there's no way I'll even try doing this. :D I'm lucky to have a brother and a boyfriend and some close friends that can do this for me. So if there are any problems with my computer I never worry about it, just tell them what's wrong and ask them to repair it.

I also repair it my self. I clean it and maintain it and i only had to reinstall windows once in 5 years. Recently i also replaced the old cpu fan because it was making to much noise. If anything isn't ok i become frustrated and work on problem until i fix it. Sometimes it takes me hours to solve one small problem but at least i don't have to pay for service.

I definitely can. I use to do it as a part-time job for myself. I am primarily self taught.

It depends on the software or hardware that is damaged, if the speakers, a mouse, keyboard or any program itself can be repaired without having to call someone. To the inside of the computer I think should replace some equipment with the new.

I will do everything possible to repair my laptop if something goes wrong with it. However, if its something I know I can't fix and I've done all the basic trouble shooting I can then I'll ask for help. But, if I don't have to ask for help then I'm much happier.

If the problem is not that serious, I usually will fix it by myself. I will open the case and unplug everything, clean it, check some circuit with meter and than plug it back. Usually it works

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. I am in the IT line, so, naturally I am familiar with all these computer hardware and software stuff. Actually, come to think of it, it really is not difficult to fix compuetr problems. There are tons of books written on this topic matter, and the Internet, which is such a huge warehouse of knowledge, has all the answers to any computer problems ever encountered.

Dear xxlost, If the damage occurred on my Computer Hardware, I can't repair by myself. But, if the damage occurs to the software, I was able to fix it.

Yes I always try to repair my computer myself, of course I want to use what I learn from school and experience is the best teacher so I learn a lot from doing things myself. There are times that I mess up as well, but thank God I have a very smart fiance, he never finished school but he is a lot smarter than a person that graduated even in a graduate school. he learned everything on his own, self-taught. Experience is very good specially to those who are afraid to make mistakes. I love messing up with my computer.

I always try to fix any computer issues I have myself. For me, it seems worth the time to attempt to fix the issue. If I am successful, then I know how to fix the issue should it arise again. Generally I can fix it (thanks forums), but sometimes it is beyond my abilities. It is always wise to know your limits though. Some things need a professional, but if you can avoid needing using one, I would.
