This morning, I woke up to my husband throwing up in the trash can. I started to worry right then and there. He was fine before I went to bed. I went to bed after 1 a.m. and he was up watching a movie. He told me that he was fine from the time that he ate his pizza. So, he was feeling so bad and I told him that he may have to go to the hospital. So, he had me called the ambulance to pick him up because he was to weak to drive. He told me that he needed to be laying down and not sitting up. He went to the hospital around 10 this morning and he got back here around 3:55 p.m. I was so worried. I remember as he was moaning and groaning I was praying to God. I told him to please heal my husband and make him feel so much better. I told God to take away all of the pain that he is feeling. And then after I stopped praying, my husband was quiet. I think that he went to sleep. Then I also drifted off into a deep sleep. And when I woke back up, he still was sick and throwing up. Now, he is back at home with us and he is laying down. He has to wait for the pharmacy to prepare his medicine. I am so worried and scared. I don't like when my husband gets sick. Not even my kids. My son had a stomach virus, two weeks ago and he had to stay from school for one day. His lasted just two days. His was not as severe and his father's. My husband brought back home his diagnosis report and he has, Acute Gastroenteritis. I just hope that he feels better very soon because I love him and I don't like to see him this way.

Thank you. This is like a shock to me because my husband hardly gets sick this badly. He did went to the hospital last year for his arm. And he could not move it and he was in extreme pain. I had to assist him as much as he needed me too. I am praying that he will feel much better very soon.

Hi, tamaraheart. I agree. I think that is what has irritated his stomach, this pizza and other junk foods that he has been eating lately. I do hope that he will feel better really soon. He has not thrown up since he got back home which is a good thing.

That's something a real cause of concern. Acute Gastroenteritis! Tell him to take care. He needs to take regular medicines besides a very controlled diet what I think. I hope he will be cured.

Don't worry cream97.Prayers can achieve wonders. He has been given medicine and as soon as the throwing up reduces see that he has plenty of fluids. If you do not have rehydrating powder like Electral, just take a litre of boiled water, add one teaspoon of salt and one spoon of sugar and let him drink this every now and then. After the stomach upset settles down a bit, give him light food thta is very soft on the stomach.Just some nourishing soup etc etc and see thta he has other fluids also.Give food thta is easy to digest .

I'll keep your husband in my prayers as well as you. I hope he starts feeling better soon. I know how you feel, I don't like when my husband gets sick like that, there's nothing I can do to make it better for him, I wished I could take it all away. There is a bug going around, I know we had it a few months ago. You take care...

I'm sorry to hear that your husband is sick. I hope he is well soon.
My husband goes into panick mode when anything happens to me. If I am sick or anything he panicks. SO most of the time I don't let him know or try not to.
I also had some kind of virus a couple of weeks ago...boy was I so sick.
Hopefully your husband will be well in a day or two.

Hi cream.. I hope your husband gets well soon. Food poisoning can be a real worry. I suffered from it a couple of times. I still remember the severe nausea and vomiting. I couldn't sleep and I was groaning the entire night. I lost count the number of times I ran to the bathroom. Oh, and I forgot to mention that besides throwing up, I also suffered from severe diarrhea. All because of a certain food that I bought at the supermarket.
My husband also had his own share of food poisoning. It happened while we were on our honeymoon (great timing!)We had our breakfast and after several hours, he started to feel nauseated.
Our plans for the day were ruined because he felt so horrible and didn't have the energy to do anything but to lie down. I was about to take him to the hospital when he suddenly ran to the bathroom and threw up.
After that, he started to feel much better and the nausea lessened. By early evening, he was himself again. We later realized that there must be something wrong with what he ate during breakfast.

I hope your dear hubby feels better soon. I just looked up what Gastroenteritis is, and it looks like your hubby will be fine in a few days. Do you know if it is bacterial or a virus? If it is viral then he can be contagious. At least that is what the internet told me.
He is so very lucky to have someone who cares for him so much. Do not worry dear friend, God will take care of everything. Try and get some rest yourself and be at peace.

I will be Praying for him as well, and hope he starts to feel better soon. It is hard to see others sick, especially someone who is close to us, and it can be a hard thing to go thru. I know personally with all of my medical problems myself I see the look on my husband and how it worries him, but I continue to always remember no matter what we go thru God is in control. Keep believing and something Great is going to come from all of this.

Hi cream
I do hope your husband must be feeling better now. Please don’t worry and take nice care of him so that he can recover soon. All ladies are like you dear, they won’t bother their own illness but when any of the family member become sick then it will be very difficult for them and keep on worrying. It is the sign of love and care. Your prayers will definitely work for him and he will recover soon. Wishing him, a speedy recovery.

hi cream97 oh my acute gastroenteritis, with me it was from Norfolk virus when I was not throwing up I was having diarrhea and it lasted about a week, here at Gold Crest, they brought trays up to me with dry toast, applesauce, and apple juice. well I was so dehyrated from throwingup as I am diabetic too, that the apple juice tasted good to me,,I usually dislike apple juice in the worst way. this for adults is
harder on us than on the kids. I got over it and my roommate got it so it is contagious. Now she is in the hospital on a totally unrelated illness.I know how helpless you feel when your husband or child is ill, you love them so much and you cannot do anything to help them. at least the doctor gave him a prescription. I just had to tough it out here. But do not be so scared, it makes you feel horrible but you do not die from it, it runs its course and he will be fine again.good luck and God bless.I know I do not risk offending you with my God Bless as you are a Christian too.

I am so sorry to hear that your husband isn't well. It also really bothers me when my husband isn't well. Last Sunday I had to rush my husband to the emergency room because he started having intense abdominal and back pain. It ended up that he had a 6 mm obstructive kidney stone. They ended up doing emergency surgey the following day to bust it up. He is still recovering now, but he is a lot better than he was this time last week.

Hi cream
Do not get panic. Gastroenteritis can be cured. Nothing to worry. My FL also suffered with acute gastroenteritis and was admitted in the hospital as an in-patient and medicines were administered and cured and discharged. The patient will have severe loose motions and severe vomittings but the doctors will control everything and you will be happy to see your husband back in his original spirits, teasing you, loving you more than before and showering you with the best gifts in the next valentine's day. Cheer up my friend and I will also join with you for your hubby's speedy recovery
