I am hoping to connect with others who are cooks or culinary workers in Alaska or those who have an interest in Alaskan cooking or cuisine. I am an executive chef in Alaska and hope to chat and share with others who share my passion. Respond with recipes, interests, questions or whatever theakman

Alaska is going to be my next travel experience. I'm a chef in Florida, and experiment with many different types of cuisine. Some of my favorites come from the Pacific Northwest, and Alaska. I would love to chat. I'm always looking for inspiration. I also hunt and fish. I've been perfecting my wild game repertoire. To date, I've been on a tropical/southern kick. Growing my own vegetables and herbs. I'm dialing in a great Florida dining experience. I find it's best to cater to the foods indigenous to your geographic area. Love & Luck.

Thanks for the response. I certainly suggest to everyone a trip to Alaska. It is not a place for everyone but those who really appreciate it, it is home. We all have our local fare - yours and mine seem to be seafood. I am assuming that you also have an abundance of seafood at your disposal. I love cooking with seafood more than anything else. What sort of place are you in?

Absolutely! Seafood reigns supreme in my opinion. Don't get me wrong. I'm not disrespecting land fare. I've always gravitated towards the water. I'm also a snob when it comes to selection. One nice thing about Florida is I get to take advantage of lobster and scallop seasons. There's nothing better than going on a fishing trip and using the day's catch to make a quick ceviche on board. That's my version of heaven. I live on the Gulf coast of FL. I just moved from the Atlantic side a month or so ago. I was involved in a couple of small restaurant openings over there. One was a raw bar, the other an eclectic Baja grill & pizza joint. Sounds strange, but it worked. At the moment I'm doing catering gigs. I'm finishing my M.A. so I don't have time to jump into a restaurant full time. Happy mylotting!
