially when it becomes "automatic". ;D

I do not clap that much and im even tired of clapping myself. When they tell us to clap our hands for the performance of those at the front during programs, I feel forced but join the clapping still and it was funny. But yes they do exist in our college before. Those guys are of the cheerful type as if they do not have problems in their lives.

Hahahaha me too especially if I'm a die-hard fan. Probably I won't do that if I'm already a parent haha. I might be accused as a stagemom haha. :D

As much as possible, I try not to clap unless I feel the performer really deserves it. If the performance really blew me away then I'll clap while standing up for a good period of time even after people have stopped. When people look at me to clap though I just make the motion to clap but don't really finish or i just clap soundlessly

Yes I Would say that I am an afterclapper, sometimes even a beforeclapper! It's kind of embarrassing to be the last one clapping but at the same time the person your clapping for gets to see you still clapping and happily smiling!

LOL! I’ve never heard of an ‘afterclapper’! I don’t think I am one because if anything I tend to stop clapping before others have finished. Have you ever heard of ‘beforeclappers’,is there such a thing? You know, the one person who starts clapping before everybody else...Nope I’m not one of those either! You could say that I just go with the flow...

only when its a friend or something...sometimes I don't pay attention so when I hear everyone else clapping I start as well then everyone stops and I still go on with an indifferent look on my face xD

Hello
I consider myself a afterclapper/beforeclapper lol depends on the situation its always cool to be the first to start clapping then hear everyone else join in, I love when that happens, but yes if what I see is worthy oh yeah i will clap till my hands hurt for sure
