We have turkey as our Christmas meal and we also have it for Easter Day but never even give it a thought to have it at any other time of the year. I dont know why as it is just as easy to cook as other meats, although admitedly a bit longer to cook. I think we just look on Turkey as a really special meal. How do you feel about it?

We have turkey for Thanksgiving, pork for christmas and either ham or chicken for Easter depending on what kind mood we are in and what side dishes I will make.

That's neat that you have something different for each holiday! We always have turkey at Thanksgiving and Christmas! BUT we have roasts, ham, chicken, steak, pork, and seafood all year round!

I had never really thought about it before, but now that you mention it Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only 2 days out of the whole year that we have turkey with all the fixings! The part I always get the most excited about is the stuffing though! LOVE stuffing!

Turkey in my house is usually on Thanksgiving but last year I did cook one for Christmas because my parents had an extra turkey they had no use for. Easter and Christmas it is usually some ham, lamb or a roast beef depending on who is doing the cooking.

We just have turkey on Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, along with a ham. O course, we have the slices for sandwiches all year since turkey is a healthy bird to eat. I don't know why we do that except that it's tradition, and we HAVE to do something different. And also I guess, unless you have a crowd, what would you do with that big beautiful tasty brown turkey?

We have turkey for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners but no other time of the year. This is perfectly good with my husband as he does not care for poultry of any kind. I don't know that turkey is any more special than any other meal meat; I just think the time to prepare it and the amount you end up with is more than I typically want to deal with. But some turkey and dressing right about now sure would be good. LOL

Our supermarket only has whole turkey's for sale at christmas. We do buy turkey meat because it is very low in fat and is often cheaper than chicken meat too.
